Is NSS losing their pizza contract? Another MS is picking up the same pizza shops in large quantity.

Now I see another well know company picking up all their pizza shops..........and this new one has no fee-- just reimbursement. NSS has not yet paid me from March so I wonder if NSS is going out of business -- or at least the pizza business.

They are not going out of business, but I don't see the pizza jobs which they had a hard time filling. I'm doing their restaurant today, they have many locations on the board. I never did them, so not a loss for me, but I hope they replace this with a better account.

I haven't been paid for March yet either, but my Feb. payments came very late in April. If this is the cycle/pattern with them, then I will be expecting my March payment in very late May.

I use their PayPal option, which is supposed to be a little slower than payment by check.

Personally, I would NEVER do a pizza shop for reimbursement only, as there aren't any pizzas in the world that I enjoy eating so much that I would willingly do a report for just to have it. smiling smiley Steaks and seafood maybe. Fast food - never! grinning smiley

If another company picks up NSS' client (for reimbursement only), then they won't have my shopper business. I have other job options I'd rather do.
cat, you didn't mention the client, so I will ask if the competitor is Intelli-Shop? If so, this isn't new. Both MSCs have shopped the client.

Also, Intelli-Shop starts off the month reimbursement only. Toward the end of the month, they give bonuses.

I, too, think they might have lost it. Intellishop never had so many of these shops on their board.

I've always done them through NSS and get paypal 30 days like clockwork. We order from there anyways so it's like a free pizza at the end of every month. But now I see them through Intellishop and was wondering if NSS lost the client. I don't want to do them how Intellishop has them set up. I've never seen them through Intellishop in my area before this month. Are you saying both MSC's shop this client?

Yes both MSCs shop this client.

In my opinion, intellishop gives better bonuses (area dependent of course) and the report is just a bit easier, because of the Sassie platform. I much prefer doing them for intellishop on the rare occasions they are bonused enough to be worthwhile to me as I don't like the pizza.
Yes it is Intellishop. In my area I have never seen Intellishop do the pizza shops. It has always just been NSS. So maybe it is just because Intellishop has started the pizza shops in my area because they have never done them before here in VA---(as far as I have seen) plenty of wing shops- but no NO FEE (boo hiss) pizza shops. I agree that I am not inclined to do NO FEE pizza shops- heck I can not even order it the way I like it for the shops ( well done and extra sauce) -- and it is soooo much better well done because the crust can be gummy and underdone if not ordered well done.
FYI NSS told me today that the pizza shops will be back for June.
See my thread about payment issues for more info.

I sure hope they haven't left NSS. I really enjoy working for NSS and have developed a good rapport with my scheduler so she looks out for me. When the loan shops went to Intelli the bonuses dropped considerably and I would bet there will be no bonus for the pizza shops. I was amazed though how many of the Intelli shops were taken with only reimbursement by Intelli!!!

I assume that at least some of the reimbursement only shops that are taken are done by people who don't know that bonuses can be had elsewhere (among other possible reasons like genuinely liking the food and not minding).

A while back I saw posts from people doing a separate fast food shop for x dollars, while I knew the shop was offered by a different company for more money. I was surprised at the low rate people were accepting the shop for and they never mentioned the other mystery shopping company.

It takes time to sign-up with the "magical" number 100 mystery shopping companies to get a good lay of the land and what opportunities exist. I'm at 78 companies after half a year of shopping.

I just got outed and won't bother with Intellishop since they will still know it's me. I was told I can't reshop the stores out here for about 18 months. Maybe it'll all be sorted out by then?!

How did you get outed?
I think, too, that NSS has gotten a bad rep for their pizza pics, i.e. the "infamous" cut pizza and side view pics. I LOVE working for NSS.

What was it about NSS and pics after a while, anyway? I'd be told shops were deleted only to resubmit the same exact pics and get approved. My last shop for them in November did have one of those tricky slice pics or underside pics and that one was approved while the other one I did with just top pics got rejected.

But, to think about it, the calls and emails trying to reel me back in haven't been coming as of late. Oh well, I'm moving away from that particular area, so I wouldn't be able to help them come next week.
Still no pay from March and the when you call the schedulers they will say the checks have been mailed- but they won't say when. In the past, they would tell me a date when the checks were mailed. Also no new period 6 shops have been listed. Bad signs. ............I think the many shops I have done will not be paid. Who do you contact if you get ripped off like this? Your state attorney general? BBB? (pretty useless on that one- it just reports bad behavior but they can not do anything.) If I get ripped off and this company closes I am at least sending a letter to the pizza company telling them how I got ripped off by NSS. I think reporting them to any consumer protection agency and your attorney general would be appropriate. WHEN PEOPLE WORK, THEY EXPECT TO GET PAID.

