My data has been breached by so many companies that I have a constant watch on my credit, for free.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Same thing happened to IHG a couple of years ago. Not too worried about it. Wells Fargo has shut down my debit card soamy times for fraud alerts I really don't stress over it.

All of my information since I stayed at that hotel has changed.

Twice now I have received new debit cards from the bank with a letter saying there was a breach at a company where I did business. So that's what they're doing now, at least in some cases. The companies, rather than announcing a breach, are getting the banks to cover for them.

It's not unusual on bank/financial shops to be told how secure and hack-proof their systems are. I don't actually laugh at them, it would be impolite. But I want to.
Lots of those breaches in my area happen at gas pumps with skimmers. I never use a pin at the pump because of it. Not the only way to be compromised, but common. Sharing since a lot of us go to gas stations several times a day. (My day job is a with a bank that gets to buy all those replacement cards when it happens to our customers)

Part-time shopper based in Delaware
Whenever possible, I use Samsung Pay to buy stuff. It gives a virtual number.

That's pretty much what I think when I see that.

Now if they award you some kind of points bonus for each stay that may have been breached, I'd fare decently.
