Stericycle convenience stores

I am considering trying this shop. They pay only $5 plus $3 reimbursement. How long do these shops generally take? Are they worth doing for the price? Are the reports simple enough?

It seems like they are being particularly slow this month too. Depends on where you live, some areas you can be patient because you that the other shopper(s) in the area are smart. Or you can be like where I am now, where they take them immediately and you wish you could scream at them. Ugh!
It is only the 8th of the month. grinning smiley

How long does it take to do one of them? 10-15 minutes or 45 minutes? Just trying to get a feel for their level of difficulty...
The shops generally take 10 minutes or less. The reports maybe 15 minutes. The hardest part for me is trying to come up with different answers to the same question after doing 10 of the shops on the same day! And you MUST have different forms of payment for the pay at the pump requirement. Well, a gift card will work at all of them, but usually you can only use the same Visa/MC card twice, three times if you're really lucky, before it won't work (you get a 'see cashier' error message - and since you HAVE to pay at the pump, you are not allowed to go inside to use the card) for the rest of the day. The shops in my area usually get snapped up when they hit $12. Sometimes they'll go to $15, but not often. The farther away ones I've seen at $20.

They are easy. Some without bathrooms or store can take 5 minutes. Reports tend to be PITA with narratives..a few words here and there..to confirm answers plus summary. Why or why does someone take the ones around here for $4?????

Using the branded gift card is highly recommended. You'll always get that receipt unless its out of paper or jammed, which avoids having to ask the clerk for that small amount gas receipt after you ask for your small amount purchase receipt. Average shop time for me is 8-12 minutes, depending on if there is bathroom and there is no "customer interference" (long lines, someone in the bathroom at first, etc). Once you have done a station multiple times, you generally know where to look when looking for issues.

A little thing I like to do on this shop is if there is another customer in the store nearing the counter, or looks like they may be at the counter soon, I will delay to be right in front of them. That way, the clerk is focused on that customer, while I am taking a picture of their missing squeegee and rusty island curb, reducing the chances of them knowing you were taking those pictures. I also usually size up the station while pumping: letting the small required amount of gas pump slowly while I get a look at where pictures may need to be taken. That way, when I am out of the store, I am going right to those spots, then leaving (to drive across the street for the exterior).

Is that because of the gas brand or your bank? If it is your bank or credit card provider, it may be possible to have it lifted. For routes my preference was a gift card, but when it wasn't an option a phone call to my bank would prevent the card being locked down for small gas purchases.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

LisaSTL, it's the gas company's restriction. Exmo & Chevtex do it too. You can only use the same card 2 or 3 times (I think Discover at one brand was 3).
I've never heard of those brands which must be why it has never been an issue for mesmiling smiley

Hahaha. Long before the current MSC got the contract, I performed quite a few Exxon/Mobil. I never had a problem with my cards being limited.
