The Source ( Trendsource) and time it takes for assignment approval?

Any idea how long it usually takes for The Source to approve an assignment once you apply for it? I applied for one earlier today with the intention to complete it tomorrow but it's still listed as under review.

There's a good chance that you are the backup in case the person who was assigned the shop falls through. You can delete the application if it gets to the point that you would no longer want the assignment.
Did you ask for PAD? If you ask for distance pay, it can take a while. I have one assignment out there that is rarely ever picked up. It's a rural area, 2.5 hours from me. I always ask for around $50 distance pay for it... because it's near my mom & grandmas house grinning smiley Otherwise, I wouldn't snag it up or ask for a lower payment for such a long journey. Anyway, this can take 6 weeks at time to assign. When I ask for $3-$25 it can be same or next day, or within 2 weeks. Is this your first show with them? If you're still under the first 5 shops, it may take them a day or two to get back to you since you're new. You can always reach out and provide more info about yourself as a shopper if you want more, faster. I found a great scheduler my first week smiling smiley I performed 112 shops for them last year.

Nope, didn't ask for PAD this time so thought it would be approved right away. I'll check again in the a.m. and if not approved will go ahead and see if I can delete my request. I don't want to do the shop on Sunday and can't spend all day Saturday waiting to be approved. Thanks for the replies!
As far as I know, you cannot delete an application by yourself. You would have to send a message to support to ask them to delete it for you. But you can see if you are the backup...if there is a "B" to the left of the job, you are a backup. If there is an "R" to the left of the job, they just haven't gotten around to assigning it yet. Usually it doesn't take more than a day, though.

There's still an "R" next to the assignment. I guess this will be a lesson to me to only apply with MSC I can self assign. That way, I can make plans in advance and schedule my day. I had applied with a different MSC to do a small restaurant way out in the sticks that had been sitting on the board FOREVER..... just so happened my job was taking me right past it. Never did hear back from the MSC and the job is still posted. I was able to delete my application for that one. Wonder why these companies aren't quicker to assign jobs or utilize the self assign option? Are they short staffed and just don't have the manpower to be checking applications?
I can self assign for some shops that come up regularly each month. But now, the special Health Care Shops are up, and I've applied for one that I'd like to do towards the end of November...it's date specific...it's still in Request mode. I have found that for special shops like this, they usually don't get assigned -- either as Accepted or Backup -- until the actual due date gets closer. So I won't know either way probably till sometime after Nov 20th or so, since the shop is date specific for the 28th of Nov....YMMV
They are so hit or miss. Some inspections I apply for, with or without PAD, and they are assigned immediately.

I applied for an inspection yesterday, with PAD, and got a pop up that it was assigned to me. It still shows as available.

What gets me is the fact that they can take days to assign the inspection, but I have to make the initial call in 4 hours.

The lemonade shop was assigned within the hour. The informal health care shop was assigned the same day.

That's because the scheduler is waiting for a nearby Agent to grab the bait. The project fee is ridiculous if you do not have other assignments within the area. If not request PAD. They're making enough profit to pay you better. This includes their overhead expenses factored into the equation.
I know what the client charges their contact. And what the company charges the client for an FCRA inspection. Best advice! Do your homework.
Most Field Agents are doing FCRA inspection without EO and General Liability insurance policy. That's playing roulette with a loaded gun! You're a Independent Contractor and not their employee

Does anyone know if there is a way to delete the applications?

I put in for 5 jobs (all with PAD of course). One was completed (sucker). Four have the big blue R next to the applications. I am for certain now not interested, as I have a better job lined up after hearing nothing for today. I'd like to delete these or do I need to send a message now?

