National Shopping Service Network?

Does anybody know anything about this company? I found it while doing a search for casual dining mystery shops. Their website was www.mysteryshopper.net. They looked legitimate but I don't like giving out my information if I am not sure. I know I am full of questions. I guess that comes with being new, anyway you guys are great. Thanks for all your help!

Hmmm. I do not know. I've done a few shops for a National Shopping Service, but that is not their website.
Most of us who do shops do so with National Shopping Service, whose website is [www.nationalshoppingservice.com] I don't think I have ever signed up with National Shopping Service Network, though indeed the website you quote is on the list of companies here on the forum. It looks pretty cheesey somehow.
Their shops are very limited to pick from as they only have 2 major national clients that seem to use them regularly. One of them is a pizza retailer and the other a desert retailer.

The downsides are that:

The pay for the first part of the month is mostly all reimbursement of the required purchase. Bonuses are not offered at first.

If you complete a job in June, do not expect to receive a check until the first week of August.

They don't do direct deposit.

As stated, their shops are very limited.

The plus side, however ....

Once they do bonus, they bonus VERY high.

Their evaluation forms are pretty easy.

They are a pleasure to deal with, are very friendly and helpful to their shoppers, and treat you with absolute class and respect.

I hope that helps. I really wish they were able to pick up more clients.
Are you talking NSS Network or NSS? NSS in my market is the one with pizza and italian ices.
I had the same question, as I have shopped for both. NSSN does not have a job board to my knowledge, as I only get offers via email. They are super small, nice to deal with, and pay very well. I have only done shops that they had for a window dressing mfg. company checking up on it's local vendors.

If this is about NSS and not NSSN, they have some other clients who may or may not be in your market. I know of a restaurant and several high end designer boutiques that they have here. They, like CoRI, start out paying low, but no one seems to go as low as CoRI. I do those shops when the pay is $15 and I negotiate a bonus to $50. Yes, they also have pizza. I only do that one when it is bonused to $25 or above. It's a good last minute lunch box item for the kid on a day we are running late.

I have only ever seen in-home shops for this company in my area. Usually for window coverings and the like. Pros and cons to these, as the demonstrator can stay for hours if you're not careful. That being said, this company does pay about 45 days after the job is completed.
That is NSSN, not NSS, correct, jdfg?

Well, there are a few designer boutiques you mention that pop up once in a while, however they aren't listed in an abundance. That and a furniture store, as well, which is listed with less frequency. But by far and large the only two clients you see are the pizza client we all know about and the dessert client.

On a side not, I never knew about NSSN as existing, and obviously didn't realize it has the same name as NSS. If that is who the thread was intended to be about, I apologize to the OP for talking about the wrong MSC.

Well, I am totally confused with all these initials! Yes, the window covering shops were for NSSN. I've actually only ever seen those shops offered for them; no pizza or dessert which I would be much more excited about!! NSS seems to be a much more active company.

The dessert place is not in this market. The designer places are here monthly, as is the pizza. Again, that is NSS, not NSSN, the company with the window dressing shops and the ugly website.

Thanks to all of you! I think I will pass on this one. I've already signed up with a lot of MSC that have few or no shops in my area. It takes me a good while to check all the job boards just to see, "Sorry no jobs in your area at this time." (Thinking about taking them off my daily check list and just wait for emails from them.)
However I do have a few that are offering several jobs.
Any way thanks all! Mabe some day I'll have something to add to the group. Right now just enjoying reading all of your post! By the way I am in south Georgia, anybody out there in my neck of the woods. I get the idea that most of you come from the same area or am I wrong? Gosh I guess a couple of different threads could come from my lengthy post.
NO, we do not come from the same area. We are spread out all over the country. Some of us have just been here long enough to "know" our peers, even if we could not recognize each other on the street. :=) I would sign up for NSSN. Why not? Nothing to lose, possibly everything to gain.

Most of us are US, though we are spread pretty much all over the lower 48 and Hawaii. I don't know that we have any Alaskans. And there is a fair scattering of Canadians.
NSS is just that NSS (not NSSN). I work for them monthly, they have many upscale retail, one restaurant and other odd and end jobs. I think you went to the wrong site.

Live consciously....
No one went to the wrong site. The original poster asked about NSSN. People started talking about NSS as it appears they were unfamiliar with NSSN. Both are legititmate companies who work in different venues of the marketplace.

Thanks DEEShops had not thought about the nothing to loose point. Just because I sign up doesn't mean I have to check them daily. I get the feeling that most of the MSC will get in touch with you if they need you. I know some are self assign but I had one of those call me with a urgent shop for the next day.
Wow it is interesting that everyone is spread all over. I could swear by the tone of some of the post that you guys knew each other. Sometimes it even sounds like sisters helping each other, corrections and all!
We do 'know' each other from foruming together. There is definite networking among shoppers and sharing both shop life and 'real life'. So in a quite real sense it is a sisterhood (and brotherhood) and very funny when someone you figure 'knows you' always pictured you as a brunette when you are a blonde, etc.
Putting a face to a name would definitely be a good thing...and we are a sisterhood of sorts, sisterhood of shoppers. I like that.

Live consciously....
Thank you for making me feel included, Flash. :^)

Since there's so little to say about NSSN, I don't feel bad taking this thread off track.....

I like to think of our group as virtual co-workers, and this board as a virtual water cooler.
Steve....your one of our sisterhood, just a man, sisterhood being slang for those that come together, or as you say like you say, "Virtual water cooler".

Live consciously....
Steve,
Brah, you fit good heah, no mattahs wat U genda. :-)

This is a scam. Do NOT cash the checks! They will bounce and your bank will be back at you with fees and if you have overdrawn your account due to them you will be required to pay back every dime. Do not send your personal data to these folks by email or you will be on every sucker list from now on.

There is a legitimate company that has this name that they are spoofing on and that company is likely to reimburse you in a month or so $5 for buying a $5 ice cream and writing a report. Far from the money that the scammers promise!
Actually, they have mispelled the name of the company in the next to the last paragraph. This is definitely NOT NSSN, though they are attempting to use their name.

NSSN does shops involving window dressings and pays between $25-50 per shop, paid 45-60 days after the shop has been accepted.

I too had problems with this company. A message was sent after business hours on Friday telling me I must contact them within 24 hours or my report will be deleted. Yet, no one answers their phone or emails on the weekend. On Monday morning, I called again and I was told my report and pictures were fine and the person did not know why to email was sent. At 6:30 pm, I received an email telling me my report was deleted, the pictures were rejected. Be very wary of this company. I have done over 750 mystery shops and this is the first rejected shop.
CarolP: Sorry you had the shop rejected. I have completed 11 shops for NSS (not NSSN) and have not had an problems. I have been paid for all of them and have found them very easy to work with.
NSSN doesn't seem to have shops near me, but they do have oil change and cable TV/internet type shops in other parts of my state, and I know that a family member of mine has done shops for them in the past.
I have been shopping for NSS (not NSSN) for 6 years, and am doing my four retail again today. They are a fine company,
easy to reach by phone, so, don't confuse them with Nat'l shopping service network. This thread is old, I'm sure there has been a recent thread on them.
