had to choose between those two, OP would probably take the cash. But this is a terrible argument. Literally: it's an invalid argument form called the false dilemma and it's a logical fallacy: forcing a choice between two alternatives when there is at least one more option. Like say, what the OP wanted in the first place: her money
and an apology.
