What do I do if the Maritz bank does not offer any documentation to take home?

During my last two Maritz bank shops, I was required to leave with several documents. However, neither bank employee offered them voluntarily. At the end of our interaction, I paused and waited, and the bank employees just looked at me. At that point, I asked if they had anything I could take with me, and they seemed confused but finally gave me the required documents. (I'm assuming they were confused because the information I requested was readily available online, and the documents had little information about the specific topic we discussed.)

Is part of the shop to see if the bank employee gives me the documents without me asking? Or, is the client interested more in what is in the documents?

That might depend on the state you're in. In NJ, there is a new requirement that you may or may not be assigned to ask for the docs if they're not provided. You'll have to read your guidelines to see if it applies to other states if you're not in NJ. In the past, if I wasn't provided with the docs to take with me, I would give a nudge to get them, like, "Do you have anything printed with that information that I can review at home?" Sounds like you did okay, unless you're in NJ.

Yes, Martiz sets us up for failure on their credit card inquiry shop. Each time the banker has no intention of providing the folder. They state that there is little to no information included in the folder. I have learned to work around this, knowing that I need those documents to get paid. If I have to ask a question about a product that I know is in the folder, so be it. Bottom line ...If we don't get those documents - we won't be paid.

I don't think its part of the shop to determine IF they give us documents. They would have to ask a clarifying question like, "Did the banker give them to you without your having to request?"

If I"m not offered something by the end of the discussion I"ll ask for something to take home and review with my spouse. I don't ask for anything specific because seeing what they give you is part of the shop, or that's what I was told, anyway. I did one yesterday where I wasn't offered anything, and when I asked I was only given a rate sheet. We'll see what happens with that one, but I detailed how I asked for documents at the bottom.
The questions and guidelines appeared all messed up this month to me. The questions in the printout version of the report asked if you were assigned to ask for the docs if they're not provided, like MsJudi said. The online form of the report had different questions and didn't ask about being assigned a scenario. The guidelines had a third set of questions (or order of questions) from the two report versions and also didn't mention the scenarios.

My guidelines didn't specify so I ask for something to take home and look over.
About 6 months ago I asked a banker for info to take home. She flatly refused saying she could not give that out unless I opened an account. I got only her card and reported exactly what happened. Not only did I get paid but the report was never even returned to me for clarification!
There are questions on those reports that handle just that scenario -- no documentation. You are required to get a business card, but that's it. If the banker doesn't provide it, you should be good, just note it on the documentation.

My banks all gave me the documentation without an issue.
