Sherry. You have been informed -

Job posts go in the Jobs forum. Spamming the rest of the board does not help.
If you took decent care of your current shoppers - You would not need more.

Is this plain enough for you?...:p

Shopping Bama and parts of Georgia.
I'm still learning 24/7.
Sherry, you opened THREE posts in the wrong place last week for this same free advertising. Now you're back to open more? Posting the same redundant free ad in multiple places despite complaints from forum members and comments from ex-Sinclair shoppers shows disrespect for shoppers and for the forum. Use the Job Board. And if you want additional advertising, pay for it.....

I doesn't matter how plain you talk, mr c, it's a lack of respect for shoppers and for the forum ........ she hasn't bothered to READ any of our comments. She's too busy opening new threads to get as much free advertising as possible.
Apparently, she read enough to deactivate Mr. MC last week, when he complained then. Since then, I guess she stopped reading or is just like some of the others who post here in the wrong places or seeking to get free advertising, like some conference organizers. Pay for an ad, or use the job board. Geez. A mistake is one thing, but this is clearly beyond a mistake. This is similar to MSC's who can't bother to take the time to figure out what the correct zip codes they need to send to so they send to their whole DB. Speaks volumes. And it's not speaking well.

Not a very good advertisement for a company ...... this disrespect will certainly capture the attention of shoppers ..... not sure it will get Sinclair new shoppers................
All: I sincerely apologize for misinterpreting the use of these boards; I intended no disrespect at all. I am new to this particular site and apparently misunderstood the purpose of these boards.

I am just trying to get my shops filled and rustle up some new shoppers for areas in which we have open shops. (I also do not have any abilities to remove posts, shoppers or my own so that was definitely not my doing.)

Again, I apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused.
Sherry, the ads are fine in the section marked "Mystery Shopping Job Board". That is where schedulers are encouraged to post their needs and shops available! It is also an area where shoppers cannot respond to your post but rather need to PM or email you directly if you give them an email link.

We do encourage schedulers to post their needs there, just not all over the boards smiling smiley
Sherry. The action I refer to was done by Karen Origer. Care to be a Citizen and look into it?

My issue with the posts is that there may be shoppers in those areas already signed up with Sinclair, but are no longer able to assign shops.

I have always turned in accurate and detailed reports for my shops for Sinclair. They have also always been turned in by the posted deadline. By now since it is 'preferred' that they be turned in within 6 hours, I have not been able to view the job board since many of my reports are not turned in within 6 hours.

For me, in my area, that is usually not possible. The most common shop I completed for Sinclair was in a city almost 90 minutes away. The last two times I did that shop, I had no intention of traveling to that city, but the scheduler called and asked if I would, so I did it to try to be helpful.

Like I said, that city is about 90 minutes from me. The shop pays $15. I feel that is a fair fee for the shop (I have no problem with the fee), but that $15 will not even cover my gas to get there. Therefore, I have to schedule several shops in that city in order to cover the gas costs, usage of my car, and be left with a small profit. For that reason, it is often impossible for me to turn in a report within 6 hours. So, I guess I will not be able to fill some of those shops you mention.
Six hours is beyond ridiculous, most especially when they are calling you and asking you to go out of their way for them.

Six hours is ridiculous. Does Sinclair want shoppers to shop only for them and make a special trip for each shop? With a full-time job, I do this on the side for a little money and a lot of fun, and I frequently sandwich visits in on my lunch hour, then go back to work for the rest of the day. I often do a couple more shops on my way home, and I frequently have dinner before going home to do shop reports. I would have to significantly cut down on shops and go straight home to do reports .....
Lisam since your original post of not being able to see assignment, I've been watching and the same thing is happening to me. This morning I saw one that said 17 shops for XXX. It was exactly 43 minutes after the post, and surprise SORRY there are no shops for you!
happens to me all the time... spam... i dont check them any more...

The problem here is that their email usually says "**NEW** Shops Available from SCM" and it is the same-old, same-old that have been on their site for weeks because nobody will take. The standard ones here are an oil change for a vehicle that I don't have and a clothing store I am not eligible for due to age. It gets really, really old. Since I have marked in my profile the shops I am willing and eligible for and want to see and have done the certifications and kept them fairly current, it is noxious to keep seeing "**NEW** Shops" that I STILL am not eligible for, just as I was not eligible day before yesterday!

