Another Maritz question

I have been signed up with them forever. I have done one shop for them, sort of, I was called to do one with a bonus. I agreed and while I was in the parking lot of the shop(45 min away) I received a cancel email. Supposedly they will pay me for the shop, even though it was canceled.

My question, has this happened to anyone else and did they really pay you? Also, I applied for many shops with them that never get assigned to me. It's not that they are going to another shopper, I don't think they are assigned at all, they just sit there.

I'll confirm when I get the check, but if you talk with the Maritz folks, they are pretty reasonable... I signed up to do two Maritz shops that were three hours from my house for a very hefty bonus. Both were specifically shops where I was to drop by a store during business hours and ask to speak with a specific person (who really should have been on duty). I verified the hours online. However, at both locations, the specific person refused to see anybody without an appointment. Therefore, even after pushing a bit, I was unable to complete the shop.

Initially, I was told that, because I failed to fulfill the shop when I could have made an appointment and returned two days later, I was not going to get paid. I called Maritz several times before reaching somebody. I simply said that I was following the guidelines precisely and it was neither my fault nor Maritz's fault that the client did not provide the required contact and that the guidelines specifically told me NOT to make an appointment, which mean that I was set up with an impossible scenario. I also said that, as the location was a six hour round trip, I was not able to return another day. My message was relayed up the chain and I got an email the next day that I would be paid. I have no reason to think there will be a problem, but should be able to confirm by the end of the month.

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
I have been shopping with Maritz over 20 years and have never had a problem with payments. I have never had one cancelled while I was there though.
Maritz cancelled one on me years ago. I found out as I was driving to the location I was going to shop. They promised to pay, and they did. No problems.
