And you wonder how Sentry stays in business...

when they treat their shoppers like crap! Wow, what an attitude!

Here is an actual PM exchange I recently had with a Sentry employee:

Julie,
My two cents....
I respect you and Dave, BUT...
Sentry pays what I would call an barely average rate in the MSC world, but late, in comparison to most MSC's,
My experience is that the editors, when they contact me, are usually wrong.
And yes, I agree, the tests are a pain.....
All summed up, Sentry gets a C- grade, passing, but not anyone's favorite.

I did two shops for them. First one was fine. 2d one ended up being a huge pain because of their old payment company. It became a thread (or part of one) here and the owner ended up being rude to me. So, long story short there are lots of other MSC that I can work for and I do.
LOL! Well, is there? I'd go there and look myself up, see which schedulers hate me!

There is a website where you can see what other shoppers have said of specific schedulers. Right now, I can't recall where it was. One of the job boards, I'm sure!
I had done some work with Sentry - never much as they don't have much in my neck of the woods - without problems. However, I completely, 100%, stopped because of the attitude Dave has displayed elsewhere on this forum.
I mean, when you send them a professional PM like that, I can understand why they responded back with equal professionalism....

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
I completed a single assignment for Sentry shortly after the MSC was formed, but as the work/pay ratio was unacceptable to me, there has not been a second. That was strictly a business decision on my end.
This post, however, will deal with Dave and his attitude.

I found him to be concise and candid on the three occasions we have chatted on the phone; the type of chap with whom I would enjoy being in commerce. The major problem with the many negative comments is probably that the majority of shoppers come from an employee background. Simply put, we who have been self-employed for decades think differently. It is my opinion, though, that owners of MSCs have no more business engaging in posting on boards than presidents of countries have in tweeting.

As to Julie's reply, it fit my criteria in that it was both concise and candid, with a tad of tongue-in-cheek. She sounds like my kind of gal, one with whom you always know where you stand. I deplore the kind, sweet, gentle and loving approach to business and its ambiguity.
Oh WoW! Yikes, snark-zilla. The one and only time I ever dealt with a caustic, sassy, went out of her way to be nasty, MSC worker was with the company that handles many of the theme parks and fun centers. I don't work for them anymore.
We don't have an employee named Julie at Sentry.

@winemaker - I am confused by your post. These comments were originally posted on 11/3/2017. (https://www.mysteryshopforum.com/read/6/630785/632006#msg-632006) If you review that post, I think you will see that Julie does not work for Sentry,

While Julie's comment may have been a bit too blunt for you, I think she brings up an interesting point for conversation.
I don’t see any point in starting this post other than to stir the pot. Not helpful, not necessary.
I have worked for Sentry with a variety of results. I had 1 assignment which I should have rejected because the requirements didn't make sense to me. I performed it and it was rejected. There was 1 client of theirs that I consistently accepted, however, I found Sentry shops difficult to complete due to redundant data entry. Not a surprise, Sentry lost that client and I am happily doing those shops for the new MSC. Due to my difficulties with Sentry I am very careful about accepting a shop from them. I read the guidelines carefully, and will cancel (to my detriment) any shop that doesn't work for me. I probably have low marks with them, but I'd rather cancel a shop then do it and risk non-payment.
Although I've cringed at some of winemaker's previous posts, winemaker has exceeded my expectations with this thread. After sending an unprofessional PM, he then posts the unprofessional PM on a public forum and whines that he thinks he was wronged by the response he got. Go figure. And, too bad there's no Julie at Sentry - I'd love to read her public grade of winemaker's performance.

Sure, click on the section that says The Scheduler's Form, and have at it!! [forum.volition.com]
Thanks for the link to Volition. I had forgotten how to reach their job board, and just picked up a nifty job from there!
FYI, there is no employee at Sentry named Julie.

When did Julie leave Sentry for ACE? Was this before her tenure at Franchise Compliance?

Based on the post from 2017, I understood that Julie worked for ACE. I think that there has always been a Julie at ACE.

I agree with her though. Schedulers just have to take it. It's one of the main reasons that I quit scheduling.
Whaaaat???? Sentry thinks this Julie brings up "an interesting point?" Are you kidding me? This is unprofessional on Sentry's part. Some schedulers at Sentry are fine and some are snotty, snarky.
I have found them overall NOT my favorite company to deal with and NOT the best paying. I do a few shops every once in a while and MINIMIZE my contact with the snotty jerks at some levels. I have been told by one snotty rep on the phone that the wait to find out if you got a shop or not "has no
time limit" and another "editors don't answer shopper questions". They act like they have given you a golden calf if you get a $2 bonus.

None of these companies owe us anything! I don't know why some people keep forgetting that. So yes I wonder if there is a place a where schedulers talk about shoppers because we come here to talk about them. Schedulers and editors work for peanuts the same as we do so I would have sent the same response to the OP but she was actually nice about it.

And seeing how there is no Julie at Sentry and this wasn't a PM, it was a post from over a year ago I feel the OP is just stirring the pot. Someone at Sentry pissed him off so he is grasping at straws for validation. I think it's convenient that Winemaker hasn't responded back to anything that has been said that proves he's lying.

I found Julie's (whoever she is) humorous. We often slam the MSC on this forum; sometimes unjustly.
