Maritz Revealed gas station audit

Has anyone done one? Multiple pictures required - Twenty needed. 72 taken with Nikon camera with 640x480 which is what they required. So, now 3 pictures don't meet their standards. At midnight they sent the message saying there is 24 hrs to fix the problem. Question: has anyone else had problems with this shop - perhaps Texas?

Yep. I did 5 last Friday and 3 of them are on hold for 1 picture each. 1 of them is because I marked that they had frozen bars, popcorn and soup. I took a picture of the popcorn and soup and they want the one of the bars. I have never seen them so picky before.
$14 - it is $10.50 in my area and 2 gallons of gas and $2.00 in store purchase reimbursement. I hadn't done any in quite a while and now I know why.
There is another gas station audit that pays a little more and $5.00 gas & $1.00 store reimbursement. You have to take a picture of each pump. I use to do those but don't anymore. Trying to take a picture of each pump takes quite a while as cars come in and out, some people make phone calls after pumping too. It was crazy.
This was a revealed audit. You took a letter to the station. No gas purchase required.
Itsy - You got $14?...It is $10.50 out here in the west! You can hold out for the incentives, but they are few and far between on Maritz' gas station shops. The 2 team at Maritz has been REALLY picky for about a year now.....I send back argumentative email to them on about 1/3 of the "On Hold"2 team station shops....it is definitely a tough row to hoe......

that is why I do not do these types of shops anymore. Way too much work and risk. Not worth it.
At one station they had that special brand of sandwiches, slushies, and a fast food counter....I took photos of all , uploaded them, and the shop was put "on hold" because they wanted a better/closer photo of the menu board at the fast food place. I think that was editorial selectiveness! At other times they wanted just a close up of the slushie machine, and if the only food was a basket of fruit, they wanted a far away shot showing where the basket was placed in reference to the counter....sometimes the counter shot is too close, sometimes too far away (they look the same to me),,,,,I think that is just the quirks of the editor, though.
Picky, picky, picky, that's what they have been (if this is the yellow shop). I remember, some years ago, that the MSC employee said they like pictures, lots of pictures.

So, I have taken lots of pictures for these silly shops that don't pay as well as the others.

IMO, the editors must be under the gun. They have been asking for photos that are absolutely unctuous and not necessarily necessary. Really! You need another photo of the product with both aisles showing? Do you know that these shops are tiny and there really is little room, if any, to get both aisles?

Take a deep breath, silently say, "bite me" and submit the additional requested dumb donkey pic.

The moderator had already taken care of the violations so I am not sure why you had to edit it again.

I couldn't get the pan feature to work properly on my phone so I bought an inexpensive digital camera with an easy to use pan. I can take a picture of both sides of an aisle or an entire store from the corner or an entire restroom. Saves a lot of aggravation. I know how picky some editors can be, particularly the yellow stations. And I do take a lot of extra photos just in case. I recently resolved one hold by sending a second shot that I don't think was as good as the first but it was accepts and the hold removed.
I use my own, personal "Rule of 4". Interior shots, take a photo from each corner. Restrooms - four shots. Product and food photos, same thing, find four different shots (could be of the same item). Outside, they appear not to be so fastidious. But, for an overall shot, take a photo of the Cstore and canopy/pumps, leaving out the PID. Of course, always have an overall that includes the PID, no matter how obscured by foilage, etc.
BTW, I did some night shops for the yellow gas stations. Stupid me! They don't add any extra pay for those. Unless, of course, they sit on the list too long and then, get an incentive added.

Live and learn, live and learn.

I did several of these last year (all within five miles of my house). Had to go back to most locations for additional photos and said no more. However, last week there was a bonused location and I decided to accept it. I'm already regretting my decision.

