No I'm not a flake, they continued offering me jobs when I quit shopping for them previously, I just didn't accept any new jobs from them because of a payment issue that they were unwilling to correct.
In the way-back machine, when I first started shopping I was sent an email offering me a route of gas station shops. It said I was required to have a traffic vest, and a hard hat, I already had safety boots from my previous job (I'm a mechanic). The route pay for completing the entire route was over $2000. And I was jazzed to be able to make that much money all at once. I spent hours plotting routes for all of the addresses, and I took the certification quiz, I bought the traffic vest and hard hat from Amazon. I was READY..
I had also not accepted any other jobs for the time I had figured it was going to take me to complete this route. I signed in the night before I had planned to start the route, the first day that the shops could be completed, and they were GONE. I tried calling and writing emails. No one would tell me why they had been taken away from me. And one of the Maritz people told me that there was no record of any of those shops ever being assigned to me. I scanned and sent them the list of shops that I had printed to route the shops, but never got a reply to that one, they just quit answering my emails.
And I suddenly had 2 full weeks that I suddenly needed to find work to do and ended up not making nearly enough money that month to cover my bills. A few months after that they started doing the home improvement shops and I did a LOT of them, but only got paid for a little less than half. The lie I was told that time was that I had been paid for everything that I did. I sent them proof that they owed me more money but I was never paid. So I quit accepting jobs until they paid me, which never happened. So I didn't work for them for over 2 years, probably closer to 3.
I bought this property here in AL 9 months ago. And I quickly discovered that I was going to have to find more MSC's to work for because the jobs that were available here just didn't come close to what I was making in CA. So I started working for Maritz again, and so far I've had no trouble working for them. But I continually request the gas station shops only to be lied to about them. And I really do need to find more work to make ends meet.
