Maritz has reached a new low.

I was assigned a number of Yellow gas station shops (with nighttime eligibility) and the date range for the actual shop completion ended 1/22.
I completed 7 shops (in the pouring rain, no less!) on the evening of 1/22, getting home at midnight. Checked the Maritz board...yep! All shops ready to be entered and posted ... Figured I would get some shut-eye and start entering in the AM.
Set the alarm for 3:30 AM and woke up early....to.... wait for it....Ta Da! The shops had been removed! Three emails and two phone calls (as we know, that is Martiz' preferred method of communication)...no response from Maritz.
As of this writing, the shops are past Maritz' own 24 hour standard for 'debriefing'.
I am not hopeful about getting paid for these and many others. I think I pissed them off.

Ah well...my advice to all who read this: stay away from this very large but squirrelly and (certainly) Neandrathal MSC....ten foot pole time!

Update 1/24 5:17 PM MaritzCX time....no call, no email, no letter, nothing....
Update 1/25 1:30 PM MaritzCX time----I have placed five MORE calls to MaritzCX to try to resolve this;
no resolution...only got to talk to one person who promised to call me back (she didn't) and four messages were not returned, either by telephone or email.
Update 1/26 3:43 PM MaritzCX time - two more calls, one more email...no response.

Maritz requires you to debrief within 12 hours. If the reports haven't been completed by the deadline, they will in fact remove the assignments from you. I would get on the phone and beg to get them back since you've done the work. May work. May not. Really depends on who answers the phone. That's always a crap shoot with Maritz.

I know this because it happened to me. Luckily for me though, it was a shop that I did not want to complete. What was odd though - I had sent in an email and left voicemail advising them that there was an issue with the shop and I needed to speak with someone. They still pulled the assignment from me. I didn't ask for it back - I was relieved. But, I'm sure I received a "bad" mark. LOL

I have been with Maritz for over 25 years and love them. Their debriefing is 12 hours as COMystery has stated.
In any event, the shops were pulled before the 12 hours were up, according to the OP. I have never had this happen to me, but I don't do many of the yellow stations. I do know the yellow team usually calls on the due date to check the status, but in this case it fell on a Sunday, so that probably wouldn't apply.

Seven shops in the rain at night was stressful, I'm sure. I would be upset too. I would have called all day until I finally got through, even if I had to hit redial for an hour, assuming I had the time. Keep calling until you reach someone. They may be able to reopen the shops.
I'm not sure why some of you are having your shops removed unless it is client-specific. (I no longer perform the yellow shops because they and their editors are PITAs.) I have never had a shop removed unless I requested to have it removed. I have gone past the 12-hour deadline many times. I get the overdue notices and sometimes the annoying phone call but never had a shop removed. Maybe having a solid track record over several years has helped me.
I hadn't seen the yellow shops for a long time then a few came up and I took some (did a route on a Saturday). Most of them went on hold due to picture. Then I remembered why I didn't like doing them. They didn't use to put them on hold so easily. :-(
Cease- I was tryuing to debrief within the 12 hour time limit....and, by the way, the yellow gas station shop has a prompt which asks you WHY you are debriefing after 24 HOURS, if that is the case....so their standard for these shops is 24 hours, not 12!...Still, I was going to debrief within 12 hours on all of them! That is why I got us at 3:30 AM!!!
pegleg-their stated policy is 12 hours...I was ready to debrief at 10.5 hours for the first one....so that issue doesn't apply. In fact, their "real" policy is "whatever works"...I have often completed the debrief past the 24 hour period and had it accepted....hundreds of times...I have done over a xxxxx shops for Maritz...they have gotten tougher to work with, and i am pretty sure they are profit driven.Updated 1/23ushback from their editors has gotten ludicrous (as many on this board can attest!) and I know I have more experience doing this than anyone in their company, even their CEO. I always liked them, because despite the low pay, they paid quickly.
What DOES apply is their inability to call or write me back....."What we have here is a failure to communicate...".....like my dear departed Daddy used to say....."F' 'em."

@winemaker---------->"..............................................and the date range for the actual shop completion ended 1/22."
I take this statement to mean that my shops need to completed, reported, and submitted by 1/22. If you went to sleep and expected to get up at 330, you had already invalidated your shops. They were not submitted by 1/22. With a date range, in part of your commitment, to preform the shops. You definitely had enough time to complete, report and submit your shops.

