Anyway, this was 5 days ago and I am sweating bullets because I feel like the report was a disaster and I haven't heard anything about it!

Actually, there was a mix of place mats. The oldest was 10/2001. That's when they moved to the new location. I've Haz Mat the pants and shirt. Industrial wash.

Trust me, if my report was accepted with an evaluation of "10," yours will be also.

I did my first one. The shop was so well organized. We took 4 1/2 hours to complete the shop, though, because this dealer was owned/co-owned by another similar car dealership and they shared tools. They were located on a lot with about 6 buildings and we had to walk back and forth between them a few times to get some of the tools, take photos, and get records. The tool cabinet, though, was immaculately organized! They had 2015 mats, but everything was in it's place and the dealer was only missing about 4 tools out of EVERYTHING on the list. One of the machines was on order and their calibration records were meh-- but I took photos of invoices. They kept invoices for bills and payments to calibration techs so that was good. My next one/final one is tomorrow. I can only hope they are organized! Oh, and the first place had a company lunch so everyone was taking their lunch break. I did not see any instructions on how to handle this, so after about 2.5 hours, I also took a lunch break while the service manager ate. He didn't have to waste a day with me, but they scheduled him an extra hand that day so that he could spend the entire time with me checking for the audit. He had his own copy of the tool sheet and had already been through auditing his cabinet himself. Great guy! Now PLEASE let me second one go well. Oh, and they don't mention this, but when there are 4-6 mechanics in the garage, some tools will be IN USE haha but the manager was on top of himself and his staff.

And to the person who recommended a step ladder, THANK YOU. I am not a short woman, but I couldn't get good photos of the top 3-4 drawers even at 5'7". The step ladder was great! And the garage offered me a larger ladder to use too. The boots were unnecessary, however, I feel like if I had not worn them, I would have looked like I didn't think through being in a garage. The entire staff had on boots. I took the boots with me and put them on in the parking lot so I didn't have to drive in them.

WOW! Your audit did go well!

My dealership shared a wheel balancer with a neighboring facility, but I didn't think to go there to take the picture. I also didn't take pictures of the calibration records. You were thorough!

Mine took 3.0 hours including travel and about 40 min to report. A friend of mine was paid way more, but hers took forever as she had to unpack the tools to inventory them and the service manager was no help in locating shop equipment and records. IS was very fair with her, and I think 15.00 per hour was good for me.

Got a 9, which is great by me. I got a little confused on what some of the pieces of equipment were and they had to change an answer or two.

Has anyone gotten paid for this shop? I did mine in November, and I wasn't paid in December.

Honny-- I was paid for one of my shops from early December, but not the other tool audit. Did your reports get graded before December 28th? The one of mine that was graded before then was paid out on Dec. 28th with my others.

When i saw them for $85 i was interested but I waited a couple days, when I went to go look them up they went to $150. Sold! I applied for 7 and got 4 (of course they were the 4 farthest away of all of them.)

Each one took me about 2 hours, I love audits and miss the AT&T audits. My first one was extremely organized which was great. The others were pretty well organized but the 4th one was a lot of back and forth across a big shop so that one was about 2:20. I didn't do any crawling, for the serial numbers I needed I just took pictures and 2 of the places had them all printed out for me. I did forget 2 photos at one far away location, but the day I went back there was an open steak at the bar shop a few minutes away so no big deal.

I printed everything at the UPS store for $13 and I even printed the audit sheets on card stock so I wouldn't need a clipboard plus it just made it super easy. I also tried to make it as expensive as possible to support local business. I know it's "wrong" to many here, but reimbursement to me = get as close as possible or in some cases a minimum to spend.

As a Christmas bonus I just found out last week that I was assigned a 5th one at the $200 mark and I got paid for the other 4 before the new year.

quiet, I like your idea of supporting local businesses! I will keep that in mind.

I did one shop. It was rated in December. I have to start chasing them.

Yes you should, I did 4 in December as late as 12/15 and got paid for all 12/30

I rarely shop for them as the editors always want more and more for the reports. Plus they usually don't ask for more info within 24-48 hours.

That's true. I did the audit on the 22nd, and then while out of town they ask me to edit all my responses, on the 29th. I didn't check the OG pkg. box for some of the tools, so I did make an error.... but only because I still had the pictures in my phone, was I able to respond.

The actual audit took me 3.5 hours, even with a very helpful mechanic, but the report took me over 2. Maybe I'm slower than some of you guys, but I hate reports, that drag on, with lag time.

Hopefully you got the higher pay rate (not $75)

My input wasn't bad at all but the garage was only missing 2 or 3 things at both places! They were excellent. The second garage tech had even filled in all the serial numbers and models and everything for me so I just double checked his records. It was pretty awesome! They were all so great. I was happy to get these audits and would have gladly done more after I got a taste.

I was paid for my shop yesterday. That was a nice surprise because I was expecting it later in the month.
