Maritz Projects

Hello, has anyone ever been removed from a project through Maritz. I have been calling for days to see why some of the August shops have not been assigned to me and someone finally called my voicemail and said something that I was removed from a certain project. I had no notification of any major errors that I have made and I have done 50+ of these shops per month and like to help them out when I can when they call and need help. I have now called that team and am still waiting on a supervisor to call back. I am truly devastated about this, I really loved this job and I have been doing these location for 3+ years, even when they were with another company. And if anyone has ever had this happen, do you know if it is possible to get put back on a project if removed. Any advice would greatly be appreciated, it has been two days and not knowing what has happened is driving me crazy.

The client probably requested for you to be removed from the project as opposed to the MSC. 50 shops or more in a month for the same client for the past three years is a lot. Most of the MSC's guidelines have a 30-shop monthly limit so maybe they finally realized that you have been going way over the limitation. More than likely, the client wants a new and fresh perspective.
Thank you for sharing your experience! It is another reminder to diversify as a shopper. I have always wondered how the client got a diverse perspective with the same few people shopping each month. I hope you are able to resolve this issue or find a source to recapture the Maritz shop loss.
OP, you said you had no major errors. What can you tell us about ANY errors on your shops for this client? Errors you consider minor might be considered major by Maritz or by the client. Multiple errors of any type could be a factor in this loss. Were you having problems with information questions, with pictures, with receipts, or with times? What about rescheduling? Were you requesting more than a rare reschedule?

You had a good run. Fifty shops a month for 3 years for the same client is a whole lot. I'm surprised you were not removed from the project sooner. Perhaps because they changed MSCs, that prolonged your ability to continue. If I were the client OR the MSC, I would want new eyes on the project. Move on to other companies and other projects. It's someone else's turn. Maybe after a year or two you can return to the project.
OP, I was also removed from one of Maritz's bigger clients earlier this year, and I was disappointed as well. I had completed at least 25-30 shops per month on this project, sometimes more and sometimes highly bonused, for more than 5 years. I had come to rely on them as good "fillers" for when I didn't have any other work. Like you, I really wanted an explanation but didn't get one. As other posters have said, the client most likely removed you, not Maritz, and most likely because they wanted fresher eyes. In my case, I figured that if I had done something wrong, I would have been told about it and possibly even been deactivated by the MSC. Since that wasn't the case, I assumed that they wanted new blood. It sucks when it happens, but perhaps this will give you the impetus to seek out new blood yourself - maybe apply to some new MSCs and find some different projects or types of work you didn't even know existed.

Good luck smiling smiley
I too was removed from projects by Meritz. I have worked with them for about 6 years on 3 different projects and assorted smaller jobs. I did 50 - 80 shops per month during my run on the 3 projects. It seems that after 2 years they want fresh eyes. At least I was told that by one of the supervisors. All three projects had gone to route assignments. After working the 2 years, they called me and said they could not use me on the project. I have been away from them for about 6 months now. Hope to return in another six months. Although, I was told by one of the supervisors that once you are removed from a project, you may never return.
I looked at "available shops" this morning, since someone had called me yesterday afternoon about putting a route together, and there is not a single gas shop within 99 miles. Either the schedulers were super busy and effective yesterday, or I was just given the boot from any and all gas projects. I did have an "on hold" shop asking for photos I am positive I submitted, but resubmitted anyway since they had possibly been deleted. Dunno.
When I have the hold asking for a photo (submitted or not) I always email the team to let them know I've done it. I've done that for months, since one shop where I updated it and gave them the photos and no one ever checked. I got another notice so I had to go right then and tell them it was done.
(If only they would check email… I often send the corrections before the automated system send out the alert. This one is truly strange because several photos were missing and I'm sure I could not have ignored all the prompts to make sure they were included. Without giving away the client, there is a shop that requires multiple views of a canopy but they only give you one slot. My m.o. is to upload multiple photos into the same slot. (Where else could they go?) The extras were no longer there on this shop. hmmm.

Edit: There are some shops coming in now in my "find shops" list. Their system must just be wonky, because the offers "within 50 miles" are in Illinois, and I live an hour southeast of Omaha.

I had missing photos recently as well and I know I uploaded them. I think their system needs work. I prefer it to most of the others but it gets wonky at times.
Their system will be shut down Sunday morning somewhere around 2 am for a couple of hours for updating & repair.
I can not get them to answer my emails. I have been signed up with them for several years but forgot my password. They have a "security question" to answer, however the question is not there so I have no idea what it is. I can't get them to respond. any advice?
Except for Mondays, you can get someone on the phone right away. (Monday seems to be a day that everyone calls in at once and calls go to voice mail.)
Yeah, and you get that guy with the deep voice. Yes, a guy. If that happens I try again in a couple of minutes and again and again until I get through.
your comment sounded like you were doing them favors but actually Maritz was the lifeline for you. and now you are frantic?
if it was you in the position of power taking care of them it would be Maritz being frantic, but the reality is you desperately need them.
you help them whenever you can?
No, you anxiously awaited them reaching out to you.
Maybe your not major errors were being late in debriefings, maybe whatever?
Maritz pays well and on time and they are really good people.
So for whatever reason, the old "go to" is gone.
We can never think we got it locked up.
All of these jobs are exactly that, jobs.
I like Maritz, too, nevercold, but they are my customer, not my family. I try not to be overly defensive. There have been some critical comments, but no one has bashed Maritz. Let's not bash any forum members for their comments. Time to step back. Sometimes you've just got to let folks think how they think.
Why stop now nevercold? You have corrected the flaws of some of us but there are so many more to go. I'm sure we all appreciate your erudite, constructive comments.
I actually scrolled back up to see what LlJake said that was so arrogant. I'm still in the dark. And back to the topic, I was hoping the OP would update us as to what they told her.
nevercold, the original post you're answering was in July and we haven't heard back from the OP on what happened. Please consider the OP was having problems and came here for support. While you may not agree with the OP's point of view, I don't see that your attack is warranted or helpful in any way.

I don't know if you don't understand what a filler shop is or if you don't understand why Chigirl considers some of the Maritz shops to be fillers on some of her runs. I am a heavy Maritz shopper -- some of my runs are based on Maritz and on others I pick up Maritz shops as fillers. It is not a putdown situation, it can work both ways.

I particularly don't understand why you jumped Jake regardless of what you think of him. Why would you think we need to know or want to know which of us you think is arrogant? Jake is one of my posting buddies. If you would like to have some of your own reconsider your approach. Or not. Perhaps not winning friends and not influencing people is your project of the day.

I think LlJake is arrogant because he doesn't want to talk to the guy with the deep voice, and keeps calling back again and again. At least, that's the best I can come up with. Why are you hating on deep voice, LlJake? Just because he is a recording doesn't mean he doesn't have feelings.
Like Chigirl and Mary, I use some Maritz shops as fillers. Either around shops from other MSC's or in some cases around other Maritz shops. The new blue bank shops are quick and easy and pay less than they used to - therefore make great fillers. With that said, Maritz is my favorite and predominate company and I do a ton with them.

You are correct mystery, it is not the deep voice I object to, it is that when he answers it is a recording and I hang up and try again later for a real person.

I have been accused of being sarcastic in the past but I can't recall arrogant. Perhaps it is my just my NY attitude.
I have a question for MRHYNARD who posted on 11/07/2015: You said that you worked on mostly 3 projects for about 6 years and did a lot of shops each month. At some point after 2 years the 3 projects went to a route setup and you were not allowed to do any of these routes. So did this switch over to the route recently happen? Or since you said that you worked on these 3 projects for about 6 years did it happen a longer time ago? thanks
