SQM is doing a round of January shops for an ultra-discount carrier known for its fees. Like with their other airline clients you get back 50% -- but with this client they'll reimburse both the $10 fee for having the agent print a boarding pass as well as $10 to allow for the purchase of food/drink on board. Right now the shops are limited to the East Coast/Florida but hopefully it will be continued and expanded in future months. This carrier has been making efforts at improving its image and a customer service-focused mystery shopping program is the right move for them. (And I hope that is considered before everyone starts adding their complaints about this airline to this thread.) One downside for me is that I'm badged for an airport served by this carrier so I can go in person and buy tickets at the counter which, for some odd reason, results in a $36 savings round trip. So it wouldn't make sense for me to mystery shop a $100 round trip flight, but I'd certainly shop a $300 flight. This wouldn't apply to someone who can easily stop by the airport to buy tickets at the counter.
