Maritz routes

Does anyone have any tips/ insite about bidding Martiz routes? I've gotten a couple emails about routes in the past. This past couple weeks I've gotten several. I like the idea of having a big chunk of shops planned, and wider flexibility since they just require completion of 10% a week/ all done in 6-7 weeks. But here's what I don't get... The routes are normally only offering $1-$2 above the shops's base rate, even though they are often spread out over 50-100 miles, sometimes more. I've bid what I thought were realistic amounts considering the distance (not trying to "take advantage," just trying to make sure I'm not losing $), and have never gotten a response either way to my bids. No yes/no/counter... Just crickets.

Who's successful with bidding these routes? What's a general price per hour, or price per mile, that you work with when planning a route bid?

I have bid on these routes every time they come up. However, I bid very high. (recently I bid $2000.00 for a 50 location route). I have never had a response either. My guess is that the route is given to the shopper with the lowest bid and/or the least deletions from the route.
Yeah that's pretty much it. I can't recall if Ive ever had a bid accepted. I think I have once. With those most recent green routes they sent out, I determined pretty quickly that it made sense to take all that were offered because, although their method for building routes is just friggen awful, many of the routes had locations that sat inside other routes. I was able to pull out about 7-9 days worth of work from that.
