It's the minimal expectations in the narrative that I like. Does DQ have much out west? I know they're Boston based. I don't ever see much come up outside of the Northeast.

Actually I used to do hotels in Vegas, but haven't done any in awhile...getting back into it, easy does it. i like to be treated well....I do rich well!!

Irene, I do not plan on applying for your shop but it does not seem to me that travel for the amt of miles to LAX from where you are would be far in the eyes of a msc. As the freeway traveler though I get it. A pain to go even 5 miles sometimes around here. If you have not come into the city for a few weeks it seems traffic has increased substantially lately. I cannot fathom how it could suddenly go from horrible to abominable but it has.
The weather has cooled! Today the outside is no longer an oven in LA. I have lived here for over 40 years and do not remember weather like this for this length of time ever....but on the other side of things these temps are considered normal in other cities. We just have to learn to live like people do in other hot cities....
And the hotel most likely has nice air conditioning. You get a refuge from the heat along with your $25 fee.

I'm with you on that one, and the heat...but I think it's about humidity than direct heat. I was looking at a hotel in Long Beach and thought, "Naw...it's just too much driving!"

Santa Barbara and San Diego are much better options for me because I hop the train and avoid traffic if the MSC is willing to throw me a few $$ for an Amtrak ticket.

I know what your both Steve@Sandy saying. I want to do it, but am procrastinating due to the drive. The money really is't enough, yet it would be nice to stay there. Sandy, if you want it, that's fine, it's still on the board. For me, it's the long drive home, there's basically no $ in it, my car is a 6 cylinder, not a gas saver. I haven't heard back after asking for a bonus. I'm glad temp's went down a bit, but the humidity is a bear. Good to hear from you Sandy. Steve, I'd go to Santa Barbara in a heartbeat, the back road 126 gets me there without a hassle.

The bonus is unlikely. I like to set them up with a route of gas audits. E/M audits are pretty nicely bonused right now

I waited too long, it's taken...I hope my friend SandyF got it..I don't do gas stations, and my"routes" are no more than four, then home.

Friends for many years, since I started and picked Steve's brain on hotels...one that knows what he is talking about, and a real asset to our forum. He has a girlfriend and wouldn't be interested in an old broad like me...