Not sure... I had been shopping the same outlet three times a month every single month so it was bound to happen. I don't understand why they don't just nail the shops I do and reap the benefits. I did change the toppings every time and sometimes added on items at my own expense. I guess I could accept it for the new MSC and get busted again but why bother for $0 pay!? Oh well, I was not a fan of the pizza anyway but enjoyed the bonuses for an easy shop.

Sorry to hear of the outing, SST!

I always worry about that myself and sometimes will lay off a shop that I do regularly to let others do it, so that I decease my chances of getting spotted.

By chance, were you doing the same location 3x a month? If so, I could see how that might make it easy to spot you. Assuming that not many people order the required shop pizzas (they have very specific guidelines that would weed out non-shoppers), it could get easier to pick up your trail if you're ordering several times a month and they have pictures of what the shopper ordered. They might start putting two and two together after a few months.

I try to do 1 pizza shop per location once a month maximum nowadays. I have a spreadsheet of every pizza ordered at every location with dates adn other details. Whenever I order from a location, I check what I ordered there from the last visit and switch it up and make sure I didn't order from them within 30-ish days (give or take).

I think it's worth it for me long-term to do this with a bunch of food shops I do. Even if I can do a place more than once a month, I often won't do it out of fear of being detected. I'm fortunate in that I have a ton of other shops around me (I'm also working a new job now that's not ms-ing), so I don't need to do a bunch of shops closely spaced together. I think if you're able to, it's good to space them out more or even take a break for a month or two to let other shoppers do them to mix it up.

Not everyone can afford to do that and I totally understand. For for those who can, I think it's worth it for long-term considerations.

Hoping you get new opportunities to make up for the pizza shop loss soon!

My awesome scheduler (who they told me is no longer with the company) would call me every month to give me my three shops at the same location. We did pizza every Friday and yes, would order pizza from the same location month after month. As I said, often times the bonus money and then some would be spent on adding on other items to our order. I told my scheduler in the past that I was concerned of being outed at the last city I lived in because I had some very specific incidents occur, but they were never very concerned about that. They would beg me to bring friends to them to do these shops, as they did not have many shoppers in my area. There, I would pick up from locations I could not have a pizza delivered from and would have them deliver to both my home and employer. Here, its always to my home. And they can't seem to find anyone to pick up this location, so I am curious if the new MSC will have someone out here. Last I checked, the location was still sitting on the board. I guess I could have a friend let me use her name/ address when I am over one day and see how it goes, but with zero fee, its not worth it to me to tell my neighbor my business. I think that's great that you are doing what you are doing. IT will help you to stay successful should you continue to pick these shops up. As for me, I will wait it out or find the next shop to feed my family!

I think someone else mentioned a scheduler offering lots of same location shops (with bonuses, I believe) per month and being outed too.

I do wonder if there is a conflict of interest. If schedulers work on commission or conditional pay based on the number of shops they fill, then they are possibly short-term incentivized to fill as many as possible without regard for outing possibilities. It could be worse too if there is a risk of firing if they don't fill those shops. But, I'm not sure how it all works (and certainly not for each company), so this is just a hypothetical.

On the other hand, you as the shopper have to balance the risk of getting caught as a shopper vs. making more $$$. Ideally, the scheduler would be on your side for long-term considerations like outing. But maybe they aren't or maybe they're too busy to keep track of who does what shop and how often. Then, it's up to the shopper to decide.

For me, I use the 30-day rule and if I feel a worker or company may be on to me, then I'll even take a several month break. There is one fast food/fast casual shop that I do in which this is the case. It pays decently well, but I am refusing to do it for at least 2-3 months. It takes self-control, b/c it's so tempting and I enjoy the shop. But I have to think long-term too.

Have you thought of working online by chance (not phone mystery shops - although, those can be good too -
but other types of online work)? PM me if you want re: online work. A thread in General Chat could work too if you're interested.

In any case, best wishes and also don't be afraid to ask for a bonus with whoever else picks up the pizza shop. You never know. They might be willing to bonus you if you ask.
The other company did the pizzas simultaneously with NSS - just the other company has never paid a shopper fee. it was years ago - but I do not understand why there is no communication from NSS.

Agreed - I have done for both MSC and same pizza company - same month - same guidelines and I order pizza from same location even not on a MS.
I had found the "other MSC" only did certain locations that may have overlapped with NSS, but had certainly never seen "my location" until May. It's still sitting on the board as I'm not going from a fee down to reimbursement-only. And the whole "you've been outed" thing has me hesitant on blowing it with the other MSC now too! Looks like they don't have anyone out this way either... or no one willing to do it for the cost of the pizza alone.
