Maritz Representative Julie - Really Bad Experience

@French Farmer wrote:

I digress: I've never received any calls from Maritz at odd times, let alone from the mysterious "Julie".

Nor I. However, if I had a problem and placed a call to ad-min at Maritz and Julie returned my call a 9:00 pm I would have answered and thanked Julie for returning my call rather than complaining about the hour. And I don't think 9:00 pm is an unreasonable hour. If I am unavailable at that time I would let the call go to the answering service. In fact, I have called Maritz team 3 as late as 9:00 and was grateful that someone was there to answer the phone.

The person she spoke with is there to help us. She was rude and hung up on her twice. That is unacceptable! I don't get why you guys are beating up Nataliekorn! Maybe it was $1, maybe not. THAT PART doesn't matter! She made a mistake, called to fix it and the person was rude! If it had happened to any of you who feel the need to beat up Nataliekorn, you would have been irritated too.
They Do call at strange hours. They called me yesterday in fact and I declined a shop for distance and the rep said well we have other employees here today so I am sure another one will try calling you to convince you to take it. Hmmm miles are still miles, No is still no. Please do not keep calling me for the next state thank you very much.

Me too. But what some forum members seem to fail to remember is that we are dealing with different time zones. 9 PM on East Coast is three hours ahead of the West Coast making it only 6 PM there. I think that 6 PM and 9 PM are both very reasonable times for phone calls. If you don't want the call, put the phone on silent/vibration or just don't answer the phone. Really now? How hard of a concept is that?
Sybil, seriously do you always have to excuse someone else's bad behavior, including yours?

Count me in!

You know, I agree that we should not excuse bad behavior, but calling at 9PM does not seem like bad behavior to me. For me, 9 or 9:30 is getting to the line. After 10PM, I would not be willing to take phone calls. And Sybil makes a good point about not answering calls late at night. When I'm done for the day, my phone goes unanswered and voicemail can take the calls.

Sometimes folks do call not realizing there is a time difference. Many years ago when I had just moved to St. Louis for a 3-month stay, I unthinkingly called a friend at 9AM, a perfectly reasonable time.......EXCEPT I forgot that since she was in California, it was 6AM! My behavior was bad but not intentionally so.

What on Earth are you talking about? Are you one of the snowflakes?

I agree. I would much rather take a phone call at 9 PM or even 10 PM than say 7 AM. Other people find 7 AM perfectly acceptable. It is the old early birds vs. night owls.
@audrialyn30 Who committed "bad behavior" is the argument at hand. Is it the admin staff who offers and delivers help, or the IC who only accepts help conditionally?

Telemarketers used to be allowed to call between the hours of 8am and 9pm. If an IC asks for help, they should be willing to accept it between those hours, or state otherwise when first requesting help.

It is rude to call someone late period.

If I call somebody for help and they call me back, I'll be grateful, especially if they call me back after hours when I have no reason to expect them to be available. If they go to the trouble to call me back late at night to help me out after I've asked for help, I won't get snippy with them for calling me back "too late" and they would have no reason to hang up on me. If I were the editor/scheduler/MSC employee who called back late at night and I got a bunch of bad mouth I'd wonder what kind of ___________select the word of your choice here __________ I had on the line who'd give me grief when I called them back late at night to help them out in direct response to their request.

Landlines have a feature called "ringer off". Cell phones have a feature called "vibrate". Thoughtful shoppers in need of assistance have a feature called "Thank you so much for calling me back".

I totally agree that it is rude to call someone late at night. (sentence removed) Please define late for us. I think where we disagree is that I do not consider 9 PM late. Clearly, you DO consider 9PM late. What is late? 7PM? 8PM? 8:30 PM? As Chris Cooper said, telemaketers are permitted to call between 8AM and 9PM. I think that sets those hours as acceptable for telephone calls.

