Mystery Shop Site

I note that Paula B. has posted on the job board regarding needing shoppers for this company. Before shoppers sign up, I would strongly encourage them to read the thread at Volition.com regarding this company at [forum.volition.com] so you know what is involved prior to signing up. We learn through the experience of others or the hard way through our own experience. Follow up phone calls and emails can really take a whole lot of your time. If you decide to go this route I would strongly suggest you establish a different email address to use for your site signups as I suspect your contact information will be sold to many folks.

I read the other forum, and there seems to be mixed reviews on her....I'm passing on this one, just because it seems like it could be a problem (which I don't need).

Live consciously....
My reaction is that it is what it is. It is certainly not something I would pursue, but there may be those for whom this is exactly what they are looking for. I would just be hard pressed to call it 'mystery shopping'.
Hi,
I'm Paula Brennan and I'm happy to answer any questions you may have if you are considering applying to shop for us.
Flash, thank you for pointing to Volition, it is regarded as a good, unbiased and independent forum for shoppers, and most definitely is where prospective shoppers should go when considering employment with any MSPC.
As far as MysteryShopSite goes, we provide shoppers to the online industry, which means that all of our shops can be performed online, without leaving your home. This translates into no need for traveling to a shopping location, and no need for face-to-face contact with companies you shop.
On the other hand, performing shops for us does generate a significant amount of emails, and we do recommend, and provide instructions for, setting up an alternative email address for this purpose.
Many of our shops also generate telephone calls, and this is perhaps the most significant difference between our shops and offline shops. Many shoppers feel that receiving telephone calls is invasive and unwelcome, whilst many others would much prefer to take calls at home than to have to physically visit a location to perform a shop - it is entirely down to an individual's preference, but if you do apply to shop for us, a willingness to accept calls and using an agreeable telephone manner is a requirement.
On the upside, we pay well for short batches of shops which take around 30 minutes to complete online (often less), and we pride ourselves on paying promptly. There are, of course, no fees charged to shoppers, ever - not for applying to shop for us, nor for receiving shops, nor for performing the actual shops. Following feedback from our shoppers, we steer clear of shops which require shoppers' sensitive details, such as account numbers, CC numbers or SSNs.
Like any decent MSPC, we strongly recommend giving a very wide berth to any company which does charge fees to shoppers, or that requires shops where shoppers have to make any sort of payment to complete them.
I would also like to take the opportunity to mention that in summer 2010 we underwent a redesign of our website and of our shoppers' area, streamlining many of our processes. Unfortunately, this does mean that shoppers who were previously registered with us (prior to Sept. 2010) will need to re-register if they wish to receive further shops.

I hope this has helped, and, once again, please don't hesitate to ask through this forum, or via email, any questions you may have.

Thank you,
Paula

Thank you for clarifying what I hoped shoppers would read on Volition before eagerly signing up to work with you, Paula. Working from home and then being really unhappy with the follow up phone calls and plethora of solicitation email they would consider to be spam would not be good. There are some shoppers here who have been seeking just such work due to immobility issues of various sorts, so this could work to their advantage. Follow up phone calls would NOT be welcome in my house, so I would not come play with you. :^)
I signed up with them and did 2 job sheets--THEY DO NOT PAY!!!!!!!! both sheets are complete and they refuse to answer my emails!
Sounded interesting to me until that rebecca. My daughter (with serious heart problems) could work from home and even bed. She wouldn't mind answering calls and emails. She would mind not getting paid. Please keep us posted if you do eventually get what was promised.

"Finally, whatever things are good, true, noble, lovely, of good report...if there be any virtue, if there be any praise...think on these things." ....It's a command, not a suggestion!
"Membership has its privileges". I would suggest that you click on Paula B.'s name in blue a few posts above yours, rebeccawon, and send her a PM (Private Message) through the forum. Her specific statement at the end of her post is, "I hope this has helped, and, once again, please don't hesitate to ask through this forum, or via email, any questions you may have." Since email hasn't worked, perhaps a PM will.
I also did 2 job sheets for them. They said good job and still no pay. I did everything I was supposed to do. I get tormented with phone calls and emails. They did not pay me a penny. I keep emailing every email I have for them, even Paula's email, but to no success. I will not let this go. It is not right that they can do this to people. I work for other online companies and get paid promptly. I am gonna file a report somewhere about them.
