Morton's Steakhouse

We have finally after months of searching found the MSC that shops Mortons...but they are not shopping in Northern California. Does anyone know if they use more than one MSC?

I wish I knew...would love to do it in So. CA. I know Ruth Cris is shopped. Were you interested in the San Francisco Morton's?

SF Mortons or Sacramento. I've been looking for Ruth's Chris too. The company I know of shops the So Cal Mortons including Beverly Hills, but never lists Nor Cal.
Both are shopped. Keep signing up. They may or may not be shopped in your market (mine were not for a while...) and both are shopped by different companies. One is a fast pay Sassie; the other a show pay Sassie. Both pay within terms of contract.

I have searched high and low, as well, and cannot find the Morton's MSC. HMMM, I'll have to keep looking. The Ruth Chris in Denver has been shut down for some time. Too bad because I went there for junior prom.
I am not in SoCal -- so no competition there!

I would love to know who shops Ruth Chris' and Morton's. Will you share?
My greatest fear of doing a high-end restaurant is having my report rejected and "eating" the cost of the dinner. Do these companies give you a second chance to revise a report if they are not satisfied?
Yes, the risk is higher in term of having to eat the cost.

I never do jobs on Morton or Ruth Chris, but have done other dine in restaurant like steakhouse, fancy bar visits. IMHO, they are easier to fill the form than fast food. Most of them, if not all emphasize on services, ambiance of the dining area, taste of food. I can relax, enjoy the evening and does not feel like I am working while paying attention to what I need to observe. Fast food is all about timing down to the last seconds and some other small details, which can be very tricky for someone who is new on the job. FF is not healthy so I try not to do them too often smiling smiley

I never have problems with these restaurant jobs, but I do write a pretty detailed narrative.
I accept any and all hints at to how I can find a Morton's shop in Arizona. I love their food but have a bit more trouble "stomaching" their prices.

My husband and I are both shoppers and we do fine dining at least two times a month. We help each other keeping track of details and enjoy our evening. You can also bring a digital recorder to help you with the report. The high end hospitality shops will also give you sample reports and guidelines of what they want.
They shop in So. Calif..just saw them with an MSC I work alot for. I didn't get it, but will keep watching, I think this is a new client for this MSC, have never seen a restaurant with them.

This is not a new client. It has been shopped, at least once per year, sometimes more, via the same shopping firm, for at least two years. This varies by location, and you need to have a 10 or a gold cert to get it offered to you via email in many cities. When the shopper assigned it screws up or flakes, it goes, in some markets, like mine, to self assign.
Athens...are we talking about the same MSC. I know they are shopped, but never by the MSC I'm talking about.

They have one listed for LA over the weekend?
I just applied for one downtown on the 16th, it was on the board, though not self-assign...it's further than the other, but, fingers crossed.

Do you guys know if Ruth Chris is shopped in Florida? I know I cant ask for the company who does them but I am willing to search if they do smiling smiley
That brings up an interesting question. Is there any reason I cannot call or email a company--Subway for example--and ask what company they use for mystery shoppping?
I found out there is a rotation of a year for Morton's, once a year is it. You need to do report right (the first time) for these high priced restaurants, as there is no re-shop...just remember if for some reason report isn't accepted, you have had a great dinner. Once you do them, it becomes second nature and not really that hard, just alot of writing. I think the report fee should be higher, but that's my pet peeve.

ShopUntilYouDrop,

Yes, you can ask the client if they are mystery shopped.
90% of the time they will respond back and tell you who their ms company is, just don't ask it upfront though. Ask if they can pass along your contact info to their ms company. This is less intrusive.

Do not email. Write a hard copy letter to somebody high up in the company.
The emails are usually read by low level customer service folks who don't have the info you want and will just say NO to you no matter what.
I thought we (shoppers) were NEVER to contact the client.

But of course if he is not seeing the shops with any company he is signed up with he is not knowingly contacting the client of any MSP with whom he has an ICA.
o.k. but, maybe they are not showing up on his job board...it took years for Mortons to show up for me. Since we are signed with many, he probably is signed with them...just talking to show another side of this. I personally would not contact the client, and would the client really give the name of their MSC. Morton's requires gold or a very consistent 9/10 grading before your given that shop. I know some of the "now gone" shoppers say Gold doesn't matter, but in some instances it does.

If I work from the assumption that a company I am signed up with MIGHT POSSIBLY have a client I have never seen, then I would never contact any company about anything whatsoever. If you have not seen the client in your market you are obviously not in possession of the confidential and priviledged information your ICA requires you not reveal. Their injunction not to contact the client I would interpret as being more in connection with a shop you are assigned to or have performed for that client. Obviously I will contact the electric company when my bill shows impossible useage. Obviously I will contact my bank when I see an error in my account or just want to know current rates. I have seen shops of electric companies in the past (though I have not done them) and I know that my bank is shopped fairly routinely--including by me.
Even if you do contact the client, say (Mortons's) to see if their shopped, they are priviledged not to give out information...not knowing who you are. You still have to have the MSC show and give you the job, which comes with diligence and time. Seems to me to be stepping over your MSC and not insuring you'll get that job. I don't think that comparing a bank or service to our "profession" jives here.

That's what makes life interesting, I welcome an intelligent disagreement. The new post about Freeman Group on the forum is the poster that wrote me stating he got paid, and I posted it and got shredded from Dee, remember?
He is now President of Freeman Group..took me back quite a bit.

Has anyone seen Mortons or other steakhouses on lists in Chicago? I understand we all want the same thing and not everyone will get in, but how come nobody is willing to share info with each other? Seems odd to join a forum but then to not help each other by sharing info. Can anyone recommend some of the better shopping companies in the Chicago area? Thanks