I wish I knew how as well! I put in my request for a health care shop on Nov 7th....due date is TOMORROW the 28th! So on Wed, the 23rd, knowing they would be closed until this coming Monday, I wrote via the support link, asking to REMOVE my request for that shop.....I'm not about to commit to a job now that I had requested on the 7th, and due tomorrow, and still have no idea if I have it or not. At least if it was in Backup, I'd have some idea. But it's still in Request mode....nope....ain't happening now. Too bad. If they assign it to me tomorrow, when it's due tomorrow, I'll have to write back and say, sorry, too late.

Unlike most MSC's you can't delete a request for a shop. BUT when they assign you the shop you have to accept it. So you can just decline at that point with no hits to your reliability reputation.

Thank you for that.

I'm at a theme park.

Good to know, Coffee...thanks!
If you asked for PAD, you can accept or decline the shop when it comes through. Another thing I like is that they do not disappear from your acceptance board after X amount of hours. If you have a shop you can't take today, but no one else takes it, check back again and tomorrow it may have new dates and still be in your acceptance "bank". I've done this a few times and like that option. I don't want to leave them hanging and wondering, but occasionally, a shop will have PAD and I'll just be too swamped that day but the next is wide open.

They take their time for the shops (medicare) that are on the board now. I waited a week, was assigned and called the Agent. He said he does not do shops for AARP, United Healthcare or Medicare...he works only for business groups. I have a feeling many are going to be this way. Got zero for the phone call.

Hmm. Today is the 30th. I guess that they don't want those grocery stores done after all. I'm no longer available anyway. smiling smiley Still sitting in "R" status.
Not a happy camper right now...they just send 5 text's begging me to do a job tonight. I'm going out to dinner I tell him, sorry unable to do it. I then am asked if tomorrow would work, that is their deadline. I text back asking for a bonus (pad), it is 10 miles in rush hour and I don't need anything especially writing that report.
He text's back saying he is low on cash, can't I just do it. I have asked them numerous times to stop texting, still texting......I have done them favors time after time.... put a fork in me, I'm done. I have never received any pad./bonus...what would you do?

update: after above fiasco, I just got a call from another scheduler and told her about my problem of being bullied into taking a last minute job with no pad (above). I got an apology and an offer of a decent pad if
I can do it today, which I will. She also said this scheduler was helping out as my normal scheduler is no longer
with the Company. I appreciate the conversion and things were worked out to appease both of us.

I still haven't been able to do any shops for this company. I request assignments several days ahead, sometimes without PAD if I'm passing by anyway and I never hear back until AFTER the date they said it needed done?? By then, it's too late, I've got other things lined up!
Did you ask for PAD? Or are you new to Trendsource? Those are the things that will hold up your assignments.

They won't approve PAD if they can get someone else to do it without PAD.
I notice they tend to use the same shoppers over and over with no wait (even for their restaurants). I'm happy to say I'm one calling me constantly for shops....i almost hate to say no and do help them often without pad.

Hey, Cheltie, with this company you have to wait to get "self-assign" status; if you didn't already know that. If you want their phone number, I have it. PM me, or anyone of the long timers here and I'll give it to you or someone else can. Then, you can call and talk to the scheduler and get assignments directly. Then, they can text you at all hours and hound you to get the jobs they need done. jk, I don't mind. But, Leonard, he had better not ever call me again because he's a presumptuous, entitled pos who did not say thank you when I said thank you, he said hmmmm and hung up without a pleasant closing.

They lost one of their better scheduler's and have a couple "helpers", I actually called and complained about one who was rude and wouldn't stop texting after I told him no 3 times. I got an apology and won't work with him, whose name is Clinton....beware.

That's unfortunate Irene sad smiley I have about half a dozen or more schedulers that I love to work with for Trendsource. My service here is awful, so I'm happy when they text me but fortunately I've never had a rude one.

It was the first time in years...I worked with Donald who was great, but no longer there. I mentioned this rude one was just helping out, so, if he gives service as he he gave me, I'm sure he'll be gone. I do at least 3 jobs a week for them, so, it really doesn't effect the big picture for me, was just disappointing.
