Maritz help please

I haven't used their app yet. If I have time I would like to pick up some shops on the fly next week's 2 day run.

I'll be in back country dinky towns with no way to print forms. If shops are still available I would love to pick up some dark eligible shops on the way home.

I've had horrible luck with Sassie Rover and I'm afraid to use the Maritz app.

Any ideas, suggestions, wisdom?

Thank you...MaryAnn

I've only used it on the stations I think you are talking about and I love it. I too was leery of using it, but I finally got up my nerve. It follows the printed report and you take your photo as you go. It took me a couple of shops to really feel confident, but then it was second nature, It does take a little longer at the site, but it is worth it not to have to go home and sort through photo. Try it, you'll like it.
My advice to you is see if you can get one near by location, and zip out and try out the app on it.

That'll give you practice, plus if it doesn't work, you'll be able to do the report at home without great inconvenience.

In fact, that's exactly what I'm planning to do, myself!

And my "nearest" gas station is 45 miles away!

If you click the help link at the top of the Maritz page, there is a several page tutorial with a ton of information about how to use the app. I'm starting a route next week so I printed it out to take with me. I'll do 3 close by to get the hang of it and then I"ll start using it all the time. Too bad we can't use it on the yellow stations though.
Some of their shops they are not recommending using the app at this time. I think there are still a few glitches they haven't worked out depending on the type of shop. Check your instructions. Good luck.

ceasesmith the distance is my biggest issue. I don't mind backing up the work with the camera, but holy canoli's the one way from my house is a beast. I'm not confident with the gas shops.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'll see if I have the energy after my big run this week. What's the worst that can happen, I'll get multiple emails to fix the report. Been there, done that more than I care to admit.

Thank you CoffeeQueen for that gem; now I at least to know where to look for help.

I've been using the Mobi and Trendsource apps, along with a few others, since they first came out and tend to give high priority to scheduling those shops where I can use those apps because I love them so much. Even though I'm now considered a senior, I embrace new technology.

However, when Maritz announced their new app, I approached it with trepidation, not because it was new, but because it came from Maritz. I think most of you get my drift.

The app can be used on the bank shops and the yellow gas stations. I also used it on one pegusus station not knowing I wasn't supposed to. I was told after the fact that I would likely lose all my photos but it went through just fine.

Here are my thoughts. The banks are super easy on the app. It is wonderful to do the reports immediately and not have to deal with photo resizing, etc.

The yellow gas station shops take a little longer but to me it is well worth it not to have to go home after a long day on the road and have to deal with Maritz' antiquated way of reporting.

The down side to the app:

You cannot jump around the questions. The questions are in the exact same order as the online questionnaire and you have to input your answers and photos in exact order. Logical items are not necessarily grouped together.

For example, you cannot take the photo of the women's restroom until you have taken the photo of the men's restroom. So if there is a line for the men's room, you stop your shop until it is your turn.

Once you get to the women's restroom you cannot take the photo of your vest and manual. That comes at the end so you have to go back in there.

There are a number of instances where you are back and forth several times. It's even worse for the Pegusus shops where the app forces you to take the photos of the pumps in chronological order. You spend a lot of time waiting on customers to finish up.

The other two problems are that you cannot invoice from the app and you cannot send in corrections from the app.

If anyone has found workarounds or menus that I haven't found, please share.

Overall, I like the app. If they would at least give us the ability to jump around the questions like you can with Mobi and Trendsource, it would be an excellent app.

Also, if you hit the wrong button it may kick you out. If so, it will save your answers as long as you had an internet connection, but you will have to click through each question to get back to the same point.
And I may be mixing up my red, white and blue stations. My comments above are in reference to the one where you have to take a pic of every pump. It's late and I suddenly can't remember which one had the "flying horse" as we called it as children.

Thank you for your insight. It helps. My phone gets all wacky and I'm not sure I trust it. I'll think about these shops after my big run is over this week.

I understand the mixing up. Red, white and blue have nothing to do with flying horses, where I live although we do have that brand here. Then again, I'm old enough to remember the original logo for the company.

Thank you for your help.

Has anyone else noticed that the link to submit the overall photos in the red, white and blue, every pump shop has disappeared and now photos can only be uploaded at the end of the report? (for the overall photos) I sometimes take many more than two to make sure I'm covering all bases. I wish they would put it back. But now I have to remember I can only get two to go through..the sneaky way by leaving one out at the end and getting the second chance to submit an additional one.

Regarding the 'reveal' gas station shops for Maritz.....there is one big drawback. Revealing yourself as a MS means you get remembered, and once they remember you often enough (usually twice, sometimes only once, sometimes it takes three times) they can request, through their franchisee/owner or parent company, to not have you assigned because they 'know' you. Maritz' answer has usually been to remove the OP from that client, period. So, for example, you have been spotted at one yellow gas station shop....next thing you know, you can't even self assign ANY yellow station shops....Occasionally, you can talk your way out of it, but Martitz has built in a lot of layers to make OP communication on their policies very difficult. So, taking low $$ in the hope of continuing routes for gas station shops in the future can backfire as a strategy, and can often lead to banishment, simply because of the nature of the "reveal' shops.
