NEW SHOPPER~NEW TO FORUM

Hey to all MS's!!

I've been doing assignments w/BestMark, Trendsource and Inteli for roughly 2 months. I've found Trendsource as the best, offering more assignments in my area (Nashville, TN) than the others. They also have higher paying jobs with bonus $.

Does anyone here have suggestions as to other companies with great reputations and decent $ ?

Thanks - I really enjoy reading everyone's comments, strategies and insight.

Wow, shopping may be a little tough for you for a while because I suspect a lot of shops have been cancelled due to flooding and it is likely to be a while before they figure all their locations SHOULD be up and running as usual.

You are doing the right thing about reading through comments. You will find that most companies are reasonable and pay when they say they will. As for decent $, it all depends on your definition of "decent". Most are decent if minimum wage is your goal smiling smiley. Realistically, though, it is ultimately your experience with the schedulers/editors and clients in your area who will determine what companies you want to work with. You will find here folks who hate or love various of the big companies. I currently like Trendsource but last year they were low on my list of companies I was willing to work with. I used to like working with Bestmark but they now are verrrrrrry low on my list of companies I would accept a job from. I recently did jobs for companies others rave about and I was thoroughly disgusted with them. My favorite companies few are willing to shop for. This is not to avoid telling you anything but rather to tell you that you need to signup with and try a number of companies and see what looks right and feels right to you.
Trendsource use to be my favorite company to work for on the West Coast. Now, they are one of my least favorite to work with, because their shop rates have gotten to be pitiful, and there simply is not a lot of work out in this area to use them for. So they aren't willing to bonus, they don't have a lot of work out this way, and their contract rates have just gotten to be ridiculously low compared to other companies I work for.

Corporate Research International is currently my favorite company to work for. Although their rates start out low, they have A LOT of clients and the rates tend to increase pretty quickly. Plus, they pay every week as well.

Definitely would recommend them.
