Vague instructions..opinions? Jm Ridgway

Hi all, I'm confused on when to make the pre recorded phone call... have some storage shops coming up this week and was looking at the instructions and it is requiring a pre recorded phone call but the instructions are extremely vague...all it says is to try and reach an associate 3 times and if no one answers make the visit cold. In addition the instructions say make the visit after the phone call but it doesn't specify same day. 2 days etc...I've reached out to the scheduler and all they said was if the instructions say to make the phone call same day then do that.. To throw a wrench in even more..it is stating not to call from my car..and on the script it says to say you need the unit within 10 days..thanks for any clarification..

I haven't done this shop. But, to play it safe, since it doesn't specify and your scheduler wasn't able to clarify, I would make the phone call before the visit on the same day.
That's a good idea..I have 6 of these lined up..I can probaby do the calls in the morning and do the actual visits in the afternoon..maybe do 3 one day and 3 the next..

Check your shop dates that are in your shop log. If it listed shop dates are 8/1 to 8/2, then do the shops on those dates.
I've never done this particular shop, but yes, the instructions sound vague. If they don't give you a phone number or code with which to make a recorded call, then apparently they no longer require one. You'd think they would have updated the guidelines or that the scheduler would answer that question....

But I'm confused about this: "it is stating not to call from my car..and on the script it says to say you need the unit within 10 days." I don't get that there's a contradiction here.

Doing them 3 and 3 sounds like a good idea. Six in one day would be a killer, if these are anything like the one I did a couple of months back.

@catgrannyof5, the dates listed say start date August 1st, due August 10th????

@BirdyC..the car instruction to me at least makes it sound like they want the shop done same day as phone call...and it is a pre recorded phone call

Oh; sorry! I thought there was some question about whether or not it was recorded. I get it now. But still not understanding the other; what does having to say you need the unit within 10 days have to do with not calling from your car? Anyway, I agree with the others and would make the call the day of the shop before you leave home. Sometimes instructions will specifically tell you to make the call, but set the appointment for some days later. But this doesn't sound like that's what they want.... Good luck with your shops!

I'm guessing to start the phone call portion on the first day of the shop, 8/1, just in case you have trouble reaching someone. Some MSC gives you some leeway for the dates, for example 8/1 to 8/10. Just don't wait to the last day to do the phone calls and visit portions of the shop just in case the persons are not there, which can happen.
