Cast is a Merchandising firm. They send out opportunities via email if you have signed up with them.

They have sent me lots of merchandising jobs. They do lots of work for certain warehouse that give out lots of samples. I have a friend that does tons of work for them and she gives them an A+
akm81, 3 posts above yours is one from Flash providing a link for information. If you want further info, try googling.
They're a great company, and the people running it have been in the merchandising business for some time with other companies. CAST itself is new but the experience is not.

They go above and beyond for their merchandisers that work for them. I did some work a while back, and my clutch decided to go out in my car. I notified the company of this, they overnited $200 to me so I could rent a car to finish my project for them.
I suspect you have a long term relationship with these folks to have anything like that happen. Of course around here you can't rent a car without putting it on your credit card, so the need for speed for the cash would be more an act of faith on their part than needed for the vehicle.
I don't know... I get plenty of emails, but the last one is $10 per store, 45 minutes in each, which is not worth it to me. Just my opinion.

Their web site is certianly professional. Not like some others, no names mentioned (*cough DSS cough*).
True, Susan, the site is that of Adobe Flash. Not many can afford it, so I suspect they have an in-house pro. HOWEVER, their ethics and professionalism are totally lacking. Most of the time, they don't even know the scope of work themselves. Not to mention, they try to change the payout on some projects. They also withhold payouts if they do not receive your faxes, even if they know you did them and could alert you that the fax did not come over. As you should be aware, these acts are against the IRS rules concerning an independent contractor.

As for the $10 for 45 minutes, most of the time the stores do not need the negated time. The longest time I have been in a store is 30 minutes. You have to give in account the reporting and travel time which makes it not worth anyone's time. Remember, they have to pay for all of that flash. Who better to pay for it than the ICs?

Speaking as someone who teaches Flash, that website may look polished, but as a Flash site it is very minor and easy to do. I don't think they are paying the big bucks to anyone for their site.

You very well could be right, Dee. Anyone can go to Wix.com and create the same site...NOW. Their site has been like this for a few years before flash was truly popular.

STILL CROOKS!

I am not personally familiar with "wix.com" but there are zillions of people making, giving away and selling Flash, CSS and HTML templates on the web. I do not necessarily think they did this, but my point was this: Flash has been around since the late 90's. It got really good at doing web stuff around 2000-2001. They kind of use of Flash they had would not have required anything special from a web person, even a few years ago. I think they did not pay much to get they site designed, and that may (or may not) be in line with your theories of their payment policies. I was just trying to state that they did not spend the big bucks for that site, as it required very little Flash knowledge to build. Even a few years ago. I have been using Flash since 2000, and have built many commercial sites for clients using it. This is not a "flashy", expensive site. It just looks better than some MSC's do.

I don't think the audacity of their site or how much "flash" they use is the point of this thread. It is apparent you want to discuss the site and not the people behind it.

Also, if you feel the need to delete the other thread, then by all means. I do not want to take from this thread.

I joined this site to share my experience, as others have. I did not join to get into some debate on flash.

I guess people look for a reason to argue.

YOu brought up being mislead by how flashy their site is. I am trying to say, it is not, really. Argue all you want with your statements.

Do you have any current experience and positive statements to bring to the table with companies? You joined and immediately denigrated a company...That might be your experience with one company, but how about with others? Anything positive to share?

Since you are following my movements so hard, then you would see that I did have something positive to say about Bare. Truly, I'm flattered. I have not had time to comment on much else because of giving you the attention you seem to desire.

FYI, this is not my first time on this forum. My old name was deleted.

You are taking away from the essence of the site. You can respond to yourself from this point as someone must take the high road.

God bless.

I obviously don't need to wonder why. LOL.

Yes I have done some work for them....once you sign up with them don't expect assignments soon. They e-mail you the project and then you have to select stores and if you received the assignment they will e-mail you back your batch of stores that they picked out the ones that you picked out first.

They pay on the week of the 15th of each month and they mail the payment out on Friday of that week so you don't get it until the following week.
