Maritz new car sales shop

A new car sales shop just popped up for me on Maritz. It's a 2 part shop paying $50. Anyone know the details of this shop? Maritz provides no real info on what is required until you sign up.

You will play someone who is interested in buying a car. You have to take a test drive. You have to use your real name because they take a copy of your license. Also, your real phone number. About an hour on-site. Second part is reporting if the salesman followed up with you. I got $100 for this shop. It sat on the board a long time. Report is not too bad.

I did this shop 2 times. The dealer stores the license details when we test drive, last time I felt odd because he had my details so If i do the shop 3rd time , sales person will see that this is the third time I am doing test drive in an year ...Am i thinking too much ?

And yes $50 is total .
A big problem with car shops is that they do store our information, and do mark us as shoppers. Also, many dealerships own many different franchises and have a shared computer systems, so you may be marked in the computer system at many sites that you have never even visited.
I've done it twice, once for a bonus. It's a decent shop, the report isn't too bad. But they do have you in the system (ex. During the first shop, I requested to be contacted via email; my 2nd shop I only gave my phone, but they emailed me as a followup)
Beware of not getting paid because the dealer REFUSED to do a "computer printout" of the offer. Here in Austin, there are some dealers that like to do it the "old fashioned way" by just putting a handwritten amount on a brochure. Very unprofessional, but a shopper cannot FORCE a business to "comply" with his requests. This company doesn't care and will rip you off by saying YOU didn't comply with the "requirements".

I haven't done a car shop for this MSC but have done hundreds of other shops and I my experience is that this company does not rip off shoppers.

This is not the car negotiation shop being discussed. It is a typical car sales shop where you take a test drive and see how they sell the car. No negotiation necessary.

The car negotiation shop pays $75 is with SeeLevelHX and is so not worth it for even $500 IMHO.

The one being discussed on this thread with Maritz pays $50 total as the second part is just to see if they followed up. I have done it for a few different dealerships and sometimes with a bonus. Is worth it if close at $50 but you can get a bonus for more if it sits or you are a distance away.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
You realize that there are several different MSCs that do car dealership shops? You sure you are talking about Maritz?

I did this shop when it was with another company, paying the same. It wasn't a bad shop, although on the second one, they couldn't find the keys for the car I needed to test drive, so I had to wait a very long time while they located them. If all goes smoothly, you're probably looking at around 2 hours for on-site visit and report, plus any drive time. I've never done them with Maritz, but no problems with the shop being accepted.

This is definitely not the negotiation shops where you need to wrangle a price.

I do wonder how long the dealership keeps your info, though. One that I did before is open now, and it's been a little over two years since I did the shop. There are no other ones close enough to me anymore to make it worth it for $50.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
Maritz definitely has a car shop that pays $50. There are several on my board right now and I have gotten calls in the past to see if I am interested. I am not. I did a couple for another MSC when I first started 5 years ago, gave my real name, phone #, etc and it took almost a year for them to finally stop calling, emailing and give up.
I was looking at it since the pay seems reasonable, but I hate car shops. Like LlJake, they call me for months afterwards. Since I have to give my real name I don't see the point. I dislike being made as a mystery shopper as well.
