Market Force App

I just got an email from Market Force inviting me to download their just released app "Eyes: On".

Has anyone else tried it out yet? If it works it could really increase the profitability of many of the quick, low paying MF shops. I would be willing to do a lowish paying cell phone shop if I'm driving by and know I can get in and out, and report the shop, in 20 minutes. I also like to pick up fast food from MF if I' m going to be in the area and not having to seperately upload pics would definitely save some time.

It seems like MF with their low narrative reports is an ideal candidate for in-app reporting. I have my fingers crossed that there aren't to many bugs!

I definitely like the concept too! I am having trouble logging in - the app keeps freezing and saying "connection error" (not having this problem with any other apps or functions, so I don't think there's an actual Internet connection error). So I'll try again later but am eager to hear others' experiences!

There is no search function. Makes the app almost worthless.

I do most of my MF shops on my phone already so I'm not sure what this new app will add for me. I already do the shops on my phone, upload my photos and receipts, search for shops, reschedule shops...

Do you just open the regular website with a browser app?
One frustration with picking up shops on the fly with MF is that they use East coast time. Thus, if I want a shop on the West coast (which makes sense, since that is where I am), I have to apply three hours before the end of the shop time period. So, if I want a shop that has hours of 1pm to 6pm, I have to sign up for it before 3pm. This makes it really hard to pick up meal specific shops on the fly when doing a route. Sometimes I am in an out of the way place that I know is hard to fill, but am unable to take a shop. As a route shopper, I often cannot sign up for time specific shops in advance.
I'll test it out. As other said, I just go directly to the website on the built-in web browser on my phone.

I'm having some problems with it freezing up and "connection problem" error messages too.

I have had it for a few weeks now and have inputted partial shops on it. Like their forms it won't let you skip a page until you have finished that page so that sometimes means I fill in anything to get to the next page so I can answer a question. I also don't like that if you open up the form just to look at it, it thinks you are trying to input and you get a notification that you have an incomplete shop that they will cancel if not done by a certain time. The problem with that is the time I opened the form was about three days before the shop was even due. I wanted to just look at the form.

The application does not help much. There are no options to set the search area or radius. It does not use your profile search settings. Right now, looks like it is using my home address with a preset raduis. Is useless to me at work 20 miles north of my home.

I will try entering a survey after a shop tomorrow.

The assignment page can not be sorted.

To the OP: Just leave the shops for those of us that appreciate them.

Did you maybe mean this for someone other than the original poster? The OP was pretty neutral and this seems an unnecessarily grumpy response.

I never said that I don't appreciate MF jobs. I only mentioned that this app may increase the profitability of some shops by cutting down on the reporting time.

ie.
A 15 minute shop plus 5 minutes onsite reporting for $7.50 is worth $22.50 per hour.
A 15 minute shop plus 5 minutes of taking notes and getting a POV pic plus 10 minutes of reporting anc uploading the pic on a computer is worth $15 per hour.

Of course this may be a moot point anyway as it is contingent on the app working quickly and bug free which doesn' t seem to be the case yet.
Totally agree--I'm on the West Coast as well and it can definitely screw up scheduling/reporting with the time difference.
I apologize, I interpreted things differently than intended (low paying).

At this point, the app does not allow us to see shops based on our current location, as far as I can tell anyways. I will try entering the results of my upcoming shop, tomorrow, and review the results.

Actually, I think it does allow you to see shops based on where you are. I was getting on a plane in Atlanta and accidentally open the app and there were a bunch of airport shops for the airport right there that I was eligible to do. I had a quick layover or I would've grabbed one of the burger ones.
Thanks, everyone. I've been considering this app, as in general I like the idea of getting things done in the field.

I'll give this app a little time to see if some of the kinks get worked out.
I'll have to give it another look. I am in VA and I live nowhere near VA and it only showed me shops where I live.

From the email I received:

-Going away for the weekend? You’ll receive notifications with nearby jobs on the go. So why not stop at the next service station and have a bite to eat on us?
-Stuck for something to do? Take a look at our map and see assignments within 10 miles of your device or your home address depending on your location services setting.

It sounds like you should be able to find shops based on your location but maybe just within a 10 mile radius? I plan on trying it out in a few different places to see how it works for me.

I was able to reserve 5 gas station audits (non revealed) using the app even thou I reserved the maximum when they dropped. I tried spoofing my location by 300 miles but, only shops in my home area showed up.
@bgriffin : maybe you have to turn on the location services to get nearby results? I usually deny all that stuff by default and then turn on what I need as I start using a new app...
@Spanishtulip's note about notifications made me think of it. I haven't gotten any notifications and that's one of the things I would absolutely turn off by default when I'm installing a new app, so I bet there are settings that give the app more or less access to your location. Or else maybe these are features that are "coming soon".

Since I DETEST Android and love my Windows phone my Android is only used for MS related things. For that reason I turn on notifications and location services for everything. So neither of those should be the issue. Notice I said should be, lol. Will definitely double check.

The app has no options, that I can find. How did anyone expand the search area or change it?

Oh my word! And here I was thinking that I was the ONLY Windows phone user in the mystery shopper world!! Not many apps but I like my phone!! And I do have some halfway decent apps on it.

Somebody shoot me if I ever become such a boring person that I am stuck for something to do.
Yes. For instance, if you use FireFox, download that browser on your phone. If you have your user IDs and passwords saved in FF on your computer, they will sync to your phone.

I always run into bugs when using apps.

Yes and it works great already, so the app confused me. Some shop sites are difficult to use without an app but MF worked just fine.
Just used the app to complete a shop. Report submitted, receipt uploaded and CPI signed.
Great job Marketforce!

I was about to download the app but read the reviews first. The reviews on the app were not good..I access the site on my phone already through internet. I'm holding off on getting the app til it's improved some.

is anyone having difficulty submitting reports (online - not using app) today? I was unable to submit a report earlier today and now I cannot even access MF website
