Remington Rant

I am beyond frustrated with their manifesto narratives. I incorporate their editors' feedback from previous shops into the current shop. I've received a rating of 10 on one shop only. The last feedback that I received was basically a rewrite of my entire shop!

Another MSC pays the same base fee and last minute bonuses for similar shops, but the narratives are so much easier and the shop reports can be completed in four days.

Another MSC that does not specialize in apartment shops pays a bit more than half, and the report takes ten minutes.

All of the rushing and coordinating to get the shops done, and then rushing to get the report written and submitted only to have your report graded like you're in elementary school.

Okay, rant OVER. And I am OVER Remington.

Does the score mean that much? I MS'ed for small companies for years and wasn't even aware that I was being scored. As long as I get paid, the MSC can assign any number they want to the report. Doesn't bother me.

Remington rewrote one of my reports almost entirely. They sent me the two reports to compare side by side. It's a good teaching technique. Their report was much better than mine. So, they did the writing and I got paid. I'll take it! They respond quickly to questions and they are neutral in their corrections of grammar and misunderstandings. I like their style and how they interact with the shopper, but they do require lots of narrative written in a specific way. I sense that this is a company that rewards loyalty, so vent here and stay on their good side. If that's a wrong assumption, others will let me know smiling smiley
Chris, thank you for listening.

Why or how would anyone else know that an assumption is wrong about me? JC

As for the ratings, I'm a perfectionist. I appreciate seeing the highest scores on my shop reports. For their editors to rewrite an entire report and assign it a '9' is like a slap in the face to me; especially when I follow their writing guidelines to the letter. I'm glad you see it as a coaching tool. Why should I bother spending the hours and putting in the effort just to have them rewrite it and submit it?

I do appreciate them as an MSC. The scheduler is awesome, they pay on time, and the shops are fun for me. I can, however, do similar shops with different MSCs who have less intensive narratives and the same pay.
