I had that happen, as well, with an editor from Intelli-Shop. Calling me a liar was beyond insulting and UN-acceptable. I, too, complained. My last senior shop was graded a 10. I think they canned that editor. Good move. As if I am going to lie for a measly shop fee...and ruin my reputation. Not hardly.
Currently I vote for
Service Sleuth.
They actually accused me of a CUT AND PASTE of someone else's shop! from a different area even!
No discussion with me what-so ever

Tied for worst at the moment is Intellishop.

The hush over the crowd in shock...

They deleted a pizza shop I have done dozens of times. They said I ordered double toppings.
I did not. And it was an obvious error somewhere that THEY should look into!
They never even attempted to discuss and refused to respond to my request!
I think the MSCs should all be shopped too!
I absolutely hated doing shops for Coyle. Their shop was so extensive it took me six to seven hours just to get through all the different sections. Every section is a complete individual shop. Bar, hospitality, food, beverage, Hostess, building, bar, ect. It was endless. I started the night when I got home, got tired went to bed picked it back up the next day worked for another six or seven hours finally got it done and submitted it. Then they have the nerve to ask for more information. I was so frustrated I told them I'd pay for the dinner myself, because I was not going to go back, re-do and add more information. I told him I had already spent enough time on this project and that it wasn't worth my time to add anymore. I'm sure they probably used my report as it was, quite comprehensive but I didn't care as I never wanted to work for them again, so I told them just do what they want with it. They said their clientele deserved and expected a complete and accurate survey. I re0lied that I had no way of gauging the experience while spending the entire evening constantly taking notes on every 5 seconds of food and service. I really couldn't even observe anything because I was so busy taking notes. Their shops pay well but are nightmare. Never again!
Reality-based expects you to do Steakhouse shops which entails two drinks an appetizer, 2 entrees tax and tip and only want to pay $25. Ridiculous
I hate to say this as I enjoyed working for Reality in the past, but their fees have come way down....what's going on, hopefully its a phase.

Live consciously....
No, rboggs, the bar shop you can do alone pays $25. The dining room shop pays $35. I agree that $35 is not so great, hence I don't do the dining room shops. I love doing the bar shop, though. I can get a tall beer or glass of wine and a steak and go maybe $2 over the reimbursement with the tip. I don't mind, super easy report.
Confero has wing restaurant shops that require you to order two drinks (no water), an appetizer and two entrees for a $30 reimbursement, no pay. It's practically impossible to stay within the $30.
I held the 'market' on casino shops with Bare a number of years back...the pay was great, considering hubby and I both enjoyed the shops....lol....I did them regularly, was paid well, and had a terrific scheduler, Mandy, if I recall correctly....she was always fair, and Bare paid on time ... I did other shops with them as well and things always went well.
dreamweaver2..this is a thread on worst shops and companies ever done.

jhc on a cracker...did you even read the topic of this thread? if not, allow me to enlighten you...this is about the worst, repeat, the worst and has nothing to do with anything other than the worst. maybe because you're a "new participant" and "new member" you haven't been involved for a looooong time and your reading comprehension isn't what it used to be so i'll cut you a break and take the snark back a notch or two.

irene_l.a., nothing, absolutely nothing ceases to amaze.
Several posts say almost the same thing, i.e., XYZ company is not so bad. But go ahead and jump all over a newbie.
She's not new has been shopping for years, but i assume now retired, which doesn't make her new...just to clarify.

Live consciously....
I don't mind Intellishop, but I stick to specific shops that I don't mind. I have found others to be too narrative focused for me.

These kinds of comments just put off newbies from posting. Her comments were totally valid.

She was making the point that the company you bad mouthed is actually a decent company which offers good assignments.

amirite?
Intellishop keeps emailing me about a pizza job because I did one at that location in the past. They keep asking me to "help them out" yet the bonus is something piddly like $2.14. Pass.
Same with new car shops, ATV shops and others. For New Car shops, Intellishop pays 18.00 while other boards start at $25 all the way up to $75 (for a 2 part visit) (Plus $25 bonus, I just did a KIA shop total= $100 on a competing board)
ATV shops the same- Intellishop pays $10 for the EXACT SAME SHOP that pays $25 on a different board (Off Road Express ATV shop for 13-14 y/o)

I emailed scheduler re this pay disparity- no reply yet but will post when/if it comes.
Intellishop's low ball pay scale just earned them loss of an experienced shopper.

Response from Intellishop re pay disparity compared to other boards for SAME EXACT SHOPS:

"The regular fee for automotive sales shop is $17. The bonus added to the shops are based on the average pay per location in light of their remoteness, number of shoppers we have registered in the area, and funds available. Unfortunately, the amount posted is what we have available for this location. If you are able to help, please advise a date, or we’ll keep you informed if the pay goes higher."

Absolutely on the money with Coyle. You get to have meals at great restaurants and stay at some fine hotels...but you pay in time and stress. The reports are very detailed and the multiple scenarios (hotels) require extensive time and effort. Exhausting and usually not worth it!

The list is not complete without DSG Associates.

That company is the only company that always picks my report apart, and consistently emails me to add information to my narrative that I was not asked to include in the guidelines. I take them when my tolerance for nonsense is higher than normal.
I had to stop shopping for them.( Intelli) I did a shop for them. I was asked to make corrections. I made the corrections, still did not get paid, along with a low shop rating for not making the corrections. Someone on their end did not do their job. I complained a bit, but they did not care to help me. All the back and forth I decided not to invest anymore lost time on it, or future jobs for them. I'm semi new to this, but have completed over 100 shops without issues...except that one. I think that says enough.

Way too late for that as the snark train done left the station...

Biggest problem I have with Coyle is that they don't even have any standards for their reports. I do one of their client's frequently and sometimes the report is accepted as I enter it and sometimes they come back asking for 10 different things that aren't even included in the report form.
Thank you, moosehoose...I didn't realize this forum was filled with with 'snark-loving', know-it-all, jump in to criticize anyone who happens to offend those who think they are so much better than anyone else...NO, I'm not a new shopper...but new to this Forum, and sad to say its a huge disappointment...
The purpose of this was to bring shoppers together and to help each other out, but all I see are snide, demeaning comments about a person's mental capacity OR the honesty of how they may have performed a shop...(this wasn't about me).
What a bunch of snooty, ....... well, I won't join them in berating anyone they disagree with...I'm SOOOOOOO terribly sorry to have offended 'parhcitybrian' who posted the original message about the 10 worst shops...
Glad I'm an honest, law-abiding citizen so I'd never have to have any of this bunch on a jury panel for me...certain to be convicted....And Brian, I don't NEED you to 'cut back the snark'...who the heck are YOU, anyway?
Pathetic!

oh, my...hurt fee-fees and tender sensibilities have been bruised. i'm hardly offended by disagreement but yugely (with attribution to you know who for that one) offended that you failed to understand the original posting.

and..there is plenty of useful info on this forum (including mine with substantiation).

suggestion: make a nice cuppa chamomile, don your snuggie, curl up with 3 cats, knit a nice scarf and put the sound of music on endless loop.

but, feel free to keep clutching your pearls, francine
oh aren't you just the cutest lil thing ever????? Good Grief...grow up! You can't possibly hurt my feelings...you wouldn't know how!
