mystery shop companies info

I am new to mystery shopping and have done shops for monterey mystery shopping through coast to coast scheduling , Jancyn, bare international, feedback plus through kern scheduling, and informa reasearch. I have recently singed up for
mystery shops with Gapbuster, bestmark, national shopping service, new image marketing, corporate research, gfk mysteryshopping. My question is does anyone have any experience with these companies...both good and bad...because I am new to
mystery shopping I was given advice to sign up with a lot of companies...so any information that anyone has about these companies would help me in my decision to
go with them or continue with them.
Thank for any info that can be provided.
Also most of them pay by pay pal...and i only would use paypal to get paid for mystery shopping. Is this safe?...and is there any fees?...
thanks for any info on this as well...

Have you tried using the search feature to see? I know all of these companies have been discussed in some form or another, NSS as recently as yesterday...

Indeed your best bet is to read through the forum as most of these companies have their advocates and opponents, so read what your fellow shoppers think.

As for Paypal for payment, it is safe. My personal opinion is that it is safer than a paper check being mailed to me. If you sign up for just a basic account with Paypal there is no fee. On occasion a company will mess up how they submit payment through Paypal and a fee will be charged--feel free to yell at them because they need to learn how to use the resource properly because your contract is for your fee and reimbursement, not for some fees to cover THEIR cost of doing business. Only one company, Corporate Research International, indicates that they DO charge you a fee to use Paypal. But they also offer you Direct Deposit without any fee. As soon as money comes into my Paypal account I transfer it on to my bank--for which there is no fee. The transfer generally takes 3-4 business days.
dee shops and Flash,
Thank you both so much for the information.
I really appreciate your responses to me they were very helpful.
Being a fairly new mystery shopper I get a little nervous about some of the
information that I need to provide to the companies when registering and putting
bank and private informatioh like social security numbers and such out there online. This forum is extremely helpful and I know that I will continue to learn form all of the posts and advice.
Thanks again!
When you sign up with a company, look at the URL bar at the top. The site should start off "["]; If it does not have the s at the end of http it is not a secure website and your information could potentially be compromised. Most companies have wised up and now provide secure sites.

Sign up with companies that you know are legitimate from their presence on the list here [www.mysteryshopforum.com] on Volition.com or on the MSPA website [www.mysteryshop.org] There are other legitimate companies that do not appear on any of those lists, but there are certainly enough legitimate companies to get you started. There is no way that you can prevent a company's computers from being hacked and compromised and there is no way you can prevent a company's employee fraudulently harvesting your information from their system, but the likelihood of this happening with a legitimate company is slim.
