After 5 faithful years of service, Marketforce pulled the plug.

Yes, I was deactivated way back when we still had to fax or mail them the CPIs. I was faxing most of them, and they were claiming that they had not received them. Some of them I know I faxed more than once because I started keeping records. They were either losing the CPIs or there was some issue with my printer/fax machine. I waited about a year, bought a new printer and then contacted them. In my email I reminded them about why they had deactivated me. Then I told them I bought a new printer and that the problem with the faxes should be gone if the fax machine was what was causing the problem. I asked to be reactivated, and they did so.

I had two shops like that scheduled with them, and they contacted me and said the client had cancelled. It is disappointing when that happened.

I made a lot more money after I stopped working with MarketForce and there are many other shoppers who will say the same.

There is no way I'll be able to make the same amount of money I was making with MF

It happened to me and I decided to sign up with more MSCs and seriously considered other assignments. I was very happy with the outcome and I actually earned more.

But I was puzzled at the termination and their answer was, " You asked to be terminated." I said I never did and they reinstated me without further comment.
Yup - with you on this! We had 3 in the family. One at college and husband and I at home. Went to do a shop and couldn't get in! No explanation - nothing! Got the same info about we can term you anytime. Have moved on. Thanks for info on not reinstatnig. Was gonna try!
I got a temporary deactivation a little more than a week ago that said to email them, so I did. They responded several days later, saying I was a high risk for cancellations, and this was my last chance. I actually had canceled two days worth of shops back in July relating to the same personal predicament. I have completed many shops for them since July without any cancelations. I'm not sure what took them more than a half a year to express a concern and provide feedback, but I am grateful they saw the big picture that it was isolated and happened quite some time ago, and I have provided great detail in their reports, so they don't want to lose me. The shops I canceled were for a grocery store, and they had an unusually large bonus attached to them that I had not seen them offer before on those shops. They were also shops that only had one day left to complete, and nobody had taken them. After that day, they have not had that client since, so that leaves me with the impression that those last day high bonuses may have been related to the fact that the client wasn't going to be with them much longer anyway.

Because so many others here are expressing similar recent stories, it sounds like they're trying to do some sort of clean sweeping right now. That's unfortunate that whatever they are doing or not doing is resulting in the loss of so many shoppers. That makes them the common denominator, but who am I to tell them, right? It's their business, and they'll run it their way. By the sounds of it, they're not just canning newbies who don't get it yet but also seasoned shoppers. The ancient Greeks said everything is best done in moderation, but some businesses like to take risks I guess. What is less up for debate is that timely and relevant feedback is very important, and people generally do make improvements if they are provided with it.
Yes. Same thing happened to me. They deactivated my mom and sister on same weekend. Then my husband and I a few days later. We got the same ridiculous response. I have tried to reapply a year later with no success.
Trust, that even with my finance and real estate background I failed each time i took the exam. Now, they will not allow anyone over 50 to take the exam. Trust yourself that when you receive the fail copy (ask for it).so you can scan it and mail back to the MSP company your will be paid. Good luck You will do just fine.
"Your story is one of all eggs in one basket". I am surprised that they did not de-activate you sooner. Trust that MF pays very low on some shops. Go out into the computer world, look for other companies you will find on the internet that pay better. You will be paid more in the long run. As your husband having the same IP address. This is not a good idea as you found out. Five years,, times up with this company. You may wish to also look for a good part time job so you are no longer doing route shops and driving 1500 miles. Too much work. Best wishes. It will get better for you. Just do your research.
The same thing happened to me only mine was a dispute over the receipt and I sent them the receipt but it didn't seem to matter. I am in law enforcement and even sent them a copy of my identification and shield, and that didn't matter

So, I am another terminated Market Force employee who was not rehired

FU Marketforce
I know MF has schedulers that call certain people and offer them $$$ to do the same shop that is only paying $8.00. I wouldn't mind being on that list, i know a person that makes $400 just to complete 4 shops wish I knew how they get away with that.
They don't "get away with it." They are probably a good negotiator and a reliable shopper.

In many areas of the country there may only be one basket into which one can put one's eggs.

I'm not buying that. There are 200 mystery shopping companies and thousands of clients. If anything, MarketForce has less than they did when I started ten years ago.