I cannot believe this is the same Maritz that I have worked with for 5 years. The only time I have had something sent back was when I sent in the wrong receipt or picture. Right now I sent in a wrong gas receipt in September and they are giving me time to send it in when I return home in a couple of weeks. Every time I email or call about a question I hear right back the same day. I have done all types of gas stations and have never taken 72 pictures.
I agree with KathyG. Last round, I had to return to one location four times. What got me was a shop would get kicked back for photo A, then two days later would get kicked back for photo B etc. It got totally ridiculous. I ended up giving shops back. This round I finally got updated equipment where I can do entire shop while on location so I called and begged to do shops. I regretted it almost immediately. I have had to redo a couple of them because I couldn't find where their app saves the photos. When I use Mobiaudit all my pictures are saved in a folder called Mobiaudit. Not with their app! So I go do the redos and when I went to put my corrected info in, the shops had disappeared. So between the two shops I drove 100 miles and I'm out 24.00 spent on reimbursements. I call and email and yes they usually get back to you but it's usually someone that doesn't know how to correct the problem or they are going to talk to someone else and you never hear anything again. I have several shops I still need to complete and I want to do them but I don't feel comfortable starting new shops when I have outstanding issues that are not being solved. Now all of my shops are overdue. I'm so frustrated I don't know what to do.
I do a lot of shops like this and never have issues. I even do the same kind of shops for the same company but a different team and have had very few issues, if any.
I can't figure out why I'm having so many issues, it's not that difficult. Any pointers anyone???

You can't tell us which gas station / client it is because the MSC has been named. The MSC has told me NOT to use the app for the gas station shops that are assigned to me. I believe it has now been added to the guidelines also. Maybe you should just rely on the good old camera until they get the app problem fixed which could be awhile for this MSC.
Thank you for the info! It's a shame they didn't tell me. I am now out of 4 shops. And two of those four I did twice! Never could get any real assistance just phone calls and they pass it on to "someone" who will call you back. Never happens. Today Everytime I called got a out of service recording. I'm sure their phones are just down at least I hope that's the case.
From what I have read on the forum, I don't think the app will affect performing all gas station shops. I mainly perform shops for one brand and that specific brand can not be performed on the app. I do not know about the other brands.

As far as calling the team members, yes they are nice but most of them are useless. I wouldn't be surprised if they have to ask permission to use the restroom. They almost never know the answer to your question. The team supervisors are helpful but very hard to get them on the phone.

Sorry but this got an unwilling laugh from me. I do it all the time. I take them because the money is good and then I cuss myself when I see that "hold" on it. 95% of my other shops never get a hold. It's just that one yellow one.
After putting my toe in the water again with Maritz I think the station brand you do does make a difference. All of the nit-picking seems to come from one particular team.

I'm sorry for all the bad experiences you guys have had or having. But to be honest I'm so relieved I couldn't figure out why "I" kept having all these issues. It's nice to realize it's not just me.
Unfortunately for all of us they hold the purse strings! As I mentioned earlier I have six shops that are gone out of my current shop log. Four that I did but two of them I reshopped. I didnt just have to retake a picture, I did the entire shop including purchases.
I'm sorry I didn't have time to drop everything and drive over 150 miles the moment I read the hold email. But I did go and redo the shops. When I got home the shops were gone off my job board. The only explanation I could get from the phone gang was there were no shops removed from my account! So what are my chances of seeing any of that money??
When that happened I had 22 outstanding shops. I returned all shops that were 50 miles or more. I didn't wanna take a chance of 100 plus mile trip for a forecourt photo. Now I'm hesitant to do the 15 still in my box! I'm not generally a quitter but this situation is crazy. I'm not sure how to fix it or if it can be fixed. I hate to say it but it feels like they are using our shops and not paying us for our work. Well I'm starting to ramble. Thoughts anyone???

One last footnote: I just saw the shops I turned in o the board. They have bonuses some are 29.00! Your welcome, whoever attempts them!

What state do you live in? I received messages from Team 3 earlier today but I was too busy to return their call. A quick phone call to them is NOT quick.
