SQM for travel

Has anyone done anything for SQM? How involved are the surveys for the hotels or airline shops?

The report for the US carrier are lengthy but not difficult. Mostly multiple choice and short answer. Some narrative but not too bad. I cannot comment regarding the Canadian carrier or hotels.
I did one (US carrier). The report is long and the system saves your input as you go along which makes it slow. There are lots of observations to make so the trip is not relaxing (are they ever?) but getting half your fare paid is worth it. The reimbursement was very quick - about two weeks! I'd do it again.

I'm doing my second one July 4th weekend. I was well prepared for my first. I created a mock report on my tablet and I was able to answer all the questions as I worked through each different area of the report. I plan on doing the same, but in more detail this time. Theoretically, I should only have to write about the baggage area once I land. They also give you 3 days to submit your report which is really nice. Go for it - its intimidating at first (as all new to me shops are), but it's really just a big apartment shop. LOL

I did the US carrier. As others have said, long, slow, but not difficult and worth the discount. My biggest issue was traveling with my mother, who could NOT seem to get the point that it was SECRET shopping, lol! Had to shoot her a few dirty looks on the first flight.

A bonus is that they gave a longer window for submitting the report. Helpful after a jet-lagged flight!
LOL, secret shopping with my mother is always a challenge as well! She just doesn't get it!
Well worth it to me. Performed one over a long holiday weekend where I would have driven otherwise. They are great to work with. Wish they had more work around here!

I have done most of the different shops offered by SQM except for the hotels/airlines although I am qualified to do them. Their shops require intensive reporting but I have no issue with them, concerning shops, scheduler/editor relationship or pay. Classy.
