Maritz printing for the verification code

I did my first shop for them last week and had to print out the pages and pages of shop questions to get the code. I'd really rather not waste my ink printing the same instructions for tomorrows shop. I couldn't quickly figure out a work around. Anyone have any advice on this? I hate wasting printer ink :/

I'm fine with printing one page. I was in such a hurry I didn't think about that last time. I didn't realize till I was home from a multi hour road trip I needed to print the paper work (I had it saved to my computer and phone) to get the code to be able to input it. One page is better then 6. Thanks, I should have thought of that.
Most of the time I print the first page as MDavisnowell stated above. You can also get the code by doing Print Preview and writing it down without printing.

Print to PDF.

Haven't used Firefox in years, but Chrome allows you to print to PDF without any extra extensions or softwares.

It's the digital age. Invest in a large capacity USB drive and print to PDF everything rather than wasting paper and ink!

I'm a Firefox girl.. I have chrome, I just don't use it. I've seen printing to pdf before but didn't know how to do it, thanks I'll look at my chrome tomorrow
You just hit print, and where the box shows what printer to print to, scroll until you see pdf. Click on it, and now you are creating a pdf instead of printing. I learned about that on this forum, and it is one of the best tips ever!
I do what Snoopy does- Print preview works.

I hit print preview for each of my shops and write down the visit number and security code on a list next to the computer. This way when doing many reports I can just cross them off as I go through the reports. When it's crunch time even moments count.

Firefox does not have a native PDF print option. So, for years I have used CutePDF. You download that free program, and install it. Then you "print" to CutePDF and it creates a PDF file of anything you can print. So, you don't have to be in a browser for it to work. You can "print" a photograph, or from Word, or a screen shot, or anything else.

The code is necessary because sometime back when dinosaurs walked on the earth, someone programmed it into the system, and the head dinosaur hunter has left the company and no one knows how to remove the feature. smiling smiley

Mary, I've entered the wrong data even WITH the code. #kindofanidiot

In Chrome you can save it as a PDF, then open it and it will have the code.

When I do phone shops for information to be sent to me I print the first page. Then I record the phone info so that I can input it when the materials arrive.

Do not read so much, look about you and think of what you see there.

There is one reason and obviously you have not figured it out......
It assures them you opened the report.....

And why is it necessary to open each and every report when you have passed the required test, have opened at least one already, and have submitted at least one already? What "obvious" purpose does it serve to have to open the same report multipled times? Admittedly the name and address changes. So what? Other MSC's seem to be able to get along without this redundant step. Most seem to be able to get along without proof that you have open at least one.

Besides, as so many people have reported, it is quite possible to save the report as a PDF file, or to print just page 1 (as I do) without bothering to read the entire report. So, I agree, this is a needless and pointless requirement. It might at one time have served some purpose, but I don't think it currently does. Assuring "them that you opened the report"? Useless and pointless.

@myst4au You're wasting your breath (pixels?). She's far too self-righteous to pay attention to anybody but herself.

Yes, definitely don't print a thing; print preview the document and you will get the code. It's a bit small and thus hard to read, but I have never had trouble getting it.
I click to print and get the code on the print preview screen and then cancel the print job. I am like you, don't want to waste the paper.

You do know by clicking on the "Shrink to Fit" at the top of the 'Print Preview' page you can increase the image of the page confused smiley to shrink or zoom?
Sometimes if you highlight, with your cursor, the initial section of information that lists your shopper number, the shop I.D., Dates and Times etc. then do a control "C" copy, then go open a word processor program, like Word, or Open Office Write, and do a control "V" paste, the security code will be revealed.
I've mentioned this before - to see the security code without printing, I print to MS One Note or print to file.

But, often, the security code shows up when the evaluation page opens.
