Bare Planning Date?
I suspect that if you read the guidelines or the comments, there is something in there about needing to submit the date via the survey on the shop log. I am beginning to learn that my previous practice of waiting to read the guidelines until the day before I do the shop just doesn't work. There are too many times when there's something that has to be done ahead of time, and waiting to read the guidelines will cause me to miss it. It takes more time, but the best practice is to read the guidelines IMMEDIATELY upon being assigned, then then AGAIN the day before/of so that you don't miss little things that might not have been apparent from the shop notice.

Was this a testing center evaluation? For those there is a first step which must be completed within either 24 or 48 hours. They are quite flexible with actually scheduling the shop.

I have shopped for them for years and never had this issue. This happened to me today too. I selected dates. I sent an email to find out what is going on. It is not the testing center. I was just about to head out to do this shop too!(Edited to fix a missing sentence).

Yes, I completed three of the same shop in the previous quarter and I re-read over the guidelines this time just to make sure nothing had changed. There was nothing in there to indicate that I was to submit a "planning date." No, these are not testing centre shops. The shops have already been taken by another shopper. I had planned multiple shops near these sites, so I'm quite disappointed. I have an email into the scheduler and have not heard back.
Sigh. Its on page 5 (in my mind it should be on the first page if its new).

The scheduler says that the shops will be re-assigned to me, as it seems many shoppers missed this. Have you heard back @nhgirl1970?

I called the company, the person who answered the phone indicated it was widespread and not to worry. The response via email was a copy and paste of what is in this post about confirming dates.

OUCH!! And another very painful lesson I will try to glean from your experience so I don't have to experience it myself. Read the guidelines EVERY TIME! I really do wish the MSCs would put a section at the very beginning of the guidelines that highlights all of the changes so that they are readily apparent to those of us who have done the shop a million times and are kind of on autopilot. I realize it is our responsibility to read them every time, but burying something on page 5 really doesn't help anyone. Makes more work for the scheduler when shoppers miss it and obviously more work for the shopper who has to comb through what is sometimes pages of repetitive minutiae to find the changes.
This also happened to me. I emailed the scheduler. She told me that it was cancelled do to the new automatic cancellation that was in the guidelines. However, they are doing a system restore (which should take a few hours), and after that, the shops will be back in my shop log, so to do them as planned. She said I needed to go in and enter the planning date within 24 hours once the shops are back in the log or they will be cancelled again.

I just heard back and yes new as of 2015 your date you plan to do the shop has to go in the questionnaire. As Ezykulaxc said, they are doing a system restore and shops will reappear but go in right away and put in your date to avoid cancellation.
Not sure if this is EVERY shop, because I did a PO shop this month and no issues. It's safe to say to double check no matter what type of shop. Glad it worked out for all of us.

Is it just me or does referring to it as a planning date sound strange? Why not say "enter the date you plan to shop into the form immediately?"

@LisaSTL, I agree, the language is a bit odd. I stated the date that I plan to do the shop when I agreed to do the shop, therefore I don't really understand the point/purpose of the repetition.

The whole thing was strange. I know in my case when I took the shop, the calendar came up with a date range and I chose the date. I guess the guidelines said to enter your "planned date" in the shop form. With this being new, there should have been something stated in the email (Please read guidelines immediately or important changes) when these shops were sent out.
If it is a shop I have done before, I do check my guidelines every time, but sometimes not until the night before or even the day of the shop if I am really busy. This was the case for me today. The crappy roads put me way behind yesterday and I didn't check guidelines for today's shops last night. I guess from Bare's perspective, we should be checking the guidelines right away. That is fine, I will chalk it up to a lesson learned.

I agree @nhgirl1970. I plan to complete one of my shops today after work and I still don't have anything in my shop log. Makes me a bit leery about proceeding. And yes, if I were at home today, it would certainly be holding up my entire day. I mean I am grateful to have not lost the shop entirely, but it's definitely a pain to have to wait around for this mysterious "System Restore." And for the folks who did pick up our shops, I'm sure they will be getting plenty of angry emails about that too. What a mess!
When you accept the shop, you do enter the date you plan to shop so the new guidelines seem redundant. Like most shoppers, I review the guidelines prior to completing the shop (especially if I've done the shop many times).

It's ludicrous to put in the guidelines something that needs to be done within 24 hours of shop acceptance when the shop is four days away. With two days to go, I read the guidelines and found my shops had been cancelled. I got them restored after waiting half a day, and when I went to follow their page 5 instruction, it turns out that the only date that the "planning date" would accept is the exact date you scheduled it for in the first place!
Tell us again that you'll do it when you said you'd do it and that we set for you to do it.

This happened to me too, and I emailed the scheduler and got re-scheduled. So I will try to pay closer attention from now on.
I picked up a Bare shop tonight that hadn't been available before. I'm wondering if it will go back to the original person if it was an auto cancel.
I was thinking about that @Mafia_Princess. I mean certainly rough for the shopper who missed the planning date, but even worse for the person who thinks they've scored getting this new shop, only to have it taken away. Seems like such a silly system. Creating a lot more confusion than it should.
@Mafia_Princess, I think you would be okay. They updated the system on Thursday to restore the shops. The original shoppers were given their shops back by late Thursday afternoon. If you saw the shop after that, I am guessing it was truly available to you.

It was only this thread that had me go confirm the shop I took a few days ago, and then do it for the one I just picked up too. Weird system.