I've signed up with virtually every company listed on this forum. No idea what it looked like 10 years ago but I know when I put in my zip code and 75 miles radius the ratio of shops is probably 10:1 for MarketForce. MF will bonus shops where other companies never do. IPSOS has some PO shops around here that never go above $12. I get my oil changed with Confero. Martiz will sometimes will make it worthwhile to drive two hours round trip. But for the most part, MarketForce is by far the company that makes mystery shopping worthwhile here. Maybe those companies that do mystery shopping in my neck of the woods aren't listed here and that's why I'm not seeing those 1000s of clients. Or maybe it's because when you live in an area where the biggest nearby city is 50,000 there just aren't that many clients.
I see talk about sorts of shops that I'll never be able to do because those clients are not located anywhere near me.
After 6 years, Marketforce accused me of not following the instructions. What they told me was not true, even though I defended myself and challenged, they closed my account. After 3 years I asked again to work for them and they told me that I would never come back.
They did the same thing to us. I guess they are looking for shoppers that will do the shops for nothing.
For those of us that are having trouble with MF being ignorant and rude, I have found a field services company called We Go Look. I live in a pretty rural area ( my town has 200 souls living here) and I have been able to get several jobs the last few months. They have usually been great about travel bonuses and short notice bonuses.
This is my two cents why MF deactivates you - IF you make a lot of money on bonuses. I live in a rural area and would get hounded by their schedulers who would throw BIG bonuses at me - just so they can meet their deadlines. MF does not like that. They want their schedulers to keep calling and calling to find another shopper to do the shops for a lower fee. Seems like others on this post got axed when they start making big money with MF. Be careful.
I make huge money with MF nearly every month since their inception. When their scheduler's call I always stay positive and say I really wanted to do that assignment, I try to make them laugh, I can always get the overseas schedulers to laugh and I take at least one of each of their client's assignments at base pay. When I talk to Maritz they always tell me something about my prior conversations with their employees. It's irritating as hell and reminds me about how my ex always brings up crap from the past, my part of the crap only, of course. But, I know they keep score. Well, I keep score also. I don't want to call, or be called, and speak to someone who doesn't know anything except the client, date and time frame. Well, MF keeps tabs too! I just try to do the best I can by trying to figure out what their criteria may be for canning me and stay away from it. I know I could be next.
We Go Look still charges $50 and they used to pay us $25 but now they pay us $20. They can get a flunky from my area to do their dirty work!
I just recently started with Marketforce as well as a few more companies. I am sorry about your experience with Marketforce. Did they pay on time during the years you worked with them? Thanks
They pay on time. I have been with them for over a decade but don't do a ton of shops for them. I have not gotten the axe (yet) but I won't be surprised when/if it happens.
This thread makes me nervous. I’m still a new shopper, but have signed up with around fifty companies so far. I live in a small town and MF has far more shops in my area than any others. I do try to sign up with four or five new companies a week, though.

Right there with ya.
If you find a good MF shop that is good for you, I'd take it. Enjoy working for them while you can.
I've done several of these shops and I'm sure the tests can vary, but I certainly had NO problem failing the test and I'm not unintelligent!
I quit receiving emails and calls from them several weeks ago, but have been too busy the past 5 months remodeling a HUD house, so have limited my shopping. I emailed asking why I was deactivated, since I tried to log on and it said my account was deactivated. Return email stated because I had not sent them a photo of myself, as well as a piece of mail addressed to me at my home address! And welcomed me to be reinstated once I sent these 2 items. Still haven't taken the time, but agree about less fat because eating less fast food on their shops!

Well I think they let me go because my last check from them was for over $1,700. Irritating because it's not like I've gotten checks like that a lot from them. A good friend of mine usually makes more than that from them and she's been doing it full time for a long time.
I'm totally over it now though... Trying to keep it positive. Less fast food shops = less fat I'll put on. Lol

That's a great attitude Misspocos75. I bet you will get a lot of other companies that would pay you even more. Sometimes, they deactivate when you reach 1000 shops and they do it randomly. Some go on to do more than 3000 without deactivation. Their help desk has always been rude an inconsiderate. The least they could have done is given you a polite explanation. At this rate, I guess they could terminate me anytime without a reason. Well, plenty of fish in the sea. Just keep looking. I wish you all the best!
