International service check

They sent me an e-mail to sign up for the company, I followed the link from this site. But why on earth do they need to know my place of birth, that’s a new one. I know they are legit but that makes me hesitant. Anyone else’s thoughts?

It could be because they truly are an international company and perform shops all over the world. They may simply be trying to determine your demographic profile to see where (geographically and program-wise) you fit into their world.

Not sure why you'd be hesitant to answer this question. IMO, they're a good company to shop for and I wish they had more shops in my area.

I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
I too have received an email invitation to register with this company (why I'm here looking through comments about them by shoppers) but have not registered with them yet. I have never been asked that question by any of the many MSC's I am registered with. Answering where you were born could be used in a background check on you, along with all the other sensitive personal info you give them. It is also even more personal information that can potentially be used in a bad way if it lands in the wrong hands. Some of these MSC's ask for all your most sensitive information and we only know of them what is seen on the internet on a website. All this in exchange for small paying jobs - if you are selected. We are not handling money for them or doing anything that would normally require such a level of "security screening" if that is indeed what this type of info is used for. And then to trust they will never be hacked or employ someone who accesses accounts, trusted with many people's information. I would use caution and common sense.
I really wished that they would invest in a paper map or use the internet to calculate distance before texting me.

Stay away, they will find anything to not pay you .... there is no office in the US ...hence little to recourse
I have never had a problem getting paid with them. Sure I missed a bonus because I did not catch the time to report fee had already been passed by my bid to do the shop fee. Live and learn too bad they do not have more shops in my area.
If every MSC made payments as timely as International Service Check has consistently made payments to me, my cash flow would be better and my accounts receivable would be thin.

The only advantage that having an office in the US would make to being able to collect from an MSC would be if one had to engage in litigation. International Service Check is not the only MSC without an office in the US, and it is not the only such MSC which always pays me on time.

I'm always getting emails for shops from ISC....they do a lot of boutique shops where you are looking for accessories. Being in Chicago they also perform shops at stores specializing in higher end coffee machines (and kitchen items too). I've also been to Italian coffee cafes and two fast casual Italian chain restaurants. Oh yes they also have shops at airport gift shops all over the world it seems.

They are very good at getting back to me....my only complaint with them is that they do not have a board with their assignments....they said they were implementing one but I have yet to see it.

Silver certified (since 2009) and willing to do shops all around the greater Chicago, NW Indiana, and Southern Wisconsin areas (including airports!.
They now have a board (at least in my area). They've always paid promptly and have addressed any minor issues that have come up.
