DSG Calling me but I am not registered with them

I did not recognize the caller ID so did not answer. DSG Associates was the tag. They called a few days ago, again today. On the message they left they used my first name. Today the gentleman that left the message sounded like he just woke up and he mumbled a lot. I went to their website and used the password reset for both email addresses I have used over the years, they do not recognize my email address.

My other experiences with MSC companies getting my name and cell phone number was after I registered for Mystery Shoppers America. The initial calls and texts were all scammers though.

Anyone here have any insight into DSG?

Yup. And some job boards opt you in to sharing with member MSCs.

I have done several shops for DSG, most with quite fair bonuses and some with PAD. I find they pay on time (end of month following shop) with no hassles. I have not had any problems with them or their shops.
My aunt got a phone call where the caller ID showed it was from Apple. They knew her name. They told her there was something wrong with her computer. She is 88 and doesn't have a computer, so she hung up. My point is that the caller ID tag can be spoofed and it's possible for scammers to get your name somehow. I know DSG is a legit company but it is possible that whoever called you was not from DSG.
Good point. It is possible. It's always possible.

So, OP, what did the message state, other than your name? I have spoken to a legit male DSG rep, and he sounded sleepy, as well. Since their site didn't recognize you, did you then sign up with them?
I get one particular shop from DSG and I have done it 3 times I think? got through iSecretshop.

They are always a bit of a pain. No matter how detailed I do my narrative they always manage to message me asking for some other little detail that was not even covered in the guidelines. Fortunately for me, I live in a one party state and I do record shops that are going to be narrative heavy, so I can always go fill it back in. It is easier to just give them what they ask for, then to complain 'hey, your guidelines did not even cover this.' And their reporting form will have a drop down that doesn't cover all possible eventualities, so for example, a question might ask something like this, 'did associate recommend ' and give 4 possible choices. But if the associate did not recommend any of those, there is no option of 'none.' So you have to choose one, then explain at the end that you had to choose one of the options on question 'whatever' but that the associate did not actually recommend anything. That sort of thing bugs me.

So I take those pretty rarely....

They said they have an opportunity and to call about it. Seeing I am not registered with them, I expected a more professional messsge.

They are a legit company, and I did a few bank and restaurant shops. The report was easy, they pay on time, and they have a shop at a bank where I do business, so works out fine.

So, then, if you did sign up with them, and you see the opportunities, there you go. If you don't see the opportunities, and the callback number is different than the MSC site, then don't call back, tag the caller as DoNotAnswer or something, and don't take the call in the future. If you didn't sign up with them, you can't shop for them anyway. You aren't real clear on the details so maybe one of these scenarios will stick. Happy shopping!

I can appreciate your simplistic approach but do not agree with it. I am in sales. My job depends on clear and meaningful communication.

There are no details for me to clarify. They "mumbled" and did not provide any relevant information as my initial post states. They provided no incentive for me to seek them out.

Then it sounds like you should probably write it off and not pursue it. You didn't say whether or not you registered with DSG after determining you didn't have a login, but I'm guessing not. So, "If you didn't sign up with them, you can't shop for them anyway." It really is that simple. Happy shopping!
Hi isaiah58,

MSCs will reach out to you through the contact information that you have provided in the MSPA profile you created.

It looks like DSG Associates is a legit company. You can check out their official website here (https://www.dsgai.com/). I'd suggest that you create a profile with them if you are interested in doing mystery shops with them in the future.
