Coyle Search Issue

Hello everyone smiling smiley I'm newly registered with Coyle. I am based in the UK and I've noticed I can't seem to be able to search based on postcode. For example I want to see all assignments available in the UK. I put my postcode and radius 100 miles as an example but the returned result is everything - ALL of the assignments ALL over the world!! The only way around it is if I put London in the city window, only then I get to see surveys but ONLY in London. However, I would like to see all of the UK without going through 3 thousand plus assignments. Has anyone come across this issue before? Thank you in advance smiling smiley

Put in the city and put the miles at say 50?
Hi Niner, I have done that but it only shows visits for London no matter what radius I choose. But what if they have some in say for example Hampshire? It doesn't seem to show that and I have tested that by putting Glasgow in and selecting 75 miles radius - it returned zero assignments, then I put Edinburgh in and it showed me assignments in Edinburgh. Distance between Glasgow and Edinburgh is about 50 miles so surveys should have come up in my first search. I'm not based in London and it makes me wonder if there are some surveys next to me but it just isn't showing them because of some sort of search settings issue
Email Coyle? I can see the frustration! It will work out smiling smiley
Hi Foodsnob, they've got a few in London, a few in Leeds and 1 in Manchester at the moment - nothing else unfortunately. Coyle is a US-centric company and they only have a couple of clients with UK outlets.

The most efficient way to find the in the UK is, as you described, to click London/Manchester/Leeds etc in the "cities" drop down (clicking the little "loop").

I don't mean to question you but are you sure you saw Edinburgh-located assignments when you clicked Edinburgh, or did you see US ones? Just checking as 1) I've not seen any Edinburgh-based assignments before (including just now when I checked, though I should likely still be in "Backup shopper" if you saw it on the 17th) and 2) there are often quite a few stray assignments that show up under the wrong location.
Hello Niner and Crunchynerd and thank you for your replies smiling smiley You were right Crunchynerd it was just in the wrong place on the map. I found it by psychically moving the little me on the map, saving it and then opening the map view. It showed an allocated hotel visit but after your comment I checked the address and it is actually close to Hook so Hampshire :/

How long does it take for Coyle to allocate and approve a survey to mystery shoppers? I have applied to a few and it has been about 2 weeks now. On their systems it says it can take up to a week and if unsuccessful they get deleted automatically. My applications have not been moved to Assigned or deleted.
Who knows. I had five get approved all at once. I applied for five more, after completing the others and doing well with them, and have not heard back. They are a mystery.

Have had a request allocated in mere hours and another in weeks - I'm afraid I've not quite found a pattern there, though they do tend to allocate the more urgent ones first.

From submitting to approving is generally 10 days, sometimes up to 2 weeks, for restaurant visits, shorter for phone calls (though I've not done many phone calls so my sample size is small!).
Hello Niner and Crunchynerd, hope your shopping assignments are going well smiling smiley I had one assigned finally when I've already signed up to do a more appealing one through another md company. Am I reading their instructions correctly? They only allow one starter and one dessert between 2 people for dines and no lobsters? I know I sound very spoiled right now grinning smiley but when I discovered Coyle I couldn't believe the budget they allocate, 100 pounds plus for dinners!! But then you can't really spend it if you are limited on the amount of food you order, a bit cheeky really. How can Coyle work with high end clients yet not allow its shoppers to assess clients' menu properly with mid priced cap on food and lobster ban!? yawning smiley

One app, two entrees, one dessert- that's how it appears to work.
To be honest, even when ordering one appetiser, two entrees, and one dessert, when you include a drink and the service charge you often find yourself to be close to the budget already.

Personally I think it's fair enough that they don't want you to order any lobster tail or champagne as that probably has the lowest margins for the restaurant - you don't have a better idea of the restaurant's service when ordering lobster tail (or champagne, or two desserts)...
I agree in terms of the champagne but with lobster it might be a different story if they specialise in lobster, ribs and steak as it is also about the quality of food and how it is prepared. I suppose I was just annoyed that I got accepted to my regular place of visit, where they do lobsters for the price lower than most restaurants but yet I can't have it. I don't eat beef or pork so I am limited on options there. And with this dine I have my favourite whenever I go there (not on mystery visits) so it was a bit of a shock that I can't order my regular ones. However, I do accept I can be a food snob grinning smiley so it's all good.
