Liz Lara from Trend Source...RESOLVED!

I have been signed up with Trend Source for a while now but have never completed any shops for them, just nothing in my area that stood out as great pay/worthwhile for me. I got a call on Monday the 19th from someone named Liz asking me to go take photos of three building in the town next to mine. The pay she was offering was $5. I asked for $10 and after a brief hold she said that was fine. Liz told me that this was a project someone else had completed but they forgot to take the outside photos so it would not show up in my shop log. She would send me an email and I should attach the photos to an email reply to her. This seemed shady but I was going to be driving within a half mile of the location the next day anyway and she only wanted one "curb" shot of each building (three pictures total) so I thought I would give her the benefit of doubt and go ahead and complete this project for her. I did as she told me to and found out these 'buildings' are actually homes in a residential subdivision.... not businesses at all. I took the photos and emailed them to her..... **crickets**..... I sent another email asking her to confirm that she received the photos and nothing. She won't respond. I knew it sounded shady when she told me that there would be no record of the shop on Trend Source website and I am not mad about the pay. This is one of those 'fool me once, shame on you' kinda thing. I am just posting as a heads up to others who may take a larger/more work involved or go out of their way project and be scammed.

Sorry to hear that happened to you. Did you get her phone number and did you get an email from her before you went, so that you had it in writing that she was going to pay you and what she wanted you to do ? And was the email a trendsource one ? I would have at least asked for all those things. If she is a trendsource employee then she should still pay you, whether she continues to ignore you or not.

Yep, I have her email. LLara@trendsource.com and phone number with extension


No, I don't have any software that shows me if someone has opened an email.
I would call and just choose the extension for onsite inspections and speak to whoever answers the phone not the particular person you spoke to. If you have the address and or project number and date they should be able to track the assignment. I would give it a try. Any time I have had issues I have had great results from staff resolving them quickly.
And Trendsource would probably want to know if someone is using their name if it is not legit.
Trendsource sadly has become very unorganized as of late and the job you did was likely for minimal pay.
When sending emails to a MSC one should always "cc" it to yourself. That way you get a copy back of what you sent to whom.

Your sent mail folder does the same thing.
Just thought I would update as I've waited past the payment date of the 1st and no payment was received.
Odd because I have done a similar job for them and got paid within a week.

NotAFullTimeJob is correct. If you waited only until the 1st, you haven't waited long enough. Wait a little longer and see if your payment is processed today.

I would write to the Contact on their site, telling them what happened. I work for them all the time, and they have gotten a few new schedulers, but alway send out an email. Job also shows under your account for jobs to do.
Their pay period has always been the 5th and the 20th, twice a month like clockwork., you should receive payment by tomorrow, as they deposit the 5th in the afternoon. Giving an extra 5.00 seems like a lot for them.

@Irene_L.A. That $5 does seem like a lot, lol! I've never had a PAD approved with them. But they do pay like clockwork.
I did a Business Verification and couldn't find three posters to take pic's of...they were in the coffee room, so I had to go back, but it was the 4th, so had to wait until the 5th which meant I wouldn't get paid. The Trend sent my pay in anyway, before the job was finished, talk about trust...yes, on the 5th, done. Can't say enough about this company...bravo!!!!

Still no payment & when I called the person I spoke to said they have no record of me completing this job. I explained the entire phone call and offered to forward emails. I'm waiting on a response to the forwarded emails.

I have had positive experiences with them. You should be able to see anything you've submitted under Project history, which also shows paid dates. Until something has been verified and reviewed, though, the "next" pay dates will follow that date. They are always fair, reasonable and pay like clockwork!
Sorry to hear that. Trendsource is a legit company. I have never missed a payment from them and I correspond with them frequently. I always receive a fast response.
