Did I get the MF ax?

I tried to log on this morning and got this message:

"Your access to this website has been restricted"

Have I outlived my usefulness?

jk!..tongue sticking out smiley Seriously, contact them by calling and ask what the deal is....
I would start by checking the web address of your bookmark and possibly trying another browser. With all the recent changes it could be a technical glitch. Or it could be you were booted.

Did that.
Three different browsers, two different devices.

Doesn't feel as bad as I expected it to. I'm not even angry
Are you sure it said *your* access is restricted? I was doing a report Saturday night when I got a message that the report was being taken down and to return in 15 minutes. You can imagine my confusion. The shop had been switched with another one by a scheduler, informing me first, because someone had a route and had to do the other one on the date I had it. Of course, that didn't make any difference. I went on to my email, checked again, and then to Facebook. After some time, I returned and could do the last of what I needed, which was to upload the receipt. I can't imagine why they would take down a project already in progress. As long as they pay me each month. . .

Had you not done shops in a while? Did you have any recent problems on any shops that you can remember?

I cut and pasted the message. That was exactly as it was

No problems since my very first days but I haven't done a shop with them in about 6 months. Still I was able to log on as recently as a week ago
I used the "Forgot ID/Password" link and got this message:

Well there you go. You were obviously a very, very bad boy. For shamesmiling smiley

Don't forget to start several, nay dozens of new threads, slamming them, the way they do business, yada, yada yadawinking smiley

Nah,

I cut my teeth with them and I made good money with them.
Thanks to this forum I understood this day might come and got prepared.
I haven't done a shop with them in six months .
I'm not happy but I'm not upset either.

I look at them like training wheels....I'm glad I had them ..I gained confidence with them ...but I don't need them anymore
That stinks! It would be nice if they could give you a reason. I'm sure I'll be on the chopping block sometime. I've been shopping with them for four years.
Well, she said that she got the message that she hadn't used her account - as in accepted a shop in too long, then she confirmed that she had not done a shop for them in 6 months. I think they cut her out because she had been dormant for them for 6 months... Yes, she had been logging in to her account, but she had not accepted/done a shop for them in a long time.
I'm not sure if six months of not accepting shops does it. Right now my last two assignments for them were in January & February 2013. Before that I had one assignment in June 2012

I got a response this morning.
They told me that my 1099 was returned to them (I recently moved) and that as soon as my address is updated my restriction will be lifted.

I thought I updated my address with them but I guess I brain farted it.
Glad it worked out for you. I had a similar experience recently when I was blocked from seeing job postings. I thought it was over but then found out that a few receipts had not been received after I had moved. It was resolved quickly once they received the receipts and made me happy because I do enjoy working for them and find their help desk very responsive.

6 months? That is why they cut you. They will reinstate you if you ask.
Then why haven't I been cut after 25 months of inactivity?

Yeah, I've gone well over a year between shops with MF, and never got axed. I'm not sure why some shoppers get axed for being inactive, or if MF even does that still.

This is why it's good to contact the MSC and not assume anything. Also another reason to go online or use the paper form at the USPS to get your mail forwarded!

You mean they couldn't enlist their offshore phone crew to call you and confirm that?

That would cost a few extra Rupees.
I get 6es on my Senior living reports from Intella, and 10s on my Senior living reports from Bare. HMMMMM
I have done 31 car shops for Intella with scores of 7 to 10, they keep hiring me. On a roll for now. They seem ok to me. Have had the ax for really stupid stuff, though, Glad to hear I'm not alone.

Once I put the wrong pic (of a disgusting company name roll) and Reality Based Group fired me. I could have put a picture of my dog there, they just would have dumped the shop, but I Mistakenly used a pic from another report. Stupid me I tried to find the right one, and I had deleted it. I should have put the pic of the dog. There were 4 other pics from the same place with the receipts obvious, too. Not like I was trying to falsify anything. DNA do not assign. Were are the handcuffs? I'll go peacebly, just not quietly.

I have always been a round peg in a square hole. That's why I do this. So just keep truckin.

Mod note: linking the MSC with its client is a breach of Forum rules and probably also a violation of your ICA
@MSNinja wrote:

How can you be fired? I thought we were independent contractors not employees.

Absolutely right. We are independent contractors. The mystery shopping companies we work for are our customers. We are not "hired" and we cannot be "fired."
