Cutting Trend Source from my list of companies to work for.

I'm finding Trend Source to be one of the lowest paying MSC. I'm cutting them off of my list of shops. They e-mailed me and asked if I would do a local shop they needed done today. I asked for a bonus and they said "No". I did a Medicare shop for them and they took $3 off my pay for filing late. I did another one where the agent told me to come back in an hour, he was busy playing bingo. Trend Source would not pay me for that shop. I'm done with them. Anyone else had this happened with them?

Nope. Getting lots of bonuses with them too lately. I never have filed late though. I get home, file and go to bed. Reports are in by 9 PM.

When they asked you to take a last minute job they needed filled and refuse to pay any extra, I guess the job wasn't that important to them. I've noticed many of their Medicare shops are up for weeks or even months. No one taking them, the same for their grocery shops. They stay posted for weeks at a time and they refuse to pay extra. That tells you something about the company. Good companies don't have jobs staying posted for very long.
We know the average pay is low, but being they pay quickly (twice a month). I've personally never had a problem and am able to self-assign and all their shops are in my town, they also don't have a 3 month wait between shops, so it more than works for me. Thanks to them, I get all the food I need, adding a bit of my own $$ (of course). Bonus only serves me when I have to drive the freeway, working 6 groceries in my town more than works, and for me their reports are easy. Time is money and I certainly save my time with them. They are so easy on their reports and no, I do my shops, come right home and write report....don't be late, they have a time span to get reports edited and pay shopper.
edited to add: In response to John, groceries fly off the board, the Medicare stays around, but they have time to get them done...if you get your reports in late, should you get a bonus??? Just asking.

Live consciously....

They get 100% of the grocery shops filled with very few exceptions.

I do grocery shops each month for TS, and have never had an issue with them. About 90% of the shops I do at base pay, because they are nearby. But now and then, perhaps once a month, I'll do one for an added bonus of anywhere between $10-$30 bonus. I have never filed a late report. There have been times, very few times, when I've asked for a re-schedule, and was accommodated. So no, no problems with them.
I have yet to see them offer any bonus. For the amount of information they want on the grocery shops they are not worth it. On the Medicare shops they make you wait 3 weeks before you can file the report.
I refuse to do their grocery shops at their base pay, but there are lots of folks that do. They post a new cycle each week, so if you are seeing them on the board, it's possible that they are the next week's batch that are already up. If I ask for PAD on a project request, I usually don't get it, so I stopped going to their project board. However, when they call, they can offer a bonus. It's usually not much (like a couple dollars) and I still don't take the low offers, but every now and then I get a sizable amount of PAD and I do a grocery shop for them. They had some in my area that they were desperate to get done at the end of February, and I was able to get two with $30 PAD on each. Those were 8 miles away from me, so all in all not bad when they turn around and pay within 2 weeks. I do think hey are a good company to work for, just super low base pay. But if people are willing to work for a pittance, would it make sense to pay more?

I looked last night at my history, and 90% of the shops that I have done for them have bonuses.
They put up the shops weeks in advance, and they all get done. I personally don't need to do them, so I wait until the last moment to request anything usually. Most of the time, the schedulers call or text me.
xenshopper, I agree. it's just that the pay is so low and their shops take longer. I can make more money, in less time from other MSC.
They don't pay every two weeks on their Medicare shops. They make you wait 3 weeks, before you can file your finished report. No other company does that on Medicare shops.
I normally would not comment because I feel like a broken record whenever TS comes up, but I had to say you are NOT alone, John. I have had some awful experiences with them cancelling far-away/bonused shops without telling me and other unethical behavior that I have shared before. Others have shared similar experiences on past TS threads as well...maybe they are tired of repeating themselves too haha. I don't agree with the automatic late reporting deduction either, especially when they have such a short deadline, especially for route shoppers. At least the app reporting has made that a lot easier but still.

But it's great that we are contractors. I chose to stop working with them for several months because I was disgusted with them. Now I work with them again because I get a lot of value out of the grocery shops and like the quick pay, but I choose to do this in a way that requires minimal to no interaction with the schedulers, most of whom I still do not like.

Happily shopping the Pacific Northwest. Shopping since 2013 smiling smiley
After reading the last two posts, I now feel like one of their favorites...smiling smiley Never had any shop cancelled, two schedulers call me or I call them if I see something I want, always professional and I get what I want....
have to say different strokes for different folks, so glad I'm on the same page, if I added up how much I make from them in a year, it would definitely be worth my time, no complaints here. I have never been late on ANY
report in my 13 years of shopping, which means a lot to all companies. I have moved on from a couple companies I'm not happy with, bad mouthing them won't help.