Yes, that is annoying. I expect to see the cooking store, and see something that has been there for weeks that I might do if it paid more, but won't do for the rate they are offering...and apparently, others feel the same, too, since it keeps
re-"NEW"ing itself. LOL.

I've tired of most of their shops except the cooking store. They all seem to require a purchase and $7 doesn't come close to buying anything at the high prices at these stores. I'm willing to add money at the cooking store because there is good stuff I can always use ..... LOL ..... between dining shops, I guess. But most of their clients sell high-priced merchandise I don't need or want and $7 doesn't go very far, so I hate to add unreimbursed money to buy something I don't want....... They are a nice company, though.
I recently signed up. I emailed the scheduler with the names and cities of the shops I could take. We had several emails back and forth about one of the towns. Then she sent me an email "here are the shops you asked for" ----she had signed me up for the wrong shops, and with the wrong shopper ID. I emailed her about that but have not heard back. I am unsure that my efforts there will be worth it, such as the briefings for every company. Does anyone have any input re: drug store and bank shops at Sinclair?
Doing an undesirable shop for Sinclair is like feeding a stray cat. Once you do it, they will keep coming back and pestering you for more.

I limit my shops with them to the cooking store because I can walk there from home, and like the scone mix (which conveniently fits right into the reimbursement). I guess it keeps my rating high since I input the shop quickly after performing it.
I generally do the cooking store (because I'm a sucker), the wholesale grocery and the banks. The banks are pretty standard and the pay for them is pretty standard. Their 'briefings' are no big deal but it is sort of a PITA to have to have them up to date before you can request the shop. It would be different if there was a quiz on the new briefing information, but if you have already qualified for the client, then it would seem that accepting the job prior to updating your briefing should work, but just not be totally confirmed for the work before you have done the check marks on the briefing.
Wow, 6 hours, really? That is comical. Many times when I was really out there shopping, I would be on the road for 4 hours at a clip, then I would get home and have to care for my kids who at that point would be getting out of school for the day. Once they were in bed I would tackle the day's reports, so my shops weren't entered for something like 10-12 hours. Never had any sort of problem with that routine, which makes sense, but then I again I don't shop for Sinclair. Unless they are paying a shopper big money (LOL) to perfrom a shop and then run home to enter it that doesn't make sense. Many of us build a route for the day.

I am a smart, college-educated person and an excellent shopper, but I woudn't be able to work for them either. Try to see it as their loss!
.....definitely their loss, Susan. They seem to have a lot of arbitrary rules and requirements. If someone examined those, they might not need to make such desperate-sounding calls for new shoppers.
Just got a email to do the "other" store, not the cooking shop. I buy linen napkins, place mats or other small stuff on sale for the 7.00 and send them to my daughter....still a fun shop and close to me.

Live consciously....
The six hour is just nuts. I can't believe that many shoppers meet that on a regular basis.

Maybe they do not. Maybe that is why we see many of these topics. winking smiley
I don't know that I have ever reported to them in more than six hours. I go do shops, come home and get busy reporting them. Shops today between 1 and 3 PM, I got home by 5PM and the first one was in by 5:30. The rest were all finished up by 7PM--and all could have waited at least until tonight, with a couple having a deadline of tomorrow. Get it done, get it off my desk.
I don't think I have ever reported anything for them less than 12-14 hours after, and more like 20.

I think 6 hour requirement for scheduling preference is a savvy move from them if you think about it.

You do 5 shops with a 24-hour window today and come home to put the reports in. Which one are you going to do first?
The easiest one, so I feel an immediate sense of accomplishment. :-)

Good point, Steve. Certainly when I sucker into an Ath with a 5 hour deadline it is the top of the heap to report even though I am likely to get them all in appropriately. During the cooler months there may be an issue with the Ath 5 hr because I am in the field longer and more likely to go far afield, so I need to be cognizant of that and try to put the Ath at the end or close to the end of the route.
