Market Force called me at 6:30pm on a Friday night.

Checked my phone and I got a missed call from Market Force at 6:30pm on a Friday night. Does this sound normal? This is the first time they called me this late.

sure, they called me during weekends, I got one time call from scheduler on Saturday when I was inside deep woods in upstate NY>>>when they need that shop to be filled they can call you any time

Shopping Eastern Pennsylvania since 2009
When you get the phone calls with the area code as 925, that is the Manila, Philippines scheduling desk and they work 24 hours a day in different shifts. They do watch time zones when they call people to not call them in the middle of the night (I wish they would call me in the middle of the night as that is when I am at my regular full time job).

Shopping across Indiana but mostly around Indianapolis.
They have an uncanny habit of calling me while I'm in the middle of performing a shop for them and I can't answer the phone. I get one call all week from them and I'm in front of an employee doing a shop.

Yes. not everyone works 9 to 5. My ms doesn't start until after dark.

I know, right! I was getting ready to do a drive in shop when they called. I pulled my car over, took the call, grabbed the bonus and drove 15 feet ahead to the drive in lane. smiling smiley
If you miss a call, you can call them back. You will be asked for your shopper id number, which will refer them to the shop you were called about. It may already have been assigned, but if not, bonus time!
A scheduler with whom I work has 1pm - 9pm hours Tuesday through Saturday. When he calls, I know he needs some shops done quickly

Some days you just have to create your own sunshine.
Most of the time you can get paid more by accepting a job over the phone than if you self-assign it on the website. And the closer it is to the end of the month, the more they're willing to pay.
Sounds like a conscientious Scheduler trying to work hard to fill shops for that weekend.
Friday eve is a respectful hour. I'd be pleased someone thought of me as a go to.
For my own hours I try to keep it 9 to 5 Monday through Friday. However, I do understand a lot of folks in this industry do not. It is always my choice whether to read email or answer a phone during my non-work hours. It would only bother me if the calls were coming in late at night or the wee hours of the morning. I'm also not a fan of editors who work in the middle of the night and expect an almost immediate response to an email sent at 2 am.
