Restaurant Evaluators

Anyone else have problems getting paid from them? I still haven't been paid from a shop I did the beginning of May! Can you believe that? And, when I inquire about the missing check (7 times now) -- no response. For a company that reviews quality satisfaction of customer service, they are really lacking!!

If I recall correctly, they have a long reputation for slow pay--use the 'search' feature on other mystery shopping forums. Keep contacting them. They are not MSPA members so you can't even bring it to their attention as an ethics violation. Depending on your state, some states have fairly active Attorney General's Offices that might get involved.
I did a shop for them in January. I contacted them at 45 days, using their own website invoice issues section, and had a check in my hands by the end of the week. I did a shop in July, coming due right around next week. I will see what happens this time.

I did a shop for them in July and have yet to get my check. I submitted a lost ticket and no one has called or emailed me back. I then called them today and got a voicemail. Still have not heard anything. I will never do a shop for them again!
Sorry you got snagged in that. If I recall correctly these guys did not totally walk away from payments, they just were outrageously slow with the checks. My list of companies I am signed with has a red bar through their name to remind me they are a 'handle with caution if at all' company.
Yeah, I don't know what else to do, wait a little more and then continue to call and try to speak to someone higher up.
They pay me faster than Freeman and Orilio did....But then, I had to badger them for payment. RE I only had to ask once at 45 days each time.

Who did you contact? What did you say to them? I did two shops for Freeman and one was in July the other in August, they told me they pay after 8 weeks, so I will be looking for the money at the end of the month.
Freeman, it took 9 months and I went directly to the top, after getting the run around many times.

I have a July shop I did for Freeman in part to test how their pay cycle is currently functioning. We are not to the 8 week promised date, though it is approaching. Hopefully it will arrive in 8-10 weeks without need to follow up with them. Once I am paid I will accept my next shop from them. I probably will not contact them before 12 weeks.
I am trying to find restaurant shops in my area and cant find any other than fast food. I am in JACKSONVILLE, FL. Anyone have any suggestions on what companies do restaurants down here? lrk
A Closer Look has some restaurants around Jacksonville. You probably won't find anything on their board at the moment because they post for the month usually around the 25th, but I know they have at least a handful up there. My guess is that somewhere between 50 and 75% of MSPs have restaurants though of course not all of them will have them in your area. I have been pleasantly surprised after working for a company for a while to suddenly get to start seeing the restaurants they have.

And do be aware that with A Closer Look, when they post new jobs for October in September you will be able to see them only by selecting the 'radio button' for October (you will have two radio buttons, one for September shops, one for October shops until the end of September, when the radio buttons on Oct 1 will change to October as the default view and November).

And A Closer Look does not post all of their jobs simultaneously on the first day of the window shown on their website. The shops I like most usually appear in the afternoon of day 2 of the window and there may be a few stragglers that show up over a few days after that.

g8torjenn asks "Anyone else have problems getting paid from them?" With no "them" indentified. That would seem a useful warning to provide. Several others seem to know who "they" are.

I would take this as useful advice," if only I knew who "they" are. I see in the thread the names Freeman and Orilio Restaurant being slower than the mystery restaurant. So I'd like to know why isn't THIS name mentioned; and how do all you psychic people know which of all the MSR's it is?? I have 3 MSR's on my list who offer restaurant shops, and I have a very short list.
"They" would be restaurant evaluators, the name under which she titled the thread.

Yes Restaurant Evaluators is one company, but there are many many many companies that offer restaurant shops. Orillio is defunct, Freeman usually offers only high end that it is a little risky to undertake until they get their payments back to a normal flow. But there are also

Coyle Hospitality
A Closer Look
Strategic Reflections
Shoppers Inc
Confero
Restaurant Cops
Inside Hospitality
Management Consulting Group
Service With Style

and many many others. In a different economy even Bare and MFI have offered restaurants.
Whoops, my fault, from ignorance.

I didn't know that "Restaurant Evaluators" is the name of a company, not a general classification.
Okay. I thought you were being sarcastic! :-)

Dee, maybe I was being sarcastic. I can't tell either. :-)

I guess maybe I'll be able to figure out what companys are being referred to.
I finally got paid for my July shop. I contacted the scheduler and told her what was going on, she said she would handle it right away. I got the check in the mail yesterday!
My december shop for Restaurant Evaluators is now overdue on payment, and my emails to them have received no response.

This information should be no surprise to anyone who reads MS message boards. A quick search will turn up negative feedback and missing money on just about every reportable site out there. They are burning a lot of bridges with shoppers these days.

This company has all of the earmarks of one that will be going under very soon. If anyone else is still owed money by them, please post here and perhaps we can lobby together for payment before they are defunct.
