Maritz Website updates

Anyone else get the email this morning from Maritz CX about the website updates?
It seems like there won't be major changes yet, just a change to the way "overall photos" are uploaded on the site. But they promise bigger changes down the road with smartphone apps for iOS and Android. 4 to 6 weeks away. I'm very surprised... but I'll be interested to see the updates.

They mentioned the app last year when they announced the CX merger. I imagine that thing is going to be both a godsend and a complete nightmare.

Agreed. They can't even get their employees to use email but they are going to "create" an app? They need to streamline their reports in general especially with all the recent changes to the one of their clients.
Oy. When they join our century, maybe it will work. I see a complete nightmare trying to upload a 16 pump station's photo's.
Maritz IS an enormous company, and it turns out they already have about 5 apps out there for things that have nothing to do with us. Maybe they have SOME idea what they're doing ..??

i can't imagine doing a report for them on site. unless they did away with most of the questions, and just had us upload photos like some of the apps do.
I saw the notice that they were doing an upgrade, but did not receive an email. I just assumed it was a regularly scheduled computer update. WHAT changes are the making to how we upload pictures? The pictures are literally my only complaint with this MSC. I loathe having to resize all the pictures. Will we be able to stop resizing? Yes, I know I can purchase software to resize in batches, but I've avoided having to pay for such software as this is the only MSC that has this requirement (that I work for).

CaliGirl - can you fill us in on what the changes are. I just took eight shops this morning and now I'm scared. LOL

I got the email also but I just logged into their website and the contents of the email are posted on the home page.

Their temporary chance is kind of weird. Instead of clicking on the Overall Pictures link at the top of the page and it bringing you to a page where you can enter all the overall pictures, you end up clicking on the camera icon next to each question that requires a pictures. The stupid thing is that every one of those camera icons just brings you to the same Overall Pictures page that you've always used. I'm sure this was all done for the sake of formatting the new website/app. It really doesn't affect data entry for us at all.

For me each individual icon is a Godsend, previously the darn website would time out if I tried to load more than 2 photos at a time. Then after 2 rounds it would say all the photos were loaded and someone there had to bounce the report back to me.

On the downside, some folks don't have the fancy phones by which they can report out in the field so they still have to bring it home to do it.

I just did a bank shop that required photos of a business card, brochure, closeup of a date, and rate sheet. The only difference in the report was that next to the question in the report that asks about each of those things, there is a camera icon. You click on the camera icon and upload your photo into the report there instead uploading all photos at the beginning or at the end.

VaI - try PIXresizer. It is free, can be downloaded and works great for batch re-sizing.
I've been doing the bank shops for them since last year. The picture icon has always been located next to the particular question. Weird. Maybe it was just the gas reports they've updated.

Jake - Thanks for the info. I was using the free version of picresize.com. They only let you do one picture at a time unless you upgrade. I had paid for software already that didn't work, so I didn't want to pay them for batch resizing when they won't even let you try it out. You may have just saved my life!! I'm going to download and play with it when I get home tonight.
They updated the discount grocery store. Instead of overall photos and the receipt being input at the beginning, there are now three camera icons, and each takes you to the same page which which allows you to input all three at once. It is the same page as it used to be. I input all three at once. Why not? I generally wait to input all the infraction photos until I am all done - and then I do them all at once. Sometimes I get bored and input a few as I go. As far as I am concerned, the change made today is only cosmetic.

BTW, I never resize photos for this MSC. I have a 12 megapixel camera, and that is what they get for discount food stores, gas stations, night audits, and everything else. They have never complained about that. Once in awhile I am on the road and use my 15 megapixel camera phone and they occasionally complain that they receipt isn't flat. Guess I am spoiling them with my flatbed scanner at home.

I have a Sony cybershot camera, and it is simple to switch it to the "VGA" 640x480 picture taking mode.
Anyone else having issues inputting narratives? When I type anything in, everything in the boxes disappears​.

This is not really on topic but...
How does Maritz pay and how long? I just started shopping for them and I completed a shop in the beginning of March and haven't gotten paid. Also, does anyone else have trouble getting assignments from them? I try to assign and I will go back and look and it is still under "Not scheduled" in the requested assignments page.
Martiz pays by check. I believe they run checks twice a month. The key thing to know is . . . you MUST submit an invoice or you will not be paid. You only have a 14 day period from when they accept the report to submit your invoice. Don't bother emailing them. They only work by phone. Give them a call.
You click on "My Current Shops". Towards the top of the screen in tiny green font you will see where it says "Submit Invoice". You'll need to enter your visit ID. If it hasn't been too long the visit ID will pull up the report info. If you can't pull anything up it's been too long and you'll have to call them. I forgot to submit two myself and only realized when they paid for shops I had completed later. They were real nice about it and said they would submit the invoice for me. I've since begun copying the invoice and saving in my database with the report and pictures. Trying to make it a process so I don't forget again.

It's been a while, but doesn't Maritz make you call to request assignments when you first start out with them, then after so many shops you can self-assign?

I am really looking forward to the apps. There are a couple apps I use for other MSC's. I love the ease of input and time saved by closing out the jobs in the field. On the flip side, I've been reporting Maritz jobs from the field already. I Just open up the report on my phone, let it guide me through the audits, and add photos on site. It saves having to go home to input the information.
Sillysister: YES!!! I thought something was wrong with my computer. And it's a new computer! I was getting really upset. I am so glad to know it is not my new computer making me crazy when I try to type in the response box.
..an enormous company ? Seriously ? All I see are the same shops with the same clients month after month.
I like uploading all the pics at once when I'm at home on my pc. But I'm looking forward to being able to do the audits on my phone and being done when I leave. That would be amazing. I've tried opening the reports on my phone but it just doesn't format well.

I found out my issue was that Grammarly was conflicting with the site.