I understand people with families doing the grocery shop for this company. You go shopping there anyway. As a single person, I eat out more often and don't do much grocery shopping. They don't pay enough and require way too much work for my time.
I've never had the problems you described, I do get texts sometimes asking to change the dates of my shops because the shopper before me at the same location failed to do their job. I find that incredibly annoying and unfair as I schedule my shops in certain locations when I'm in that area and have extra time. I feel they need to have a better system when things like that happen. It seems like the shops come and go, right now they're going very fast but sometimes they sit there and I have my choice of what I want to do. It also seems that way for the PAD, they get new schedulers and want their shops done so they're more willing but others aren't. The ones that aren't willing I ignore. The only thing I like about the company is that they pay twice a month, I've considered dropping them as well but you always need groceries.
I do about 10 shops a month for them. I don't shop for them to make money, I shop for them to get the free groceries. Whatever shop fees I make just basically covers my gas to drive there. I usually do a route of 3-4 at a time in my area.
I’ve cut them out too. They cut your pay in half if the health care agent from the shop doesn’t show up no matter how far you travel. Scheduler overschedules and then takes mostly all the assignments away later which is not good if you have made a schedule to have yourself free for those days.
I like seeing new parts of the area so I enjoy the trendsource jobs. The low pay saves on taxes. ????
I do shop for Trendsource, they are good people. The closest grocery store is 18 miles from my house, but I'm going to drive that far to buy groceries anyway because I live in a tiny town with no decent grocery stores. There have been times in my life in recent years when the only way I was able to afford to feed myself was because I was shopping for Trendsource, I'll never forget that.

I have no issues with the schedulers, they do their best with folks who can be a little squirly (me included) sometimes. Someone in my area has been getting a LOT of their shops rescheduled, and it's been affecting my ability to adapt. Especially in the winter, with the frozen roads and the severe storms, it's been hard to make adjustments.

I do sometimes have issues with the editors, they seem to like to change the rules in mid-stream, start questioning our answers suddenly when you've been answering the same questions about the same things for years.

As for the health care shops, I haven't done those in years. I don't like the way they schedule them and I hate fighting with editors.

Oh please....they do not. If they did the shops wouldn't be up there for weeks.

Actually, all of the grocery shops in the larger cities get taken quickly. And even in the smaller cities here with just a few available shoppers, all of the grocery shops get filled except for a select few stores that no one wants to go to because of the environment of the stores. They add new grocery shops every Wednesday, and usually by noon on Thursday all but the bad ones are gone, and most weeks even those are gone before Friday.
I like Trendsource, I used to do the grocery shops a lot but since they changed the report I don't enjoy doing them as much. They have some of the most forgiving schedulers and editors that I have ever worked with and if they call me for an emergency I will usually do the shop for them.

Motivation increases when we assume large responsibilities with a short deadline.
They pay peanuts for equifax shops. Not worth the effort. And the grocery shops are a step above peanuts but not much.
i like to do their ink shops. The pay is pretty decent for a quick shop where i just have to take some pictures and don't have to talk to anyone. Unfortunately, I can't self-assign them. What I find frustrating is that sometimes they'll take up to 2 weeks to assign shops, and by then ive half given up getting them and forget to check. Of course, that's when they send me the request for confirmation and I miss it. There is someone else in my area that likes them too apparently cos they never sit long enuf to earn any kind of bonuses. The grocery store jobs just sit there and clutter up the list for weeks on end, though.

Another frustrating thing is whoever does the assigning just seems to randomly assign the jobs. I'll request jobs in a 20-mile radius from where I work. Say I request 10 jobs. I'll get assigned 4 -- all 90 degrees from each other on that radius. Would be great if they would assign them in clusters. This also keeps me from requesting jobs farther away. I see tons of them up near my sister, and I would gladly request them if I knew I'd get all of them, and then I'd go hang out with my sister afterwards. But I fear they'll only assign one -- and it's just too far to warrant the distance for an $8 job.
I've also found you can request a shop and your request will stay there for a week. Suddenly the day of the shop, you're shown as a backup. Most shops tell you if they've found someone else. Trend Source doesn't.
