Super New to Mystery Shop but very excited!

I know that it is a dumb question, but how is becoming a mystery shopper different from performing an audit? I see quite a few in my area through Marketforce and I am unsure on how to approach them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. smiling smiley

In one sense, audits are all about things: inventory, prices, number of items on hand or missing.

MS is all about people and their job performance. So, we get requests, for instance, to observe the sales skills of employees, or the degree to which they work to the employer's standard.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Mystery shops are assignments you complete anonymously, posing as a regular consumer / guest of the assigned merchant / service. You have to read the assignment beforehand to know exactly what you're supposed to do (make a purchase, ask specific questions, make objections, things to look for), then be prepared to submit a detailed report about your experience. Audits are generally revealed (the business knows who you are and what you're doing). They may be a surprise or they may be scheduled. You go to the business and count / photograph / document whatever the audit requires. Audits can be very time consuming on site and at home when you have to enter the report.
I personally prefer mystery shopping to audits. Have you checked out the link at the bottom of the page titled "New Mystery Shoppers"? There is a lot of useful information there.