I am not hating on you but regardless of what else you had to do, you agreed and signed up to have those job submitted by the 1/22.

Call and speak to someone on the team. Throw your life on the sword. If possible, submit the reports, pray everything passes, get paid, and back away from Maritz. smiling smiley
sojo...I know you are trying to find fault with how I did this...but let's be clear....these shops had to be completed (NOT debriefed) by 1/22 at midnight. That was done....3 1/2 hours later, the shops were removed.
Call another team accidentally. I try that approach sometimes and then play stupid. They end up transferring me to the correct team. It may be a way to get around that team being asleep at the wheel. I wish you luck - Maritz can dig a hole in the sand and not budge at times. Actually, I would call incessantly until someone answered the phone. Have they reposted the shops? They never did repost the one that they had taken from me.

To answer you question Sybil, no it is not just one client. My shop was a bank shop. BUT, in the message I had sent them I did state that I would prefer NOT to re-do the shop if possible due to distance. It is possible that they pulled it for that reason. But, I have a very strong sense that it was done automatically.

I would have assumed something similar to sojo917, that the jobs had to be performed and submitted by 1/22 midnight the MSC's time zone. But, I don't do much night shopping and usually submit long before deadlines are due because I can never trust how long a report will really take me.
.....................And perhaps your definition for completed and submitted is different from the definition the MSC rules by.

Why go to sleep 3 1/2 hours earlier when you could have gone to sleep 3 1/2 later after the reports were donetongue sticking out smileygrinning smileytongue sticking out smileyconfused smileytongue sticking out smileyangry smileytongue sticking out smiley

I have a feeling that this is a computer generated problem. The computer's default to eliminating the shops on your page is somewhere after the time zone in which it is set. You probably already knew this.

I've never had that situation happen to me and I have performed shops on their last day. I am not that much of a risk taker, so, as soon as I have completed the shops and returned home or to a designated computer hotspot, I submit my reports.

I find it difficult to side with either side. All I can say is for you to call and calmly explain your situation.

We all have our individual decision making standards. For me, I could not go to sleep and then wake up and submit the reports. Especially knowing that the shops were at their last day of submission.
I have always found Maritz to be very fair and helpful. If there has ever been a problem it was due to a mistake I made. They have always returned my calls and been very understanding when I mess up. I love the company
If the shops are removed from you they will not show up on the board. You can have someone else who is a Maritz shopper see if they are still there. If they are, there is no reason they would not want your information debriefed. Regardless I would call and speak with a supervisor as Maritz is not a company that cheats its shoppers. If the job is done according to their requirements they pay for the job.
@Winemaker - were you able to get anywhere with Maritz today?

Keep in mind, @winemaker----->"I completed 7 shops (in the pouring rain, no less!) on the evening of 1/22, getting home at midnight."

SEVEN shops were not submitted by the OP, not 1.

How do you want MaritzCX to handle this? 7 shops. angry smileyangry smiley

@ddeblois-------->"You can have someone else who is a Maritz shopper see if they are still there."

While the MCX board is not like MF board. I may not see what shops another shopper is privacy too. My board shows another retail, only, not the OPs retail.
COM---two calls from me, two voice mails left....no calls back. One email left, no response. I am going to give up after today...Aaarghhh!
Sojo, Well, I would have liked is: to submit the shops per normal and get paid, per normal.....just like every week for the past three years with MaritzCX.
ddeblois - Over 3+ years, MaritzCX has indeed "cheated" me on two other occasions. I should have quit them before, but I wrote it off as one of use "un-fixable" glitches that occur with big MSCs. This time, though, they have really fried my fish....no more....
I am having issues getting reinstated on the (gas) shops due to a removal three years ago, but I have plenty of (gas) Audits. I am completely satisfied with Maritz, although it is sometimes hard to get a specific worker on the phone, but I have requested extension numbers for the ones I work with regularly. All in all, MaritzCX is BY FAR the best of the best as far as I am concerned. Makes my car payment and insurance!!

Mod note: Linking MSCs with their clientele is a violaton of Forum rules and probably also a breach of your ICA
ABSOLUTLEY!! I agree with you. I have made my own mistakes and had to "eat the difference", but they are fair!
Edited because mod fixed the ICA violations in the post above....

I have needed more time and have started the shop(s) with date, time, all receipts entered, and some of the info; then SAVE.This is before midnight. Also write Maritz an email that you will finish at a particular time. This has worked for me. Love to all, Signed, Night Owl at 7:21 pm
