I think I just got dinged by Sinclair

Did my first shop with them, the warehouse grocery one that involves asking a question about a product in terms of serving size, price or how to cook. I asked if I needed to cook the product in a conventional oven or if I could cook in a toaster oven. Actually something I was interested in for camping trip purposes. They told me that was too vague and that I needed to ask a question about serving size or price to test product knowledge. Right, cause most people stand in front of an item and ask how much it is while ignoring the big sign with the price on it in front of their face or ask serving size so the associate can read the label for you! I keep checking the site since I'm nervous it won't get approved and I can't see any shops, even the pretzel one in the airport that is always sitting there. Anyone else experience this?

Sounds like your question did ask how to cook. But I do these all the time and always seem to be hosting some group and want an idea on how many it will serve..true it says on the back but you can always go with - I am serving teen age boys, this is for my girls group and they don't eat much...not sure if I need one or two packages...etc. I don't think they will take away shops for your first time mistake but I guess there is no way to know for sure. I find there are times when there are many shops on the board and other times not many. Today I would not expect many as it's the end of the month and they likely got someone to take those shops that are always sitting there with a bonus.

Don't feel too badly, once I went completely bland on a shop there and asked if the associate had tried and liked the item. One of those 'DUH' moments. So I asked about another item I remembered from the list with someone else and asked about number of servings. Over the years there have been a few foobars but eventually every shop has been accepted and paid, though some have had emails asking about clarifications of the goof. "I'm sorry," seems to be in virtually every email I have ever sent them because for some reason while I love the store and always overspend the reimbursement, it seems to be a place where I get too distracted by merchandise to keep it all straight.
Glad to see this discussion, I have my first warehouse shop scheduled next week.

They really are pretty easy shops, though I should not say that probably as this month I only got the backup slot. smiling smiley It is a location I drop in about once a month anyway on my own dime.
I always say that family is coming in to town and I'm not sure how many pounds of xx to purchase to feed a group of 13, what do they recommend....
I always use the time of year and say that my mom is having people over next week and while I was here, she wanted me to check the price of <whatever the item>. I need to know how many packages she needs to feed 20 people for Christmas, Easter, Father's Day, etc. If no good holiday, then I use a birthday.

I like using my mom as then they won't think it is weird that I don't get the item as I like to get items I need anyway.

I plain out ask how many serving and explain I don't have my glasses with me and can't read the small prints. They do not know that I don't wear glasses. For the chicken and brownies, I ask how long would it take to heat up and they usually read the directions. The new phone requirement throws havoc in my schedule. I have to make sure I remember to call before the store closes. I kliked it when we could call the day before.

The item I had to ask about had the number of servings on the front in 3 inch bold letters. Not even the glasses ruse would have workedsmiling smiley

About the new phone requirement, that gets me on these as well. My old routine was to call on my lunch hour (at the full-time job) and do the phone call. Then go to the store in the evening after work.

Now that routine doesn't work anymore due to the new guidelines. I changed it (against all my MS training before) to NOT do the report until the next day and do the phone call on my lunch the next day. The guidelines do state for this MSC that the reports have to be entered within 24 hours so you still have time. Seems weird to me but it works. I enter the report throughout the afternoon at work (if things are slow) or right after I get off before I go to my evening MS assignment.
