I have seen cashiers eat while working but never here ...

I have seen cashiers, servers and bartenders eating in front of guests, but today takes the cake.

I saw and had to interact with a clerk at the Post Office who was helping customers and eating a banana at the same time. Giant bites too, not a nibble.

I know that they get breaks. What the heck is going on lately?

Maybe someone had a blood sugar problem and that was all that was available. Does seem odd, though!

Yeah, they might have had a medical reason and not wanted to abandon the line.

But if they were going to scarf something down, that wouldn’t have taken them offline very long.
If you have glucose issues then keep a pixie stick at your station. It takes a few seconds to dump that dextrose in your mouth and your done.... We keep pixie sticks everywhere for this reason. Getting a phone call from the teacher that your four year old is at a blood sugar of 26 is just so much fun.....
I was at the post office on a shop a few months ago and the supervisor was chewing out one of the clerks right there in the open, yelling across the room at him from the other side for about 5 minutes. There were about 15 customers witnessing this. Wonder if it was the same post person. I wish she was eating a banana instead.
One of the little post offices on the Orange Co. LA Co. border gets lunch relief from another facility and occasionally doesn't have anyone to cover their only clerk for lunch or the relief person shows up really late. I wonder if you ran into a situation like that?
