Why do the companies, ...

With short time windows, then blow off requests to do the shop?

I saw a bank listing, with a due date for today, 12/13/2014, and put in for six or 7 of them and only got 2.

Is there reasons behind this?

I would have put in for more of them if the time frame had been longer.

Is it OK to send an email to the company to try to get the ones that were not assigned. I checked and a lot of the ones I applied for are still open and due today.

The company may have a limit on how many can be completed by one shopper.

Sometimes companies - I can think of 4 who regularly do this - post a lot of jobs for one client but do not need that many completed. They might post 50 locations when they actually need 25 or 30 shopped. When they get the number they need scheduled, they either remove the posting or leave it active just in case - some of those scheduled may not be successful or may be not performed, requiring them to schedule more.

There can be a lot of reasons: Rotation, number of shops assigned to one shopper, not wanting to assign to a shopper who applied, the possibility that it appears the client may cancel the shops, or simply because the scheduler is busy and has dropped the ball.

It's not bad to contact the scheduler and make an offer.
Thanks! I did send out an email saying that I "could" get a few of them done. Haven't heard back, from anyone.

I know the specs, now. IF I hear nothing back on my reports, I know to jump at them next month.

OR wait for them to be bonused!
I know that banking shops are limited by how many you can shop in a day. The best way is to take 2 or 3 shops from different banks in the same area, if you can. The Guidelines usually tell you how many you can do or the MSC limits.
Yes, there are lots of reasons. Another is competition. Say the scheduler had seven applications from three different shoppers, giving two to you, three to another and two to the last shopper.

Sending your email offering to do more is a great idea, especially in this month when many schedules are bumped to earlier in the month because of Christmas. Getting specific answers to your specific questions is an even better idea. With that information you will be in a better position to help the scheduler help you down the road. Also, the scheduler is more informed about your schedule and preferences and will more likely seek you out for shops.

Well yesterday there were TONS of this banks open for both teller and platform. This morning there was nothing showing on jobslinger.

Would a mystery company offer samples of how they do reports to perspective or new clients?
Absolutely.

I have had a request in sine Thursday for a shop due on 12/15 and it is still listed in my apps. Different scheduler, same story. I just deleted it since I now have my day planned and don't want it to show up as approved while I am out.
The scheduler got back to me and said they have a limit of 2. smiling smiley So, of course I wrote back and said that I HAD wondered why since other companies let you cram in as many as you can handle. tryin' to leave little hints, for future reference.
Hi Watching the Wheels! While I understand that you wondered why and were replying back that hoping to leave hints, from my experience over the last 10 years scheduling, MSCs cannot change the client requirements. I have some self storage clients that I schedule their locations. For one of the clients, a shopper can complete the same location within 3 months but can only complete a very limited number of these assignments. For another storage company I schedule, a shopper can complete as many as they want, BUT they can only complete each location 1 time a year.

For other clients I schedule (restaurant shops), the client would PREFER 120 days in between when a shopper can return to complete a shop I can go around the requirements and approve a shopper up to 30 days without having to wait an additional 90 days. BUT for another of the clients, there is no way, no how that I can approve a shopper before the rotation time is up.

I understand. I was just disappointed because the particular shops in question were "easy money shops", that bring my rate of money made per hour UP.

smiling smiley I had been good and "only requested" 6 because there was only a 2 or 3 day window, to get them done.
I can think of only one MSC that I've worked for that has "changed" the client's requirements. I had helped them out by doing a route of 5 bank shops for them that covered a bit over 500 miles, and I had to catch a free ferry early in the route or my day would have been shot. I completed those shops for them in one day...and it was a money looser for me. The next month, they gave me 35 of the same bank. I completed the route in just over a day. There was a catch...I had to write the reports in three different styles as the client had a limit per shopper of 12 banks. Also the MSC waived the requirement of not being able to shop locations between noon and 1PM. That route of 35 more than made up for the route of 5.

I had one change the requirements to allow me to do two shops at the same time at the same location. It was a special request when their deadline was near. It doesn't hurt to ask.