9:00 PM is definitely late. Furthermore, it is alarming and toxic of the rudeness expressed to korn. Do you all enjoy talking down and belittling someone? Does the rudeness and high school mentality ever stop? It is also comical that the same toxic posts are still up but yet mine are removed. Clearly, the mod has their favorites because not once has that poster been reprimanded.
Audrialyn, you don't know that a poster has or has not been reprimanded. I'm not going to do a search but I believe some of that poster's posts have been deleted and some corrections have been made, just as some of mine have been deleted and I've been slapped around a time or two when I deserved it.

Everybody has an opinion on almost any subject and my opinion of Sybil2 is that she's very often spot on even if a tad rough around the edges. You're no powder puff yourself and some of your criticisms of Sybil2 are harsh. I'm not going to say unwarranted, but I'm going to say harsh and over the edge.

It's not fair to say the mods play favorites. You have no way of knowing everything that has been reported or not reported and you have no way of knowing actions they may or may not have taken that are not apparent to you. It is a thankless job and they don't get many kudos.

So, here goes. All you mods working for nothing except to make a better forum, here's something for ya:

ATTAGIRL!! ATTAGUY!! Thank you.

(Mod note: Thank ya, thank ya, much appreciated)

I have you toggled for a reason Mdavis, Having an opinion is fine, but being insulting is another matter. My opinions STANDS!!!!!

Wow, what did I miss? Pots and kettles flying all over the place. Mods staying busy. Whiners who have not had enough wine yet. Just another Saturday night in the forum.

BTW, 9 PM is not late to me at all. In fact, it is early. The clubs don't even get going for a few more hours.
@audrialyn30, if you have MDavisnowell toggled, you for sure should have me toggled. Believe me, toggling me will help keep your blood pressure down. A glass of wine wouldn't hurt either. Have a nice night!
@ Sybil, since the moderators are content with leaving your toxic posts up, I am toggling you. Korn you do not have to tolerate her unacceptable and toxic behavior. It is clear that Sybil likes drama
@audrialyn30, what on Earth are you talking about? Just because I have a different concept of what constitutes "late" and the fact that I am aware of the different time zones in this country/world, does not mean that my posts are toxic.

And who are you to tell another forum member (aka Korn) what to do? Who died and made you the Forum Queen? You are sooooo wrong about me liking drama. That is why I am not a snowflake or a cupcake. I am not beautiful like a snowflake and I am not sweet like a cupcake.

{Handing you a glass of wine. Not sure if you like red, rose or white} I hope you feel better soon.
Audrilyn, you're entitled to your opinions, no problem with that. I'm entitled to defend the mods and say thank you for the work they do for free so we can have a better forum. I understand you think the mods are unfair but that's probably because you have a problem understanding when your post(s) may have been over the line.

I, myself, have been slapped around for calling other posters stupid (maybe that was dumb or ignorant, something along those lines, can't remember for sure) and for posting a racist joke. I know when I've been a bad girl. Maybe you don't know when you've been a bad girl so you think the mods are picking on you. Also, you seem to think the mods favor Sybil2 but I haven't seen any evidence of that and I think you're off track. The way it works is when you see a post you think is inappropriate, you report it. If enough posters keep reporting inappropriate posts perhaps the mods will take action. I'm pretty sure they base their actions on a combination of what the rules are, how many objections they get to a post, and their own interpretation of the post. Buy hey, what do I know? Not much, for sure. Just guessing.

Also, it doesn't do a bit of good to toggle the people who irritate you because what happens is you sneak a look because you've just gotta see what's going on. I know you do. Don't deny it. That's the way toggle works. All it does is point out for sure everything you absolutely MUST click on and check out because hey, it's the nut case posting again and a person might miss something.

Truly, I don't understand why you define disagreement as insult. There's a difference, I think, but whatever works for you works for me.

Hey, according to the latest Snapple commercial, almonds are part of the peach family. So does that mean I am a peach? winking smiley
Sybil2, dear, I don't think of you as a peach but my astute late husband told me anything's possible.
