What is the trick with this company? This may sound like a silly question, but I have applied to about 20-255 shops with them and always get a "your not accepted email." I have yet to do my first shop with them

Every other MSC I have been able to complete jobs for. Is service sleuth more for the experienced? I'm just trying to figure out at this point if I should just keep trying or throw in the towel with them.

Even though the pay time frame is long, Service Sleuth has some shops that are very popular, and there is a lot of competition for their shops in most areas. They use independent schedulers to schedule their shops, and most of their usual shops in my area are snapped up quickly. I think many schedulers probably do tend to pick more experienced shoppers with a track record (when they have a choice). Keep applying and I'm thinking you will get something.

Service Sleuth is definitely not a small company. It's not huge but it's at least larger than most. Depending on the type of shop some of theirs require a long track record before you'll get accepted.

Last time I tried to self-assign a shop on Service Sleuth the web site would not let me although in the past I had been able to do so. Contacted the scheduler and got no response. Frustrating to say the least as I never did figure out why I was having trouble.

OP, what kind of shop from Service Sleuth?

Very infrequently shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado these days.

I have applied for car wash shops, oil changes, movie theaters, casinos, hotels, payroll shops... i understand the hotel and the casino ones being denied, that was a long shot. But the others I dont understand why I cant get accepted.

It sounds like they have a lot in your area so it could benefit you to be more assertive. Email a scheduler and ask them the best way to get your foot in the door.

I have a very good history with SS, and am accepted for 100% of the shops I apply for. So my guess is that you just need to keep trying to get established with them. I do several assignments for them every month.

I have been shopping for 4 years for Service Sleuth. I only shop specific shops for them. 90 in 4 years. I would talk to the scheduler, I have very good luck with them. I actually tell them where I will be on specific dates and ask if they have any shops. They pay well and on time. I also score mostly 10s with them. I think Kernscheduling sets up their shops.

If you are new to shopping, never give up. Once you establish yourself, have good reports you will be successful. I don't shop any of the shops that you have applied for, maybe my location is different than yours. New England

If you look in the info of the shop itself, their schedulers usually write their name and email. I started with them in December and have been able to get all the shops I ask for.

Also make sure you do the training for those shops... Here there are none that require training for but I noticed you mentioned you applied for casino shops. That shop requires you pass a test. Just a thought..

I had reason to communicate with a KSS scheduler because of issues finding a location in January. As it happened, I really enjoyed the assignment and had a couple of funny things happen. Since we had been discussing the shop anyway, when emailing to thank her for the help I decided to share the funny stores and how I'd be up for future visits. Just this morning she called to ask if I could go this week

I have contacted Sonja with KSS. It would certainly be nice if she responded to tell me why I cannot self assign shops. I have done shops with Svc Sleuth in the past and have a rating of 9 so I sure don't know why I am now having trouble. I need a phone number if anyone has it, please so that I can call support and see what the problem is.

I noted that there is now an age requirement for the wireless shops, etc. They are only for 60 and below.
Maybe they changed the requirements for other shops too. I did some shops for them last month.

Mmmm. Never thought of the age requirement. I am 76 - maybe they think folks my age don't get oil changes? I usually catch Circle of Service for some vehicle service shops but haven't seen any of them lately.

I just get annoyed when I send a message to a scheduler and they do not have the courtesy to respond.

Service Sleuth absolutely has in house schedulers. Not everything is scheduled through Kern.

I have performed a dozen shops for Service Sleuth over last 4 years (all oil change shops) and never had a problem / always a positive experience. I found their shop fee and reimbursement allowance more attractive than other MSCs offering oil change shops in my area (e.g. Intellishop). Their scheduler for my area was easy to reach / easy to work with. Their payments were accurate and on time. I would do more for them if they had more available in my area.

I haven't had a problem receiving shops. However, my concern is the manner in which they pay. They rarely pay as stated in the shoppers agreement, yet shoppers are expected to complete shops on time. They also don't respond to e mails regarding payment. I could possibly be more understanding if this was a small company, but this is a large company.

I don't shop often for Service Sleuth; however, of the 8 shops I performed last year, the average days it took to receive payment after completing assignment was 68 days via PayPal.

Hope that helps ya figure out when you should start bugging Service Sleuth for payment!

Checking in on the slow/no pay issue. I did two shops for this MSC in December. They paid me for one of them in mid-February along with a note that all December shops would be paid by the end of February. Well, it is March 2 and no payment for the second shop yet. Bummer because I have really enjoyed the work for them...but the sketchy pay schedule is no good.

I have been paid through December. Next up is a shop I completed in January. I expect to be paid for it by the end of March.
