Intellishop Rental Car Shops

I know there is an Intellishop thread just below, but I just completed a rental car survey for them, and so far it has been a nightmare. Without going into too many details, the amounts expected to be charged and reimbursed VASTLY exceeded the assignment. I talked with the contact and followed directions, then moments later I got what I assume was a robo-email saying that my assignment that was scheduled to be done yesterday and today was late and I risked being cited. I had just got off the phone with the company and was still completing the shop when I got the message, well within the assignment due date. Not sure how this one is going to end, but proceed with caution at this point. The pay was surprisingly high, so I bit. We shall see.

Out of curiosity, how many total hours did it take to complete the assignment (renting the cars online, time on-site, moving the cars to parking lot and moving them back, returning the online and the reports)? I'm assuming it was for the base fee of $100?

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
$100 for 2 days work just simply isn't enough.

Amen to that! Plus fronting money, hoping to be reimbursed?
Just can't work up any enthusiasm for that idea.
Here's my question. Do they give you a location to park these cars or are you supposed to just find one yourself?

" You will be required to rent cars from an assigned airport location, park them in a nearby parking lot and come back the next day to return the cars."

ETA:
Question #2: Some of these counters are feet away from each other. How is one going to pull that off if it's not busy?

No way! Even three underpaid apartment shops at $35 each would take less time and have not outlay of funds. (As long as they were not EPMS reports) Two apartment shops at reasonable pay would take less than a half a day and pay as much.

It took about an hour and a half on each end renting and returning, and maybe a half hour entering the information. The actual work end of it was fairly easy. I would say it was about 4 hours over two days. I live close to the airport and know my way around it very well so it wasn't very difficult.

There are a million parking lots around my airport, all are close, and all have a free shuttle back and forth so that was fairly easy, and they claim to reimburse parking.

I hope that you got to keep any rewards points. Otherwise, it seems like a ton of work, lots of running around and far too much risk (not getting paid for some random reason) for $100. You can't even drive the car basically?
Please make sure you and your scheduler are on the same page about your report being turned in on time because they will clobber your grade from a 10 to 8 or 7 if its late. Double check and let them know everything, that's all I am worried about.
After reading the guidelines of this shop, the only issues that I would have are whether the parking for costs for the three cars are reimbursed. Btemps is fortunate that he lives by an the airport and knows where to park, yet for the novice shopper, would it be safe to say that they may use the airport parking lot that can be anywhere from $12-18 per day? At maximum costs, that's $54 for an overnight. If Intelli-shop doesn't reimburse (I'm assuming that they do), then you are looking at a $46 or $50 shop for 2 days of work.

Curious to see how this works out for Btemps once Intelli-shop pays on July 21.
I move all my car rental points to an airline reward. One company already posted the points including a bonus for being a partner yesterday. That was definitely one of the perks. It comes out to about $25/hr even with the extra work so far.

I talked with and e-mailed the scheduler. The score is not my worry at this point. It sounds like a miscommunication between the MSC and the vendors on what is being charged to the shopper. Parking was $7 overnight, which I know is a steal.
Another quick update. The shop was reviewed and it was accepted and received a 10.
They do reimburse the parking fees for the shop. It is still a lot of out of pocket for a relatively small return on the time invested. It reminds me of another of their shops requiring a $200 purchase which is credited back later for a whopping $15 or $20 fee.

Hoping it ends up that way. I have assurance that my CC charges will be reimbursed. Parking is reimbursed, but it mentions that if you park on-site you will only get re-paid at a competitive rate for off-site locations. Thankfully the remote parking lot at my airport and the private joints have constant price wars.

After all is said and done, the fee and rewards earned will come close to paying for RT airfare to a city I travel to often for leisure.

If Intellishop ever has a shop worthwhile and they learn about it they'll quickly cut payment in 1/2....totally not like them to serve a purpose.
I love their casino shops. And I will do their oil change reimbursement only shops if I need an oil change.
I live about 12 miles from the bigger airport here in Chicago and for me this would be an all day affair on both ends....unless I could keep one of the cars and drive it home with me.

As I mentioned in another thread, rental companies, like airlines, have alliances. Am hoping that the agencies don't share one desk or are really close by so people would notice.

Silver certified (since 2009) and willing to do shops all around the greater Chicago, NW Indiana, and Southern Wisconsin areas (including airports!.

Is this the massage shop thread?

Another update for those following along and some comments.

I got what appears to be a mass e-mail from the project manager stating that reimbuirsement is being worked out, so that seems to be more good news.

For the question about rental company alliances, the three companies shopped are not partners with each other, such as Dollar/Thrifty...neither of these were part of the shop so I don't think any rules are broken! Two counters were next to each other separated by a pillar. I just entered the area from opposite sides for those two.
My log today updated the reimbursement amounts to the actual charges. Good news still...
For anyone still following along, I received payment and full reimbursement today.
I would like to do these car rental shops. Does anyone know who the scheduler for these shops is?

This. Bonus is up to $50 in some locations. I would do it again at my airport if I knew I was getting reimbursed, but there is a 60 day limit. Maybe if the bonus gets higher I will see how desperate they are about skipping rotation.
