Bestmark

BestMark may drop me after the email I just sent. Once again they changed the guidelines on me at the last minute and didn’t notify me. I signed off on the guidelines on Monday. The shop window is today from 1-8pm. The changed the guidelines at midnight last night/this morning! They did this to me before - where they changed the guidelines at the last minute.

I flat out told them I was declining the shop and that if they change the guidelines and don’t notify me before the shop window in the future I will decline that shop as well. I was a lot nicer in the email than I am here cause I’m frustrated and now it’s showing.

They are not respecting our time when they do this to us.

What type of change did they make?

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

That’s the problem, I don’t know because they don’t indicate it and I literally don’t have time to sit and compare the new guidelines to my notes.

*sigh*
That is just weird to change them and not indicate what they were changing. It could have been included in the email. Their guidelines are not usually long, but I would not be inclined to go through line by line looking for a change that may or may not even exist.

That’s just it, they didn’t send an email. The only reason I knew of the change is because I happened to log in. Same as last time. If they would list what the change was then I would be annoyed but not frustrated.
I did an automotive dealership sales mystery shop for Bestmark a couple of years ago. I received a call from an editor the next day saying that they accidentally left off a series of questions that were not included in my guidelines or online reporting form. She then began to ask me the questions, and I politely I refused to answer. I did the shop based on the guidelines and filled out the report completely based on those guidelines, and that was all I was required to do. I didn't get paid initially, but then was paid later after I escalated the issue. That was the last shop I ever did for Bestmark.
I have never had them change the guidelines and I have been doing shops for them for at least two years.
One time they edited the shop instructions. I forget exactly when but it was either the day before or on the day of the shop. They sent me an email but it was difficult to understand what they were talking about. I had to get clarification. I had to print out an award or oops letter. If you sent them a firm but direct note then they shouldn't hold that against you. Let us know how it turns out.
It doesn't look like they are holding it against me. *Phew*. The regional scheduler actually replied back and included a "sorry" in their reply, which I really appreciated. And I say that I don't think they are holding it against me because I just got an email with the subject line "Restaurant Shops Available in "City" just for "My name"" - Which seems a lot less like a mass email and more of a scheduler asking me to take this shop.
I don't shop for them anymore. I signed up for and confirmed a certain shop several times and then it would be reassigned to another shopper. The scheduler said he did not know why, but it just was not worth it.
leaiso, I'm glad it worked out for you. I've enjoyed a good relationship with Bestmark for many years. I have called schedulers with questions - yes, they answer the phone. Once, even on a weekend. The scheduler's baby was heard crying in the background, as we worked through a weird issue I was having, onsite. That's been a few years. So, I don't know if they still have a scheduler available after hours.

I sign off on the Instructions prior to doing the onsite, which then changes my status from Incomplete to Complete. When you logged in the second time, I'm wondering if the Instructions and Survey Examples status showed Incomplete, and if that's what clued you in that the Instructions had changed.
Yep! It also showed how I had previously signed off on them.

BM is a reputable company and they've acted professional in my communications with them. They've always answered the phone.
